Shalom again ssmiller, The book of Zachariah is rich, I love it. 6:12-13 speaks of the King; 8:20-23 speaks of the latter days; 9:9 describes the day Yeshua/Jesus entered Jerusalem just before Passover; 11:12-13 tells of His price; 12:10 tells of His people recognizing Him in the latter days; 13:7 about what happened to His followers at His arrest and crucifixion. Chapter 14 speaks of the 2nd Advent of our Messiah. This is just a sampling of Jesus' 1st and 2nd Advents in this book!! Have fun reading it! Cheri |

226 | How was God YHWH called in prayer? | Matt 6:9 | skccab | 190082
Hi 00123, I believe some of the names used are Elohim, Elohay, and El Elyon. There are many (about 30) names that describe attributes of Adonai, and it doesn't seem unreasonable that these attribute/names might be used in prayer according to what was being desired. If they were desiring sustenance, they might have used Jehovah Jireh (Gen. 22:14 - The Lord sees/provides); if they needed to be saved from an enemy they might have used the attribute Elohay Yishi (Ps. 25:5 - the God of my salvation); if they were being falsely accused or been misused they might have used the attribute/name Elohay Mishpat (Isa. 30:18 - the God of Justice). They could use these (and the others) in praise and worship as well. Do a study of the attribute/names in the O.T., they are fascinating. If this helped answer your question and you would like more of the attribute/names feel free to check my profile and email me, I'd be happy to send you a list. blessings cheri |

227 | Fasting? | Matt 6:16 | skccab | 195730
Shalom again,TMo Yeshua taught fasting. When His disciples could not heal the epileptic He said that kind would only go out by fasting and prayer. I don't think that has changed. What purpose does fasting serve? Isa. 58:6-11 is a beautiful picture of a fasted saint. Cheri |

228 | Christian now? Christian later? | Matt 7:21 | skccab | 186513
Hi there, for #1 See James 1:14-27 for #2 See James 1:2-8. See also Eph 2:8-9; Tit. 3:3-7; Heb. 7:25 especially 1 Pet. 1:5 and Jude 1:3 Hope this helps. But keep in mind Christianity is not a "couch religion." We are expected to be "ambassadors of Christ" so a change will take place in you behavior. If there is no change then go back to the Cross with 1 John 1:9. Cheri |

229 | A "new creation" in reality? | Matt 7:21 | skccab | 186516
Hi lookn It sounds to me from all your questioning that we're not talking about "those others" but it seems someone is whispering condemnation in your ear and you're buying it. It is all 100percent faith in the work of Jesus. I'm sure there are times when any one of us doesn't "feel" saved. Those that are married don't always "feel" married but they are indeed. And we are indeed saved if we put Jesus first in all things. And we don't always hit the bull's eye, very often we fall flat on our faces and then it's very hard to "feel" saved and forgiven. We have to trust God's word then, pick ourselves up, brush off the dirt, pray about it, receive forgiveness and MOVE ON. We are STILL saved My motto: the bible says it, i believe it, and that settles it. Cheri |

233 | If possible, how can any be sure? | Matt 7:21 | skccab | 186676
Maybe an analyist could help you? It appears you are not seeking truth for it has been served you time and again here and yet you persist in your unbelief. my advice: get a grip and move on. if you are truly concerned about "others" then tell them what you've been told and move on. God will send waterers to tend the seeds you plant if you are worried about yourself then come clean, plead the blood and receive your forgiveness as a child receives the good things from its parents. There is nothing more than that that you can do in love cheri |

236 | pictures,armour of God | Mark 12:30 | skccab | 207815
Good Morning Liefie, Welcome to the forum. That's a very good question. I would suggest first that you just draw the different pieces of the armor as they are described, maybe make a paper doll to wear the pieces, and you could explain them something like this: Girded the loins with truth: the loins are noted for their reproduction properties (you know how much your child can understand), so if you loins are girded with the truth, you will always produce that which is good and true. The breastplate of righteousness: covers the chest which houses one's heart, will help keep your love pure and true and fixed on the One who is pure and true. The feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace: your feet are what takes you to places, if they are covered and ready to spread the gospel of peace then they will not take you into places that are tumultous, where you should not go, instead they will take you to places that need to hear the gospel. The shield of faith: is held out in front of a person, it covers, protects from things that can harm, but you have to hold it or it won't do you any good. The helmet of salvation: it goes on the head which is at the top of the body, therefore the helmet of salvation covers the whole entire body, all is saved and belongs to God. The sword of the Spirit: the Word of God, the Bible, read it, live it, love it. And praying always: let everything that comes out of your mouth bring glory to God and blessing to people. Praying isn't always about Asking for something. This isn't too difficult for a 6yr old to understand. Have fun teaching your wee one Cheri |

237 | "father god" | Mark 14:36 | skccab | 188371
Morning Rich, We very often begin a prayer by stating to Whom (our Father) and What (God, Creator of All Things in Heaven and in Earth). We go to our Father as loving children knowing He has our best interest at heart. We go to God Almighty because we know He is the one Who can supply all our needs. As an aside, "God" is not the Father's name, anymore than "Father" is His name. Those are descriptive titles of Who and What He is. His name is Yahweh. And before you ask, no a child does NOT approach his/her father, calling him by his name. Especially not his/her Heavenly Father. Does this answer your question? blessings cheri |

239 | Christians Demon Plagued? | Mark 16:17 | skccab | 205651
Tamara, Are you talking about Peter's denial? And/or about when he told Messiah that He would not die (that scene, I don't remember too well)? If either of those, then remember that Peter was NOT sealed with the Holy Spirit, that didn't happen till after the resurrection, and his salvation was not effected till the death and resurrection of Messiah, either. I don't have any scriptures, just a little common sense - there is a BIG difference between just blurting out something that Satan may put in your mind and doing an action (especially one that you would normally NOT do) that he has put in your mind. From your post, you said "He never said she was possesed, he said she was demon plagued and that the demon had to be cast out of her in the name of Jesus before her sanity returned to her." Your friend totally contradicted himself didn't he? You can't cast something out that is not inside of you, can you? Maybe this lady just needs to be checked out medically, Late on-set Turetz? maybe? Another 2cents worth, wowee if I keep on you're gonna be a wealthy lady Tam!! Cheri |

240 | Knowledge of why they are in torment? | Luke | skccab | 196493
Shalom Chuck, How are you? A very good question. Do you mind if I take a stab at it? Although it's purely speculative, and based on human logic. Luke 16:19-31 tells the story of a man in hell conscious of those in Paradise, even of a conversation taking place. Obviously, at that time the differences between the two locations could be seen, if both the wicked and the righteous were conscious, and the wicked man knew he had done badly and that his servant had lived righteously. If they were conscious of the differences at that time, then the same should hold true today. The passage you quoted to a degree speaks of a decision - so all have heard of the differences between heaven and hell, of fellowship with God and separation from Him, and all have made a decision one way or the other. Your question is does their memory remain, the memory of choices. I'm thinking "selective" memory at least remains. The reason I think that is because in Rev. we read that there will be no more sadness, no more tears or pain for those in heaven - and that would mean that memories of loved ones who didn't make it there are not remembered because that would cause pain. We know that God is just. And in the TaNaKH I can't recall a time that He didn't either warn before hand of punishment about to come or explain why it was about to happen (as in 1 Kings 13). I don't know of any specific passages that you're asking for (I would like to know if there are any also), but that's my 2cents worth, that - yes, they do remember why they are now in torment. God is not cruel, I don't think He would eternally punish without allowing knowledge of the why. Still learning :-) Cheri |
