21 | Where ARE the four corners of the earth? | Is 11:12 | Taleb | 105603
TommyS, you ask some interesting questions. When I read this question in passing the other night, I knew I knew what you were talking about. At least I hoped I knew. :) It took some digging in my not quite organized filing system to locate an old article that refers to what I gleaned for you. According to the June 19, 1965 "Science News Letter" the four corners are: 1. One of the earth's corners centers over Ireland and sprawls northward towards the pole. 2. Another corner extends across the equator from New Guinea northward towards Japan. 3. A third corner is south of Africa centered about halfway to the Antartic. 4. The last corner is west of South Amercia, with the high point off Peru. If, by chance you desire more info - let me know. Blessings, Taleb P.S. I love how science so often proves Scripture, or is that the other way around. :) |

22 | What tongue or whose tongue will dry up? | Is 11:15 | Taleb | 76993
Ray, The first verses that came to mind is James 3: basically the whole chapter. And, according to Adam Clarke’s to commentary: “Man has one hundred and forty-eight members, some confined, others free. The tongue is placed between the jaws; and from under it proceeds a fountain of water, (the great sublingual salivary gland), and it is folded with various foldings. Come and see what a flame the tongue kindles! Were it one of the unconfined members, what would it not do?” The same sentiment, with a little variation, on Psalm 120:3: What shall be given unto thee, or what shall be done unto thee, thou false tongue? The holy blessed God said to the tongue: "All the rest of the members of the body are erect, but thou liest down; all the rest are external, but thou art internal. Nor is this enough: I have built two walls about thee; the one bone, the other flesh: What shall be given unto thee, and what shall be done unto thee, O thou false tongue?” Also from Clarke's: "Here is a plain allusion to the passage of the Red Sea. And the Lord’s shaking his hand over the river with his vehement wind, refers to a particular circumstance of the same miracle: for “he caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land,” Exodus 14:21. "The tongue; a very apposite and descriptive expression for a bay such as that of the Red Sea. It is used in the same sense, Joshua 15:2, 5; 18:19. The Latins gave the same name to a narrow strip of land running into the sea: He shall smite the river to its seven streams. This has been supposed to refer to the Nile, because it falls into the Mediterranean Sea by seven mouths: but R. Kimchi understands it of the Euphrates, which is the opinion of some good judges." 23 | Size of Jerusalem when The Promised Land | Is 60:1 | Taleb | 72233
Hi!! yourself. According to Genesis (the book of beginnings, the promise land became the promise land. Gen 13:14 The Lord instructed Abram (before Abram became Abraham) to take a good look at all the land which many refer to as the promise land. Shortly thereafter he meet Melchizedek, king of Salem and highpriest of the most high God. I don't think it is coincidence that "Salem" and JeruSALEM seem to be the same place. "Salem" derives from "Peace". The Arabs and the Jews both used a "branch" of that word in their greetings, Arabic - "as salam 'alaikoom" Hebrew - Shalom aleichem. (peace be with you) The "Jeru" part is where most English speakers get into trouble. In Israel, it is Y. There is NO "J" sound in Hebrew. It comes out "Y" Yesua, (Jesus) Yacob (Jacob). That's why Jews snicker when Christians call God "Jehovah." So, before Isaac was even conceived, the Promise Land was the time period the promised land came to be. However, it had been in existance for centuries. According to the Tell el-Amarna letters, a little mountain fort was their a few thousand years before Christ ever walked its streets. By the time Joshua moved into the promised land, Jerusalem was a strong, well protected city. He didn’t even try to take it. If you have been to that city, you know what I mean about its location. There would be wide open fields to cross to get to it, in his day. As more homes were built outside the walls, wars forced them to enclose those homes and businesses behind the walls, so the size of Jerusalem kept growing according to its need. When Hebron was capital of Israel, King David whipped the Jebusites (means "he will be trodden down) which occupied Jerusalem. He made it the new capital, made improvements and built himself a palace. Remember he stood on its balcony when he spotted Bethseba? Solomon improved its defense and built the temple and seemingly added to the city’s size with new fortification and improvements. Wham! In 587 B.C.E. Nebuchadrezzer’s Babylonian (Iraq) warriors demolished the city. Nehemiah rebuilt them almost the same size as they were when they were destroyed. In Jesus’ day, the city was close to the same shape and size as Solomon’s. The Romans, in 70 C.E., as told by Jesus, completely destroyed the city before many of his original follows died. The Moslems took the demolished city of peace about 550 years later. Then before another 500 years past, the Crusaders snatched it from the Moslems, only to lose it back to the Moslems 88 years later, etc. etc. The walls as they are today were built around 500 years ago. It is not close to being the same shape or size. Some areas not in the Jesus’ time are inside now, and visa versa. Even though my feet have often walked the streets of Jerusalem, I will never walk where Jesus walked. But, I CAN follow His steps to eternal life. Shalom aleichem! As salam 'alaikoom! Peace! Taleb |

24 | Very Literal Translation Anyone? | Jer 33:3 | Taleb | 98458
"Call to me and I will answer you and will tell you great and inscrutable things you do not know them." is from my Hebrew English Interlinear. This seems to follow the train of thought that the various translations I have in my library proclaim. I probably didn't help much, but... you can always re-ask. :) Taleb |

25 | What 2 languages was Daniel written in? | Daniel | Taleb | 77976
The portion in question was written in Aramaic. The rest of the book of Daniel is said to CONTAIN certain Greek and Persian words or phrases. The "rest" of the book was, according to the Jews, written in Hebrew. Taleb |

26 | Where was Daniel during Daniel chp 3? | Daniel | Taleb | 77982
Don’t forget, Daniel WAS a high official in the Kingdom. The “Kingdom” wasn’t confined to the “city”. PERHAPS, that was "why" the "stunt" was accomplished - Daniel was "out of town". Rest assured, Daniel, most likely, was not present during the “trial and sentencing”, nor for the songs of praise that rang out of the furnace. (According to my Jerusalem Bible.) :) My “answers” are probably not much help, huh? Taleb |

27 | Help on the 69th, 70th Week of Daniel | Dan 9:24 | Taleb | 80070
Amber, just like truthfinder explained, it IS DONE, FINISHED, FULFILLED. In order to "get any text" to support a so-called "future happening", like that erroneous doctrine spelled out by too many untaught teachers, you must first ignore Scripture throughout. The ‘fiction” writers talk about a "New" Temple being rebuilt. Where does Scripture talk about such? It doesn’t. It only talks about the destruction of the temple which was destroyed in 70 A.D. The same time and event that Daniel wrote about. Right to the year. The ONLY rebuildings of the Temples is found in Old Testament. Every “promise” of the rebuilding WAS WRITTEN before it was rebuilt. Therefore, and forevermore, those prophecies have been fulfilled. In a failed attempt for the "futuristic's" doctrine to sound feasible, they had to ADD the phoney concept that “one prophecy can have two fulfillments” Really? And where in Scripture can you find such a concept? Their reply says it all. "Well, it isn’t in Scripture, but surely that is what God means." Really? I always thought that God ONLY said what He meant. Reading the New Testament, Hebrews for example, discounts any such false notion about rebuilding a future Temple made with hands. In the Old Testament, BEFORE the rebuilding of the temple that Jesus promised would be destroyed, is the only place it is mentioned. And of course the fulfillment was WHEN IT WAS rebuilt, just as the prophecy said it would be. All the old church historians spells out these well-documented facts. Josephus, for one, an eyewitness to the fulfillment of Daniel 9, is one place to start. Every library should have one. Respectfully Taleb |

28 | Help on the 69th, 70th Week of Daniel | Dan 9:24 | Taleb | 80071
Amber, just to add a necessary footnote. The erroneous concept about the Jews returning to their “homeland” also is unfounded. EVERY “returning” was written before they already returned. Jesus NEVER said they would come back. None of His disciples said they would come back after the Gentiles drove them out. Nowhere does Scripture say they will return after that final destruction of their nation and their society. EVERY single “promise” of their “future” return had already taken place BEFORE Jesus prophesied their fleeing, which happened in A.D. 70. The Jewish members of my family will tell you the same things, because they also know what the Old and New Testaments say about this topic. Respectfully, Taleb |

29 | Which 12 tribes of Israel exist today | Matthew | Taleb | 77994
Genealogies stopped when the Jews were dispersed for the last time in 70 A.D. when Jerusalem was destroyed. But ... With Jesus, the Jewish “race” ended. That is something coming from one with “Jewish blood”, yet truth doesn’t change. The Scripture has many genealogies, and they end with Jesus. If you look at Matthew 1, it clues you in to what I am stating. From Abraham to David is 14 generations. From Solomon to Jehoiachin (when they were carried away into Babylon) is 14 generations. From Salathiel to Jesus, who is called Christ, is 13. Yet Matthew 1:17 says 14 each time. Why? You have to understand what it takes to be a Jew. To “be” Jewish, one only has to adhere to their wide-ranged doctrine. You can be a Buddhist Jew – no problem. You can be any race, never intermarrying from Noah, and still become a Jew. Yet, to become a citizen of Israel one only has to be born to a “Jewish mother.” A man decides to become a Jew. He does. He marries a non-believer, she too becomes a Jew. They CANNOT immigrate to Israel. They have a daughter, raised in the Jewish faith. She marries a non-Jew who “converts”. They have children. Her children CAN immigrate to Israel because their mother, not their grandparents, is Jewish. Col. 3:11 explains it better yet. “Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision …. But Christ is all and in all. Taleb |

30 | But are the Jews keeping track of tribes | Matthew | Taleb | 78103
Chusarcik, since the destruction of the Jew’s temple, records kept have been lost forever. While “records are still kept” today, they CANNOT make any connection to anybody prior to that destruction, contrary to what my Mormon relatives claim. To answer you question, I must point out that the “tribes of Judah” and the “kingdom of Israel” does not exactly “go together”. Israel, according to the Old Testament, separated from Judah. Some from the various tribes “joined Judah”. BUT after the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D. those peoples were dispersed into the world, and still are. Their purpose had been fulfilled – that to bring Jesus the Christ into the world. A side note: Abraham received the promise in Genesis 17 about his “seed” and Galatians 3:16 explains EVERYTHING that promise meant. And I quote: “Now the promises were addressed to Abraham and to his Seed – notice, in passing that Scripture doesn’t use a plural word as if there were several descendents, it uses the singular “seed”, meaning Christ.” end quote. Verse 19: “… UNTIL the arrival of the “seed” to whom the promise referred.” So, for anyone to “keep” records, serves no purpose in any plan of God’s. God’s promise, for the entire world to be blessed through Abraham’s “seed”, has been forever completed. Respectfully, Taleb |

31 | What is the story of Luke's genology? | Matt 1:16 | Taleb | 110677
TommyS, I will be glad to "tell the story". Just give me a few days to locate my old notes on it. The reason I became interested in what names mean is when I checked out the meanings of the names and why God wouldn't destroy them in too quickly. (Exodus 23:28-29.) God's special message in those "enemies" names inspired me to check out others. Luke is my "favorite". Blessings Taleb |

32 | What is the story of Luke's genology? | Matt 1:16 | Taleb | 111784
TommyS, here is the “story” of Jesus’ family tree in Luke 3. Just so you are aware, Hitchcock’s defines some of the names in the list different than some of my other sources. It defines Adam as "red earth". However, the Hebrew word Adam is the same word most often translated “man”. Also, the various sources I used, use different definitions one from another. For example, Enoch – some say dedicated, some say preaching, some teaching - either one of which would keep the “flow”. Reading UP in Luke 3 from verse 38 UP to 23, the names spell out the "story" of a GOD-MAN whose purpose was to provide the eternal truth that GOD SAVES. From God, the source of Adam (man) to Christ, the source of salvation, I separated each definition with a comma. GOD, MAN, APPOINTED, MORTAL, SORROW, THE BLESS GOD, SHALL COME DOWN, TEACHING, HIS DEATH SHALL BRING, POWERFUL, REST, THE NAME, RELEASES, SORROW, AS SENT FORTH, BEYOND, AN OPENING, FRIEND, INTERWINED, SNORTER, YOU MAY BREATHE, EXHALTED FATHER, HE WILL LAUGH, WILL TAKE BY THE HEEL, HE SHALL BE PRAISED, BURST OUT, ENCLOSED, HIGH, PEOPLE OF A WILLING GIVER, ENCHANTER, IMAGE, IN HIM IS STRENGH,SERVING, MY MEN, BELOVED, A GIVER, FOLLOWING, SOOTHSAYER, DEAR FRIEND, GOD WILL ESTABLISH, GOD IS A GRACIOUS GIVER, LET HM ADD, HE SHALL BE PRAISED, HEARKENING, JOINED, GIFT OF GOD, GOD IS EXHALTED, GOD OF HELP, GOD WILL SAVE, STIRRED UP, NOT MEASURED, ORNAMENT, HE ADORNED, MY KING GOD, MY LAMP GOD, I HAVE ASKED OF GOD, MELTED BY BABYLON, HEAD, GRACE OF GOD, HE SHALL BE PRAISED, LET HIM ADD, HEARKENED OF GOD, GIFT OF GOD, FROM THIS TIME, ILLUMINATING, RESERVED OF GOD, COMFORTED, BURDEN, GIFT OF GOD, LET HIM ADD, FLOURISHING, MY COUNSEL, JOINED, GIFT OF GOD, ASCENDING, LET HIM ADD, GOD SAVES!!! 33 | Matt 24 Is it all in the future? | Matt 24:1 | Taleb | 78185
Terry, contrary to what many of my study Bibles say, Matthew 24 HAS happened, exactly as Jesus said it would. If you have access to Josephus check out his “description” of the destruction of Jerusalem. It is as though he eavesdropped on Jesus’ prophesy. I have studied and restudied this portion for a few decades. It is exciting to say the least. One thing that is important to notice – Jesus instructed his disciples “Watch out less anyone deceive you.” Notice also Matt 24:14 – “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world, as a testimony to all nations, and the end will come” Compare that to Col. 1:23 – “…be not moved away from the gospel, which you have heard, and which WAS preached to every creature which is under heaven ….” There are SOOOOOOOOO many more verses that back up what many know as truth. Actually, one can take one verse at time and follow through from history's records. Many have done that to gain the same reasoning as I am presenting here. For this time, respectfully, Taleb |

34 | Taleb, When did the Son of Man appear? | Matt 24:1 | Taleb | 78270
Searcher, first off, MANY historians have answered all of your questions. I don’t know how much history you know or have access to, but ... (actually, I like the way I once saw it spelled –HIS-story). Most of Scriptures was written prior to the events under discussion, so HIS-story is often used as another source. Although, let me be quick to add, Scripture DOES contain MANY “proofs”. What Scriptures “begin to say” HIS-story “fills in many blanks". Yes, Searcher, just as Jesus stated in Matt 24:5-6, there WERE false Christs. Listed in Acts 5:36 - Theudas, who mislead 400, another in Acts 21:38 who mislead about 30,000 – both “false Christs” of which Eusebius also made mention. Dositheus proclaimed himself to be the Messiah that Moses had prophesied. How many do you need? Let me know if you need more specifics, or examples. 1 John 2:18 talks about “the anti-christs” (plural), and don’t forget, John was amongst those whom Jesus warned against being deceived. “Little children, IT IS the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even NOW are there MANY antichrists; whereby WE KNOW IT IS THE LAST TIME.” Was John deceived, or did he KNOW the last days Jesus talked about WAS THEN, not 2,000 years later? You wrote, "No wars because the Romans ruled". Sorry, Searcher. But not only were their rumors of wars, there WERE NUMEROUS WARS, as HIS-story reveals. I love Josephus. While I don’t agree with much of his view, basically his facts are facts. Take the war in 40 A.D. 50,000 dead; nine years later, around the time of Passover, up to 20,000 dead. In Alexandria, 50,000 Jews killed. Scythopolis 13,000 plus killed. And these are not the only “wars” fought between the time Jesus said there would be wars, and when the “end” came. ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION in verse 15 is really self-explanatory. Scripture doesn’t say anything about ANY temple being rebuilt after its destruction. And, while Daniel’s talks about two separate abominations, the one Jesus speaks of happened exactly as He said. Every reference to any rebuilding of the temple was before it was fulfilled. There are NO MORE UNFULFILLED prophecies about any temple. PERIOD. According to Eusebius, Josephus and other historians, the abonination of desolation happened often prior to, and after, its final destruction. The Romans soldiers compassed the city, and took control, then they brought their ensigns (a staff with an eagle over the image of Caesar (who claimed to be God) into the temple and offer sacrifices and worship to the image. Verse 29. I just love Scripture, don’t you? When we take here a verse there a verse we either get a warped picture, or a complete picture. This verse gives a complete picture ONLY when taken in connecting with “what else Scripture has to say about the sun, moon and stars. Will you agree that Scripture is FULL OF SYMBOLIC terminology? Check out what Scripture says about the sun, moon, stars and you also will notice what so many others have discovered about this. Then verse 29 will also come alive to you too. Or, do you believe the moon turning to blood as stated in Joel and Acts 2? Verse 30 ties in with Matt 26:64 in which Jesus told Caiaphas, the High Priest, “I tell YOU that from THIS TIME onward, YOU will see the Son of Man SEATED on the right hand of power AND coming on the clouds of heaven.” That sounds like quite a feat, IF Jesus wasn't speaking figuratively. From now on meant it started right then, and Jesus hadn’t even gone to the cross yet. And for Jesus to both be seated and coming ….” Searcher, there is so much MEAT in what this verse states, but because “time” is my ever present enemy, I can’t detail it here and now. Great questions. I welcome more. :) Respectively, Taleb |

35 | Please explain! | Matt 24:1 | Taleb | 78402
First of all Mommaphs, one must understand what Scripture mentions about the “sun, moon and stars”. Jesus’ disciples UNDERSTOOD what Jesus was stating because they understood HOW Scripture continually uses that kind of terminology. Canceling Psalms 148 was a tongue-in-cheek way of saying, contrary to some erroneous doctrines about the end of the world that states the physical destruction of the world, won’t happen. Genesis 37:5-11 is ONLY ONE OF MANY such “mentionings”. Immediately after (no pun intended) Joseph described his dream, Jacob CORRECTLY UNDERSTOOD what the terminology meant – he said, “Are all of us, then, myself, (sun) your mother (moon) and your brothers (stars) to come and bow to the ground before you?” Don't forget. The twelve sons (stars) represented ALL 12 tribes of Israel. Joseph was a "type of Christ". What Jesus told the disciples they accepted it, as all the others through out the Old Testament. The sun, moon and stars, Jesus rerferred to, represented the entirety of Judea and it’s way of life. It is also what Hebrews 12:26-27 mentioned, before the destruction of everything in 70 A.D. that the powers of heaven will be shaken. Why were the “heavens” to be shaken? To REMOVE those things, the things mentioned in the previous chapters of Hebrews, things that men created - e.g. temple, priests, sacrifices, etc. (not literal sun, stars, moon). Why? So those things that are Not Created with hands may remain. What things? Gospel, grace, etc. That's when IT happened, as Jesus said it would. I apologize this is sooooooooo short, when there is sooooooooooooo much that can, and needs to be stated. Respectfully, Taleb |

36 | Taleb, When did Matthew 24:25 occur? | Matt 24:1 | Taleb | 78519
Searcher, thanks for making my day. Your legitimate questions WILL be answered. I look forward to review some of my “old” material gathered over the years. My personal library, its numerous book shelves crammed with overflowing (the excess are stacked by chairs, my desk, under the desk), will get a well deserved “going over”. Matthew 24:15 says a lot about our topic. Plus, the little phrase added by Matthew, “let the reader understand” needs to be heeded. The “reader” includes you and me, right? The one mentioned in Daniel 11:31 and 12:11, the disciples KNEW had been already fulfilled. And the reader needs to understand ALL that Jesus referred to concerning Daniel’s prophecies, if we are to understand WHICH one of the two separate abominations was referred to by Jesus. Daniel 9:26-27 explains. This speaks of the one AFTER Christ, seeing His followers understood the fulfillment of Dan 11-12 in which the first king from the south (Egypt) – according to history – Anticohus Epiphanes was the “second king” from the north (Syria). Just like Daniel said, the Northern king would “perform abominations”. He gave himself his surrname, and it means "the God made manafest". Did you notice the "anti" in his first name? When did did Daniel's happen? According to HIS-story it happened EXACTLY as Daniel predicted during the reign of Anticochus (174-168 B.C.). You can read all about it yourself in any one of many sources. 1st Maccabees for instance, is most likely the source the apostles had about that. Contrary to Scofield’s Bible (1917 edition) which only renders Dan 11:31 to Antiochus, Josephus indicates BOTH 11 and 12 to that wicked king. So WHEN was Jesus’ prophecies, about the abomination (Matt. Mark. Luke. Rev.), fulfilled? It WAS FULFILLED during the time the Roman army surrounded Jerusalem, took the city, entered the temple with THEIR objects of worship and offered THEIR sacrifices upon the altar. That is when. For the best details that Historians have provided, read the “WARS of the Jews, by Josephus. It’s pages follow the predictions to the letter. Famines, earthquakes, etc. Many Bible encyclopedias, Eusebius, Barnes Commentary (which tells us HOW the Roman army fulfills Luke 21:20), Jamison, Fausset and Brown Commentary gives the same data about Mark 13. And the lists go on and on. Respectfully yours, Taleb |

37 | Taleb, Is the harvest done (Mat 13:39ff) | Matt 24:1 | Taleb | 78521
Searcher, Matthew 13 is ONE of my favorite sections of the Gospels. To understand what you are asking you must understand the rest of the verses too. In each of the verses you provided, Matthew 13:39-40, 49; 28:20, plus numerous other verses that not mentioned, say the same thing. Searcher, ALL THE “WORLDS” LISTED IN YOUR VERSES ARE “AIONS” - Strong’s 165. Too often, in Scripture, what was translated “world” is actually Strong’s 165 “aion”. This word means “age as in era”. It is for an INDEFINATE period of time. It has nothing to do with dirt par se. Cosmos, the Greek word from which we get “world”, is listed under Strong’s 2889. It is (as far as I could tell) always translated “World”. In one place "world" is used from two different Greek ones. 1 Cor 3:18-19: “Let no man deceive you,” (Interesting, Jesus also used that same phrase in Matt 24) “if anyone among you seem to be wise in this world (#165), let him be a fool. … for the wisdom of this world (#2889) is foolishness with God.” Through what “ages” have we come? And by “we” I mean mankind. There was the stone age; the middle ages (I wish I was still there); the dark age; the industrial age; the space age; the information age; and in Matthew's day the "AGE" to which everyone KNEW referred to their "present age". Well the end of each of those ages gave birth to a new age. Most overlapped only until the new “age” got going, UNTIL the “old” age came to its end. Therefore, I stand my stand about the end of the age – the Jewish age, the age of the Law and Prophets, THAT “WORLD” CAME TO AN END exactly when, how and where Jesus said it would. The harvest referred to in Matthew 13, etc. was completed. HIS-story details how well. But, every “AGE” has had a time of harvests. We are still in ours! Sometime I’ll go over 2nd Peter 3:10. It’s RICH with truth. Respectfully, Taleb |

38 | Taleb, Do Mat 24:29 - Rev 6:12 differ? | Matt 24:1 | Taleb | 78529
Searcher, most of Revelations and Matthew and Mark and Luke and many other books talk about the exact same fulfilled events. They all quote other previously fulfilled events from history and the Old Testament. Get your Bible out and let’s check out the Scriptures that paint the “completed” picture that Jesus and His apostle John painted prior to the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D. They depict the same ones which transpired as Jesus stated. You need to note that Revelation is ESPECIALLY filled with symbolic language, something the Jew have easily understood for centuries. Many even “talk symbolically” today about everyday details and events. John frequently quotes from Isaiah. For example, Isaiah 34:4 says, “And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree.” Rev. 6:12-14 “And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.” By the way, (you have to read the rest of the chapter AND some history) Isaiah’s prophecy WAS FULFILLED during the judgment of Bozrah and Idumea. And just like the verses in Isaiah 34 say WILL happen did – although the speech was symbolic, like so much of Scripture, IT HAPPENED. And don’t forget Haggi’s. In about 520 B.C., he predicted a “world” disaster. Hag 2:6-7, “For thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land; And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts.” And THIS WAS fulfilled when the temple was rebuilt. A new “AGE” was born to prepare the world for another NEW AGE – the age which prepared the way for the Lord’s birth etc. By reading Amos, Josephus and other material, you will follow how it took place. Just as the disciples understood Matthew – so must we. I like you, Searcher. You’re a person desiring to “cover all the bases.” Respectfully, Taleb |

39 | Resurrection Witnesses: Seeing Things? | Luke 24:16 | Taleb | 98461
Hank, the Muslims claim that the disciples "were seeing things" explains away what they really saw. Often, like the Jews, Muslim use a Bible verse to "prove" their point. Remember the story of the two on the road to Emmaus, after Jesus arose from His grave? "...but they didn't recognize Jesus" If I told you that I saw someone who had died, and I talked with him and then he suddenly disappeared - Or that a group of us were standing in a room and the door was locked and all of a sudden someone from whose funeral we just came, walked through the wall ... Well, wouldn't you draw the same conclusions as the Muslims claim about the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ? _ "You must have imagined it" "How much did YOU have to drink tonight?" While, as believers in the bloody, cruel death of our Lord on that wretched cross, and of His victorous resurrection from the cold grave, we can not, and do not condone such logic, we must understand how Satan can whisper such untruths into their minds. Blessings, Taleb |

40 | ever neccessary/permissable to deceit? | Luke 24:31 | Taleb | 79544
Is it ever neccessary/permissable to deceive? 1 Samuel 16:1-3, in effect, states that the Lord was grieved He had made Saul king. The Lord instructed Samuel to go to Jesse of Bethlehem and anoint one of Jesse’s sons as king. Samuel said, “How can I go? Saul will hear of it and kill me.” The Lord didn't tell Samuel, "Don't worry, I'll protect you from him." God could have protected Samuel, but, rather the Lord answered: “Take a heifer along and say, ‘I have come to sacrifice to the Lord’. Interesting! Often during the days of the Iron Curtain, when those many countries were closed to the Gospel, men and women smuggled tons of Bibles into the land. At the borders, the guards would sometimes ask, “Do you have any Bibles?” The smugglers would be instructed to tell the truth – just not the “whole truth”. They would often have two Bible handy. They would produce a Bible and say, “Yes, I have one right here.” “Do you have more?” They would retrieve the other Bible, reserved for the occasion, look the guard in the eye and tell the truth. “Yes, I also have this one. Would you like it for yourself?” Whether or not the guard took the Bible, the hundreds of others in their possession would enter undetected. Was it “deception”? What was it when the angel helped Peter escape from prison undetected? What was it when Rahab hid the spies? What was it when Esther invited Haman to “supper”, so she could expose his hideous plans to her husband, the king? How many "more" do we need to reveal from Scripture to realize we are in a battle and, because the enemy desires to deceive us, we can surely deceive him? But those two on the road were not deceived because the end result of deception is one believes something that isn't "exactly" true. Those men believed Jesus had risen from the grave - and it still is true. :) Respectfully, Taleb |
