221 | Who are "the least of these?" | Matt 25:40 | Val | 219367
I believe this judgment is on deeds. Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds. I believe there are degrees of punishment. Matt 11:22 "Nevertheless I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment than for you. |

222 | Why did Jesus not want the evil spirits | Matt 26:18 | Val | 204947
There is something we call the timing of God. As christians we make prayer requests. Our Lord answers these requests according to His will in His timing. The Lord Jesus did the Fathers will in the Father's timing. You may find a more in-depth answer to your question by doing a word study on time in the NT. Blessings Val

If your girlfriend and yourself are both believers in Christ the logical path would be to get married if you cannot resist. The bible makes it plain that purity is the proper path. Consult your pastor and parents before you make any decisions.

226 | How? | Mark | Val | 198211
Happy New Year to you Azure. Your question is an interesting one. I am slowly going through Hebrews precept upon precept. In it I have learned that the christian life is a journey. We start out as babes in Christ. We are to grow and mature. Just as it is impossible for a newborn baby to stay a child it is impossible for a christian to stay a babe in Christ. As a newborn baby falls many times and makes many mistakes he does reach adulthood. It is a natural process. Also a newborn christian will grow and mature in Christ. He also falls and makes many mistakes. He does mature though. It also is for lack of a better phrase "a natural process". Mark 12:29-34
227 | Explain abomination and desolation | Mark 1:1 | Val | 198630
One aspect of interpreting prohecies is that they have a near and far interpretation. In other words a present and a future. The present of the abomination of desolation was when Antiochus Epphanies came into the temple and descecrated it when he offered a pig on the altar. This is the near interpretation. The far interpretation is that one like him but even worse will do the same thing or something similar in the future. This will be in the middle of the seven year tribulation. You can do a word study on the day of the Lord and tribulation, the lawless one, antichrist and others to study this topic on future events. The last days is also another one. May God bless you. Val Mark 13:14 "But when you see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION standing where it should not be (let the reader understand), then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains. |

228 | Why does Jesus need to be tempted? | Mark 1:13 | Val | 201689
It shows us that He was without sin. It also shows us the types of temptations we will face in this life. John 1:29 The next day he *saw Jesus coming to him and *said, "Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! 1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. |

230 | Ways to put our light on a lampstand? | Mark 4:21 | Val | 207401
"Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed than the fat of rams" 1 Samuel 15:22 "Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness...Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass" Psalm 37:3,5 "I delight to do Your will, O my God, and Your law is within my heart" Psalm 40:8 "For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly" Psalm 84:11 "If you love Me, keep My commandments...If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him" John 14:15,23 "Be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves" James 1:22 NKJV |

231 | Can't we live like the early disciples? | Mark 6:8 | Val | 194161

232 | The Blind leading the blind | Mark 8:18 | Val | 210771
Because Jesus was no ordinary man. He was and is God. He could see people's minds and hearts and know what their true motive and spirit was. He saw the corruptness of the individual Pharisees He encountered therefore He spoke from this knowledge. The Pharisees and Sadducees were wrong about just about everything. They were of their father, the devil. This is a warning to us in that we are not to put man on a pedestal and deify him. We are to serve God and God alone.
233 | Jesus warns not to go into the village? | Mark 8:26 | Val | 214202
If you read the gospel accounts one of the things He would say something to the effect that He was doing things in His fathers timeline. For some reason this would not have went along with the timeline. Sincerely, Val
234 | wat dos it realy meen? | Mark 9:1 | Val | 196405
Reincarnation is not in the bible. Where did Christ go after He was resurrected? The whole story of the bible shows that our bodies will be raised one day and be joined with our spirits and we will be changed in the twinkling of an eye and we will be with the Lord forever. My suggestion would be to explain only the things you have studied and are sure of not things you have not studied. Continue to pray for your friend that he would come to a knowledge of the truth. Perhaps he will use some other christian who can explain these things to him or give you an opportunity after you have studied this topic.

236 | Asking, but not receiving. | Mark 11:24 | Val | 201621
The scripture you used means if it is in God's plan. If what we ask is in his plan. There are many many women in the bible who had no children for many years then they had a child in their old age for a specific purpose such as Sarah. There are also many women who had children who were killed such as when Herod killed the children when Christ was born. You must decide to stop focusing on this one part of your life that you are not happy with and pray fervently for the Lord to give you acceptance of his dealings with you. He will. Ask Him for His peace in this situation and He will give you a supernatural peace and contentment. Ask him for something to fill this time rather than continuing in mourning. There are many children perhaps your nieces and nephews who would love for you to visit them and be involved in their lives. Volunteer work or nursery work would be very fulfilling. God loves you. Blessings - Val
237 | Is Jesus "son of David"? | Mark 12:35 | Val | 204455
I would like to add my understanding of this passage if I may. Mark 12: 1-41 I will be using Segment Divisions, Main Characters, Events and Lessons for Life Segment Division - Mark 12:1-12 - Main Characters: The Lord, the religious leaders and the common people. Event - The Lord is speaking to them in parables. The parable of the vineyard. In Verse 12 the religious leaders understood what the Lord was saying. He was talking about them and how they reject Him. The people liked the Lord and the religious leaders feared doing anything to the Lord because the people liked the Lord. The Religious leaders were seeking to seize Him. Lesson for Life: I believe Christ is the only begotten Son of God. I believe the Father sent Him to earth. I do not reject Him. Segment Division - Mark 12:13-17 - Main characters: The Lord, the Pharisees, the Herodians. Event - They are seeking to trap Him in a statement using Caesar. His answer amazes them. Lesson for Life: I will submit to Caesar - the laws of the land. I will submit to God. Segment Division - Mark 12:18-27 - Main characters: The Lord, the Sadducees (who say there is no resurrection). Event - The question concerning Moses writing about marriage. The Lord's answer is that He is not the God of the dead, but of the living - Abraham, Isaac and Jacob live. You are greatly mistaken. - there is resurrection. Lesson for Life: I serve a living God who is the God of the living. Segment Division: Mark 12:28-34 - Main characters: The Lord and one of the Scribes. Event - The scribe hears the Sadduces arguing about resurrection. (You see they believe when you die that's it - no afterlife) So the scribe asks about the greatest commandment. The scribe responded well and the Lord commended him. No one asked anymore questions. Lesson for Life: I will love the Lord with all my heart, my soul and my strength and my neighbor as myself. Segment Division: Mark 12:35-40 - Main characters: The Lord and the Common People. Event - The Lord tells them to beware of the scribes that what they do is for appearance only. What had the scribes just said - that there is no resurrection. Christ said Oh yes there is!!! God is the God of the living - Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; they live even though they have died. And David as well - Christ is David's God. "David himself calls Him Lord". Lesson for Life: Christ Jesus is my Lord Segment Division: Mark 12:41-44 - Main characters: The Lord, Rich People, A Poor Widow, His disciples. - Event - The Lord contrasts what the rich people give and what the widow gives. They give out of their abundance. She gives out of her proverty. The Lord says the widow put in more that all the contributors to the treasury. Lesson for Life: Do not give for appearance sake. Depend on the Lord for my needs. Theme of Mark Chapter Twelve: Christ is the living Lord |

239 | Knowledge of why they are in torment? | Luke | Val | 196506
It is better not to dwell on those who have already gone but rather to be about the business of praying for and proclaiming the gospel to those who are not saved. We can always look to God the Father and His Son Christ Jesus and know that their ways are right and holy. We can committ those who have gone on without professing Christ into the hands of a righteous God. Ask the Lord to give you peace about this situation. He will comfort you.
240 | isaiah7;13 | Luke | Val | 219698
Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city in Galilee called Nazareth, Luke 1:27 to a virgin engaged to a man whose name was Joseph, of the descendants of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. Luke 1:28 And coming in, he said to her, "Greetings, favored one! The Lord is with you." Luke 1:29 But she was very perplexed at this statement, and kept pondering what kind of salutation this was. Luke 1:30 The angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary; for you have found favor with God. Dan 8:16 And I heard the voice of a man between the banks of Ulai, and he called out and said, "Gabriel, give this man an understanding of the vision." Dan 8:17 So he came near to where I was standing, and when he came I was frightened and fell on my face; but he said to me, "Son of man, understand that the vision pertains to the time of the end." Luke 1:19 The angel answered and said to him, "I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to bring you this good news. In the account of Gabriel appearing to Daniel he was frightened in his presence. We see that Mary was told not to be afraid. We may conclude from this that there was something about the angels appearance that would frighten a human being. We are not given those details. |
