5604 | his or HIS new name in Rev 3:12 | Rev 3:12 | Searcher56 | 63342
Scripture ... Php 2:9; Rev 3:12, 19:16 ... Bienz, greetings. In Greek, new could be "nea," come into existence, like a baby; or "kaine," that which is new and different. It is the latter used in this verse. His name could be the name above all names (Php 2:9) or the King of kings, and Lord of lords, (Rev 19:16). But, we do not know. IMHO, Searcher |

God's day to you Paul S, and welcome to the SBF, I thought about two other passages ... Matthew 6:24 "No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth" (Luk 16:13) 1 Kings 18:21 Elijah came near to all the people and said, "How long will you hesitate between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him." But the people did not answer him a word. Stay, share and seek answers, Searcher |

5609 | What are the seven Spirits of God? | Rev 4:5 | Searcher56 | 7257
Gloria ... We have read of the 7 spirits of God elsewhere in this book (1:4; 3:1; 5:6). BTW, some translations do not capitalize spirit - The Greek does not have capital letters. It is not the seven churches (lampstands) or leaders (stars) of chapters 2 and 3 (1:20). E. Cobham Brewer says "(1) the Spirit of Wisdom, (2) the Spirit of Understanding, (3) the Spirit of Counsel, (4) the Spirit of Power, (5) the Spirit of Knowledge, (6) the Spirit of Righteousness, and (7) the Spirit of Divine Awfulness" These spirits are angels (3:1; 4:5; 5:6; 8:2, 6; 15:1, 6-8; 16:1; 17:1; 21:9), according to someone else. "And the [1] spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of [2] wisdom and [3] understanding, the spirit of [4] counsel and [5] might, the spirit of [6] knowledge and of the [7] fear of the LORD"--Isaiah 11:2 Some may say the last six are all part of the first, spirit of the LORD. |

5614 | Significance of our prayers? | Rev 5:8 | Searcher56 | 9188
Load ... This may be only in the future, or it could include us today. No matter what, our prayers should be significant. They need to be from our full heart, not just empty words. The the context all our prayers are mixed together - crossing all man made lines. We will pray as one, as Jesus wants (Jhn 17:17). Incense orders are given in Exo 30:1-10, and the formula in verses 34-38. Gold is precious ... the bowls are containers, like us and our hearts ... they are totally used "full" ... and the incense means they have an appeal to God. "May my prayer be set before you like incense; may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice" (Psa 141:2) Remember "the prayer of the upright is His delight" (Pro 15:8) Just some thoughts ... Word study ... Come - Erchomai (Strong's 2064) ... dondee, greetings ... I suggest look at the Greek (English does a poor job at times)... Erchomai middle voice of a primary verb (used only in the present and imperfect tenses, the others being supplied by a kindred [middle voice] eleuthomai (el-yoo'-thom-ahee), or [active] eltho (el'-tho), which do not otherwise occur). Emmaus covered the context well. |

Chusarcik, take anything as literal in the Bible, unless there are words that make it symbolic (like, as ...). In this case the "as" is a discription, to help us understand. Searcher
