41 | why evangalise if God has already chosen | Rom 10:14 | Glory Bound | 130685
God knew before time who would and who would not accept his son. Thus, those He knew would, he called the chosen ones, or the elect. Do you know who is and who is not among the elect? Could it be that someone may not be among those chosen by God because you did not tell that someone about Jesus Christ, the son of God? GB |

44 | how do i pray for help? | Matt 6:9 | Glory Bound | 130618
It has been said that the Lord is as close as the tip of the tongue, or He is as close as ones knees to the ground. I attest that He is even closer than that, for according to scripture, He has written His Word in the hearts of His people. We are to pray without ceasing. This is not that our every moment is to be spent on our knees in prayer. What it is is that we are to constantly praise Him, thank Him and make prayerful supplications (to ask humbly and earnestly of), throughout the day. I firmly believe the answer to your question lies in Matthew chapter 6. If for no one else other than yourself and your loved ones, consider 2 Timothy 2:15 in the KJV May God Bless, protect, watch over and be with you and yours. GB. |

45 | Was NT Written in Greek or Hebrew? 1 | Eph 3:19 | Glory Bound | 130615
Other than scripture itself I make no claim of authority concerning an answer to this question, however I would like to inject my thoughts on the matter. It seems that your question has a rather simple answer consisting in the answers to the following questions. (1 and 2) Who wrote the book in question and to whom was the book written? First of all, the NT is more than just one book. It is 27 books with a number of authors, written to various churches and individuals, combined under one name. It is just that; The New Testament. It reveals that which was concealed in the Old. It seems reasonable to assume that if Paul were writing to a Greek Church or individual, he would not use Hebrew. Likewise, if he were writing to a Hebrew Church or individual, he would not use the Greek language and writings. Label me as you wish, but I firmly believe that the learned spawn ignorance and division when they look beyond the simplicity of Gods Word and attempt to complicate it with such trivial and "off the path" matters. I only voice the overall thoughts of scripture. GB |

46 | I am a new Christian and I am trying to | 1 Cor 11:31 | Glory Bound | 130608
Scripture states, and I paraphrase, "nothing of itself is sin." For example, some think it is sinful to eat this or that. Paul says that it is not what goes in to the mouth; it is what comes out of the mouth that is sinful, for it comes from the heart. In the case of gambling; it is not a sin just because it is gambling. Just like everything else though, it can become a sin depending on the circumstances. Scripture also states that “anything” done to the excess is sin. Many think that gambling is sinful because the soldiers cast lots for Jesus’ cloak. If this were true, the disciples would have been sinning when the cast lots to see who would replace Judas. Sin originates as a thought. An Evil desire which when acted on eventually rears the ugly head of sin. If you have doubts concerning what may or may not be sinful, ask yourself the question, would Jesus participate with me in this activity. If you think not, then “to you it is sinful.” This does not mean that it may be sin to another. Many will state, “Sin is sin”! To a degree, they are right. But I would state from scripture “to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin. Jam 4:17. Try judging your own actions in advance… 1Co 11:31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. 1Co 11:32 But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world. 47 | Difference between christian/ disciple | Acts 11:26 | Glory Bound | 130471
"Should we follow jesus teachings are something that man made up." Are you attempting to set up another "soap box"? If so, please learn to indent and capitolize where required. I am proud to be called a Christian! I'm not necessarily proud of the fact that many who profess Christianity know very little, other than what has been so puffed up by mans leaven and, or ignorance, false teachings and divisiveness, that they bring shame to the name. This is why those who are called, are called also to "fight the good fight and profess a good profession." GB |

48 | Too many questions? | Eph 4:18 | Glory Bound | 130469
Perhaps your answer lies in the book of Titus 3:8-11 "NIV" But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless. Warn a divisive person once, and then warn him a second time. After that, have nothing to do with him. You may be sure that such a man is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned. GB |

49 | homosexuality | Lev 18:22 | Glory Bound | 130462
God loves us all, no matter who or what we are. It is the sin, and non acceptance which is non acceptable in His eyes. A homosexual, which is commonly referred to in scripture as a Sodomite. Do a word search in the King James version and see what is stated concerning such. For one thing, they sin against their own flesh. For another thing, our creator looks on that particular sin as an abomination. Pretty strong words. Well, it's a ugly thing if one gets down to the nitty gritty! In OT times, sodomy was punishable by death. The offender never had an opportunity to repent. What Jesus did concerning this fact was to give the offender a path of forgiveness (himself,) and time for repentance. Those who justify, uphold and make excuses for the homo's (sodomites) fool no one other than themselves and the scripturally unlearned, thus making them, as themselves spiritually void, and headed for eternal damnation. We have not the right to judge another, for this is left to Jesus Christ alone. Yet He gave us His word so we could judge the actions. He expects to do just that. Though at the moment one may be directly headed for Hades, we know not what will be the ultimate direction that person will take. Meanwhile we must.... gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will. 51 | Can the soul actually be destroyed? | Matt 10:28 | Glory Bound | 130235
Only by He who made it in the first place, yet He has stated that the distruction of the soul will be eternal. This is the second death in the lake of fire and brimstone. ETERNAL DAMNATION! That's a long time to suffer in a lake of fire with the meanest of the mean and dumbest of the dumb. If you haven't accepted Jusus Christ, which are you? ALL who do not accept the sin debt paid by Jesus Christ on the cross at Calvary on their behalf can be categorized in one of the two above categories. This sounds crude, but it is a fact without the rosy coverings. GB |

54 | Is God a racist? | Deut 17:15 | Glory Bound | 130053
Your question is best answered dirrectly from scripture. Rom 10:11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. Rom 10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. Gal 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. Read the book of Galations. Then reread it. then read it again. As I once pondered this question and finally had my eyes opened, so will you. GB |

57 | How do we OBTAIN mercy? Hebrews 4:16 | Matt 5:7 | Glory Bound | 129975
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God. Deu 4:31 (For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them. We obtain mercy simply because "the LORD thy God is a merciful God" Mercy is obtained through the blood of Jesus. GB |

58 | Rule or Ideal? | 1 Tim 3:2 | Glory Bound | 129963
I doubt you mean it this way, but your thought could very well escalate in the same manor. In such a day as this, your phrase "one woman man" reeks with the stench of the same arguments that grew to advocate same sex marriage. Your thought could very well be interpreted as anti marriage. I know what you appear to be saying, but personally I do not feel right debating a matter which, stated as you have put it, could very well be the opposite of what it appears. If your question is sincere, you might wish to word it a little differently, for I wouldn’t know whether to debate your thought, or light a fire under it. GB |

60 | should I worry about using NIV over KJV | 2 Tim 3:16 | Glory Bound | 129774
To date, there are some very wise answers to your question. The Holy Spirit showed me the NIV shortly after it was published in it's entirety in the late 1970's. At the time I had made up my mind that I was going to read the bible from cover to cover. I started in the KJ reading 10 chapters a day. It wasn’t long till I realized that I simply didn’t understand ½ of what I was reading, but I was determined, so I started reading like this; Today I would read chapters 1 through 10. Tomorrow, 5 through 15. The following day, 10 to 20, and so on. This was a slow process, but I did understand quiet a bit more. At the time, I did not know that there was a bible other than the King James. At least, not one I wanted to believe in. In prayer, I told the Lord one night that there must be something out there that I could understand better than the KJ. I was in the Navy aboard the USS Eisenhower. One day while walking through a passageway, I spied a young fella in a corner reading a book. I don’t know why, but I asked him what he was reading; He stated. “The Bible.” I told him, “it doesn’t look like my bible.” He said. It’s the same as the King James. To make a long story short, I borrowed that NIV from this stranger. We became the best of friends, and through a little monetary persuasion, about 50 bucks for this 10.00 issue, I finally talked him out of that bible. Whereas I was double reading the King James, and understanding, maybe 70 percent of what I was reading, I immediately started reading 60 or more chapters a day in the NIV and understanding 90percent plus. I have determined that I will not be misled when it comes to the word of God. I have scrutinized the NIV in reference with the KJV and the Interlinear Hebrew, Greek, English Version. There is no doubt in my mind that of what scripture is available today, the NIV is an inspired translation which is as good as the best and better than most. Look at Ps 23:5 in the KJ and NIV. Then see what it says in the Good News Bible. If there is that notable a difference, are you wise enough to recognize the others? KJV- my cup runneth over, NIV-my cup overflows (same meaning) Gnb-fill my cup to the brim (there is a large difference between a cup filled to the brim and one which is overflowing.) My favorite passage is 2 Timothy 2:15 Check it out. Your determination and perseverance will pay off. GB |
