281 | Is the Rapture mentioned in the OT? | Matt 24:3 | jlpangilinan | 20274
Maybe what happened to Elijah was a very example of Rapture: Ki 2:11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. Johnny |

282 | Is having a TV unbiblical? | Matt 24:14 | jlpangilinan | 81115
No! TV indeed is a big tool for preaching the world of God. Having TV of course has advantages and disadvantages. It can corrupted the minds of young ones if you dont guide them in a proper channels. It also a tool for evil if you use it in viewing porno movies. But in proper using TV is a tool to preach a gospel. Too many tv programs now reach distance preaching the word of God. TV could a help preaching the gospel all nations: Mt 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Mt 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. 287 | follow-up on the signs | Matt 24:29 | jlpangilinan | 60753
No man can exactly know when is this going to happen. 2000 years ago it was mentioned by Christ, that Mt 3:2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Until know every pastors preach that the second coming is at hand, that at hand has 2002 years already but until now no man can exactly kmow the time. Many founders of religion try to propecies that such as Russel of Jehova's witnesses that propecies I think twice but until he died his propecies never happened, his successors also tried but then the outcome is the same. This is really to show us that Christ mentioned was true: Mt 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. Mt 24:37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Mt 24:38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, We have to be watchful everyday not for the signs but for our daily lives. 289 | who are brothers of mine in Mt 25:40 | Matt 25:40 | jlpangilinan | 98528
Christ talk it in general, it includes His biological brother and sisters: Mt 13:55 Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? It includes all christians or follower of Christ (4.) A disciple or follower (Mt 25:40; Heb 2:11-12). (5.) One of the same faith (Am 1:9; Ac 9:30; 11:29; 1Co 5:11); whence the early disciples of our Lord were known to each other as brethren. (6.) A colleague in office (Ezr 3:2; 1Co 1:1; 2Co 1:1). (7.) A fellow-man (Ge 9:5; 19:7; Mt 5:22-23,24; 7:5; Heb 2:17). (8.) One beloved or closely united with another in affection (2Sa 1:26; Ac 6:3; 1Th 5:1). Brethren of Jesus (Mt 1:25; 12:46,50; Mr 3:31-32; Ga 1:19; 1Co 9:5, etc.) were probably the younger children of Joseph and Mary. Some have supposed that they may have been the children of Joseph by a former marriage, and others that they were the children of Mary, the Virgin's sister, and wife of Cleophas. The first interpretation, however, is the most natural. God bless, |

291 | How did Judas kill himself? | Matt 27:5 | jlpangilinan | 60171
He hang himself, that is true. Mt 27:5 And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself. The facts in Acts 1:18 is also true. He hang himself, and maybe the rope that he used or the branches of the tree broke and then his body fell down and his bowel burst. I hope it would helps God bless, Johnny |

292 | Bible's view on suicide? | Matt 27:5 | jlpangilinan | 125419
The account about suicide I could think of is Judas. Mt 27:5 And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself. If we can see he committed suicide because of guilt, not remembering what Jesus Christ taught. If judas only remember that Christ can still forgive Him on His sin, he maybe asking it instead of hang himself. Lu 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots Christian as a son of God, is not fearful, we are strong remembering that we are sons of God. Committing suicide sometimes is a result of lack of faith, fearful, and guilt. Re 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Christ also taught us to love our nighbor as we love our self, meaning we have to love our self, remembering that it is a temple of Christ. Mr 12:31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. Lastly, God commanded us not to kill: Thou shall not kill. suicide is killing. Christ said, those who can enter the Kingdom of heaven, are those who do the will of the Father. I am sure suicide is not a part of that WILL. Mt 7:21 ¶ Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. |

293 | Once saved, always saved? | Matt 27:5 | jlpangilinan | 125546
You are welcome. I found different views, and answer to your question. That is the beauty of the forum. I would like to quote some part of your statement. Quote "So once someone has repented, asked God to forgive them and asked God into their heart they are bound to heaven regardless of their relationship with Him or how they live their life."end of quote. We are created to HIS good works, and we should walk in them: Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. relationship with God is NOT what you said "regardless" there are requirements of being save! Mt 7:21 ¶ Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. It is unbelievable that a saved person after receiving Christ as his saviour will do suicide, or other crimes which is prohibited in the Bible. Heb 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, If we sin wifully after that we "received the knowledge of the truth" you see it is not permitted that after asking forgiveness you are forgiven past, present, future sins. There is always, a guidelines. Now, maybe you would ask, "once save is always save" is not true?. My view on this is the example of the life of Paul, before he knew Christ he is a different person forsake followers of Christ hanged them stone them to death. But once he knew and receive Christ, he became a new person, and dont go back do the things he done before. Ga 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. A save person live not himself but it is Christr lives in Him, If Christ lives in you, it is impossible to do killing, suicide and whatsoever wrongdoings you can think of, otherwise what Christ it that lives in you. If we think we are save, but then still do the things we done before, we are not save, we are just like dogs that return in his vomit! A dog returneth to his vomit, NOT a save person. Pr 26:11 ¶ As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly. God bless, |

294 | Does Isaiah help Christ carry the cross? | Matt 27:32 | jlpangilinan | 114186
It was simon of cyrene help Jesus Mt 27:31 And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him. Mt 27:32 And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross. (6.) A Jew of Cyrene, in North Africa, then a province of Libya. A hundred thousand Jews from Palestine had been settled in this province by Ptolemy Soter (B.C. 323-285), where by this time they had greatly increased in number. They had a synagogue in Jerusalem for such of their number as went thither to the annual feasts. Simon was seized by the soldiers as the procession wended its way to the place of crucifixion as he was passing by, and the heavy cross which Christ from failing strength could no longer bear was laid on his shoulders. Perhaps they seized him because he showed sympathy with Jesus. He was the "father of Alexander and Rufus" (Mt 27:32). Possibly this Simon may have been one of the "men of Cyrene" who preached the word to the Greeks (Ac 11:20). |

295 | Hebrews13:12-13 Leviticus4-28-29 5-5 | Matt 27:33 | jlpangilinan | 80323
It is the capital punishment at the time. Here in the Philippines before our death penalty was electrict chair, now the chance it lethal injection. Crucifixion a common mode of punishment among heathen nations in early times. The condemned one carried his own cross to the place of execution, which was outside the city, in some conspicuous place set apart for the purpose. Before the nailing to the cross took place, a medicated cup of vinegar mixed with gall and myrrh (the sopor) was given, for the purpose of deadening the pangs of the sufferer. And golghota is the place where the crussified condemed person to death. Mt 27:33 ¶ And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull, |

296 | What is the name of Zebedee's wife? | Matt 27:56 | jlpangilinan | 64398
graceme, Welcome to the forum! Zebedee a Galilean fisherman, the husband of Salome (q.v.), and the father of James and John, two of our Lord's disciples (Mt 4:21; 27:56; Mr 15:40). He seems to have been a man of some position in Capernaum, for he had two boats (Lu 5:4) and "hired servants" (Mr 1:20) of his own. No mention is made of him after the call of his two sons by Jesus.
