182 | Asking many to pray for us? | Eccl 4:12 | lionheart | 188872
justme, Good day to you brother. Faith is essential in all aspects of a believer's walk with God. Hebrews 11:6 tells us that without faith we cannot please God. James 5:15,16 tells us that the prayer offered in faith will restore the sick and that the effective prayer of the righteous accomplishes much. But I will say this in reference to Ecclisiastes 4:12 God never created any of us to be lone rangers. There is always strength in numbers. We will be stronger in the majority of cases together than we will be individually. There will be instances where it will be just you and God.David is a good example of this. Imagine if he had went into battle against Goliath and had been faithless he would have been squashed. It would not have mattered that he had the armies of Isreal at his back,it didnt matter anyway considering where ther hearts were at at this particular moment in time. A good case in point is my own salvation twelve plus years ago. Unknown to me at the time,I had a group of people that had been praying for me for more than a year. Yes the prayer of the one can move the heart of God,but also the prayer of the many. God wants us united. So whether you pray alone or togethor in concort with others is no judgement on our faith. But it is inline with God's will to have us united. In Him, lionheart uni |

187 | Is Anxiety a sin? | Is 41:10 | lionheart | 237935
acdaniel55, I to would like to welcome you to the forum. You've come to a good place. I pray your time with us will be rich in blessing as well as learning. Doc's response to you was right on the money. Our feelings and anxieties are part of who we are, Jesus experienced all of it and he used those things to minister God to the people. But He never allowed them to runaway with him. He always brought people to the standard of Gods Word and that's what we should be doing today. Feelings can be a good thing but they are no guarantee for truth. In Him, lionheart |

188 | ... | Is 43:10 | lionheart | 168610
Maearl, Ephesians 4:4-6,The key word in this passage of scripture is one (heis-single). God's Word clearly states what is and whats not.Why do people persist in trying to interject there own beiief systems into the bible. There is nothing pick and choose about God or His Word. We got exactly what God chose to convey to those he revealed His Word to and thats what we have now. Nothing more nothing less. We either believe 2 Timothy 2:15, 3:16,17 2 Peter 1:20,21 1:3 or we dont. You dont get to pick whats true and whats not.God has already done that. You get to choose to believe or not, thats it. When people interject there own belief systems into the bible then you dont have the bible anymore.Gods Word has always stood on it's own and always will no matter what one chooses to believe. Why complicate everything by adding our own two cents worth? God got the job done and thats good enough like it or not. In Christ, lionheart |

191 | Does God hear the prayers of the lost? | Is 59:1 | lionheart | 149205
xmikx, Greetings,God turns a def ear to no one. It's our sin and unbelief that keep us away from God.There are numerous times in my own life where God answered my prayers. What makes you think God doesnt hear and isnt currently answering your friend's prayers.Part of what moved me to becomming a disciple of Jesus Christ was knowing and trusting that God was hearing my prayers.God hears and answers prayer,it may not always be in the way we expect but he answers nevertheless. God isn't arbitrary in anything he does. What ever God brings about it's always the best for all concerned.Share Isaiah 59:1 with your friend and encourage her that God does hear her prayers. This is a time that you can encourage her and show her that she needs God and that she needs to get right with God and Jesus Christ is the only way that can ever happen.Encourage her that God loves her. This is a real opportunity for you and your wife to minister to your friend. All of you will be in my prayers. IN Christ, lionheart |

192 | Is prayer more effective for the saved? | Is 59:1 | lionheart | 149246
Good day SMO, The prayer of a rightious man is powerful.Take this verse in context with verses 13-15 and you will see that our prayers are a matter of faith and if there is sin involved then God will forgive. Again I will also refer back to Isaiah 59:1. God hears prayer and if he hears he answers, the answer may not be what we expect but there will be an answer. If we dont hear it's because we are not listening. The problem is on our end not Gods. So likelyhood has nothing to do with God answering prayer. How we are doing spiritually can have a bearing on how effective our prayers will be. In Christ, lionheart |

195 | The "goodness" of man? | Jer 17:9 | lionheart | 144945
Greetings my sister, mans problem isn't a problem with self esteem or self identity and I'm sure this is no recent revelation to you.Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is more deceitful than all else And is desperately sick;Who can understand it? This is us apart from God.This is the old man.The world wants an easy Gospel,Cheap Grace. We as comitted disciples of Jesus know different. We know that our salvation cost God his dearest blood and without Jesus Christ we are lost. The non Christian by nature would prefer not to believe this. They would prefer that we preach a watered down soft shoed gospel.I'm OK your OK philosophy will never work. We must be loving but also uncompromising when it comes to preaching the Gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.Keep telling it like it is my sister. Love ya, lionheart |

198 | Can we take Scripture out of context? | Jer 29:11 | lionheart | 141853
Check this out, Romans 15:4 For what was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, that through perseverance and the encouragement of the scriptures we might have hope. Can we take scripture out of context? Most assuredly so. But when we apply a few basic principles when we are in the bible the odds of taking something out of context go way down. Scripure is addressed to us or it's for our learning. Jerimiah 29:11-13 it's a jem. Check out Acts 17:26-28. Gods has a plan for every last one of us.It's mans choice to follow that plan or not. Your brother in Christ, lionheart |

199 | how do you receive the full blessing | Jer 29:11 | lionheart | 171355
VMcGlocking, Greetings and welcome to the forum. I dont know that Malachi 3 is so much about tithing, giving and going to church ( these are all things we should be doing.) as much as it is about where our hearts should be and about trusting God. If our heart is not right with God then we only go through the motions and who knows if we would even do that. Jeremiah 29:11-14a is a good starting point if you want to study this out further. I would have one question for you, what do you percieve as fully recieve? In Christ, lionheart |
