Shalom Joshua, No, Abraham was not a Jew. He was to be the father of the Jews and of many other nations. Nor was Isaac a Jew. He was the beginning of the line that would become Israel and also many other nations. Jacob was the actual, literal father of the line that would become known as Jews (Judah) and also of other nations, but he, himself, was not a Jew. His 12 sons were the ones that began to be known as Hebrews. Judah's people began being known as Jews sometime after the single kingdom of Israel split into the two houses known as Judah (Southern Kingdom) and Israel/Ephraim (Northern Kingdom) which took place during or just after Solomon's reign. Ezekiel 37 tells us that these two kingdoms will once again, in the latter days, be brought back together in their own land, as one people, under one King!! Please forgive me for the lack of scripture reference, I just woke up and my eyes just won't focus yet to look up the references (that won't happen for another 1-2 hours) :o) Cheri |

How would you come to the conclusion that Adam was the first Jew? He is the first ancestor of all human races. Please carefully study the book of Genesis again before you may respond to any relevant questions on the forum. I see all your answers given in your posts lacking scriptural support. Please read the Terms of Use of the forum so that you may know about the guidelines of posting. Thanks. Shalom Azure |
