861 | Paul or All? | 2 Cor 5:20 | CDBJ | 62982
The way I see it is for all that are new creatures in Christ. When looked at from it’s context it is speaking about those in verse 17. 2 Cor. 5:17-20 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. [18] And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; [19] To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. [20] Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. Verse 17 says any man, then verse 18 picks it up with Paul’s inclusion of himself by saying, who hath reconciled us. Verse 19 further includes all in the world that are reconciled, knowing that their sins are not imputed to them, therefore that group is given the word of reconciliation. As a result all that are reconciled are ambassadors for Christ. i.e. we who are saved are to present the message of Jesus to the world. That’s the way I see it, CDBJ |

863 | How do we test ourselves? | 2 Cor 13:5 | CDBJ | 33437
Robert, I think that you are missing the point that Kalos was trying to make. I think that you will see it after you have been on the forum a while. You are proving your point from God's word that comes from the witness that is within you. There are many on the forum that might come up with the same answers but it is coming from churchianity and not a personal relationship with Christ. There are those that try to lift up a their religion every chance they get to prove some off the wall point and it is usually obvious to everyone but them. In some cases the condition of their soul isn't all that obvious and the Lord gave us a parable to show such a situation. Matthew 13:24-30 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: 25But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. 26But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. 27So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? 28He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? 29But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. 30Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn. You will notice that it wasn't until verse 26 that the tares were recognized and that was because the fruit that came forth was different. This is what Kalos is trying to show them, that they need to examine them selves to be sure that they are in the faith because their fruit is not the same as those that are of pure wheat. |

865 | where does the comma go? | Gal 1:3 | CDBJ | 238684
Greetings and welcome to the forum. The Bible in the original language of the New Testament didn’t use diacritical marks such as commas periods and so on. Diacritical marks are usually the result of an inferior language. The Koine Greek of the original Language, used by the New Testament, was able to accomplish the same function by the use of syntax. 866 | spirtual seed? | Gal 3:28 | CDBJ | 170140
Greetings hobbs, Let me see if I'm hearing you right. Are you suggesting that Gen 12:3 is only talking about believers and not the offspring of Abraham in general? Genesis 12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. "Presuming" that you are right in your opinion, would you say that all of those that God delivered out of Egypt were believers? Many of us, me included, are the wild olive tree and we, only by the grace of God, have been grafted in where the “natural branches” have been “temporally” broken off. The Jews are still the chosen “people” of God and make no mistake about it! I am a firm believer in the following, with emphasis on the word “ALL”. Romans 11:25-28 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. [26] And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: [27] For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins. [28] As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes. CDBJ |

867 | What is Faith | Gal 5:22 | CDBJ | 105557
The word faith comes to us from the Koine Greek word PISTIS with PISTEUO, or believe being of the same root word. It is interesting to note that PISTIS is a transitive verb, which requires a subject and an object; all of the credit goes to the object. Example, If the object of ones faith is defective the best faith in the world won’t help, that why Jesus must be the object of faith for eternal life. If someone is trusting in anything but Christ for eternal life there faith will prove to be defective. John 20:30-31 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: 31But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. 1 John 5:10-13 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 11And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. 869 | Why did my mom die? | Ephesians | CDBJ | 175045
Hi Vince, I’m very sorry to hear about you loosing your mom. It’s interesting to know that this life is only the beginning when it comes to eternity. Do to sin that is in the world there are certain things that are set in motion that can’t be stopped until the Lord returns. God has provided a solution, in the person of Christ, that will take care of our soul and spirit in the next phase of life; the phase that your mother has just entered. 1 Thes. 4:13-18 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. [14] For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. [15] For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. [16] For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: [17] Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. [18] Wherefore comfort one another with these words. I would like to share a poem with you that I put together a while back while noticing a sweet believer grieving over the loss of a loved one. I’m not sure how the format will look but I’m sure you will be able to figure it out. A Voice From Beyond I've passed into a better place of which there is no pain. So loved one keep your grieving short, your loss has been my gain. My state is far much better then the one that you behold. It's the hope that I've been looking for in the days when I’d grow old Though grief may oft consume you with thoughts about our past, Life must go, so please be strong, this grieving will not last. This place is awe inspiring, with much array to view. I've been so overwhelmed with it, I've hardly thought of you. My first day on location I was anything but bored, My first known recollection, I was looking at the Lord. The colors are fantastic, beyond your wildest dreams. Ensuing from His throne on high, an emerald rainbow streams. Enough about my bliss for now, the problem's you're forlorn, And how to rectify the day, from which our love was torn. The secret to life’s happiness is not all that absurd. It’s found with-in the Mighty Script of God’s Eternal Word. So keep yourself in hope I ask, make the Bible your main quest, And the Lord will surely comfort you, and put your heart at rest. Make sure my love of which you trust, in abundance of profession. It must be Jesus, not the church, to support your strong confession. Finally love with much ado, use not your loss for scorning. Weeping may endure the night, but joy cometh in the morning. CDBJ |

870 | Need help with Forgiveness and Sins. | Eph 1:7 | CDBJ | 168446
Greetings, and welcome to the forum. I would like to assure you of several things right from the get go; God loves you so much that it’s impossible for you comprehend it outside of His help and His revealing it to you. The next thing I hope you realize is that we can never, ever, be good enough deserve forgiveness from God; no matter how hard we work at it. God knew from eternity past just how deplorable “all of us are” and He is the only one who could rectify our problems. Romans 3:10-12 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: [11] There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. [12] They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. That’s the bad news, that none of us can ever be good enough; now for the good news. God came up with the solution for what had to be done to rectify our problems, then He even did all the work that was necessary to fix it, and then He says He will give it to us as a “GIFT”, now how great is that. God established the penalty for our sin; and then in order to show His great love for us, He leaves His place of Glory in heaven, becomes a man, and takes the entire wrath, which He, God, demands for sin by dying on the cross. Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 2 Cor. 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. God actually makes us as righteous as He is by placing us in Christ positionally: the Key to being made the righteousness of God are the words “in him”, in Jesus. The God of all creation became a man and poured out His life blood for you and me. Acts 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. All that God ask you to do is totally trust in the fact of what Jesus did for you on the cross and rely on the finished work that Jesus provided: that’s how one becomes a member of God’s family. The Bible calls it faith, faith in God’s unique Son. John 1:11-12 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. [12] But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: The solution to being forgiven of all our sins is to receive Jesus and believe in His precious name. If one fully trusts in the work that God’s Son did, it is said that they hear the voice of Jesus calling them. John 10:27-30 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: [28] And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. [29] My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. [30] I and my Father are one. John 6:40 "For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him, may have eternal life; and I Myself will raise him up on the last day." 1 John 5:10-13 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. [11] And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. [12] He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. [13] These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. I sure hope you are putting all of your desire for forgiveness in what Jesus has already done for you! Ephes. 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast. Have a great day, CDBJ |

871 | Assurance of salvation | Eph 1:7 | CDBJ | 219148
Greetings, There are many things that “well meaning” pastors have asked people to do in order to have salvation in Christ and when people do them they are literally just jumping through someone’s “psychological hoop”. Examples: Come forward, ask Jesus into your heart, say a specific prayer, give your heart to Jesus, yield to the calling, turn your life over to Christ, confess your sins to God, the list goes on and on. The best thing to do is to read what Scripture actually says not what some assume! Matthew 7:22-23 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. For starters: Why was the book of John written? John 20:30-31 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: 31But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. The book of John was written so that people might believe that Jesus is God’s appointed one, the very Son of God Himself, and that He personally came to Earth to pay the price that God demands for us to have eternal life. The word believe, through out the Bible, is what confuses most on their spiritual road to salvation. The English word for believe doesn’t even come close to what the word meant in the original language. In the English it means to give mental assent to something but in the Koine Greek, of the New Testament, is means to thoroughly have confidence and trust in something without faltering in ones trust of the object. Ephes. 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9Not of works, lest any man should boast. One is saved by GRACE through the action of faith. Faith has no merit in and of it’s self, it demands an object! The object of faith for salvation is where the merit resides and that object “Must” be in the person of the one and only Son of God, Jesus Christ and what He accomplished on the cross. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Couple that verse with the following Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; The previous verse is accomplished when one puts “all of their hope for eternal life” in the Saviour that God provided, His uniquely born Son, Jesus Christ. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. The very moment one believes the gospel or good news that Jesus paid our price God the Holy Spirit seal us and makes us one of His own. Galatians 3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. Ephes. 1:12-13 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. 13In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit actually enter into the new believer and reside in that person’s life from then on. John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Once a person has Christ in their life “through believing”, i.e. faith in Jesus Christ their eternal future is sealed. These are promise from God Himself and God can’t lie! They aren’t some assumed actions that one thinks they must do for eternal life, all that stuff is nothing more then works which will end in eternal condemnation. John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. Have a great day, CDBJ |

874 | What is "one baptism" in Eph. 4:5? | Eph 4:5 | CDBJ | 119453
Hello fish07456, Welcome to the forum. I have always been lead to understand that Eph. 4:5 was a reference to something that unifies as one, as the Koine Greek word, HEIS, would imply. There is only one baptism that unifies all believers and that is the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Water baptism does everything but unify, it divides, if you know what I mean; water baptism, from living examples, tears believers apart! The only way baptism could be one, is if believers don’t get their fingers in the pie, as it were, to mess it up and the baptism of the Holy Spirit is the only one that is done for us and to us without our having a hand in it. Matthew 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: Ephes. 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, That’s my viewpoint and it’s not meant to start a longwinded debate on the forum, take it or leave it, I won’t respond! 875 | WHAT IS TRUTH? | Eph 4:15 | CDBJ | 160448
Truth never changes with time. Malachi 3:6 (A) For I am the Lord, I change not; Many times is our court system they quote,” you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free”. Most that quote these words don’t even have a clue that this is speaking directly of Jesus Christ, the Son of God! John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. 876 | 1 Peter 3:7 ALSO Ephesians 5: 25-27 | Eph 5:22 | CDBJ | 156534
Greetings and welcome to the forum, I don’t know if you are talking about yourself or someone else but the situation you are suggesting almost sounds like the first stages manifested by people that have, what psychologist call, an obsessive compulsive disorder; i.e. “a control freakâ€. This type of condition only worsens with time even to the point of becoming a cult, as it were, if special council is not sought early. It can get so bad that the victim, of such a condition, starts to assume a guilt complex, thinking that the problem is their entire fault. Such a person at best can get over it by a steady diet of good Bible teaching; others at worst may need to be deprogrammed buy a professional Christian psychologist that is very skilled in the Word of Truth. If this is the case, and I hope it’s not, get help as fast as possible and remember the following. 2 Tim. 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Jesus tells us, Matthew 11:28-30 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. [29] Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. [30] For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Happy in the Lord now, knowing Jesus, CDBJ |

877 | Is Church needed for high spirited ones? | Eph 5:25 | CDBJ | 129432
Hi Calmrage, ??? Many times believers grow to the point that they don’t see the need for church, as it were. They are over feed and don’t realize that they are the ones that should be feeding others. It’s not of a necessity that they need the church as much as it is the church, local assembly, needs them. Ephes. 4:11-13 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; [12] For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: [13] Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: Older believers are to help the younger believers by what they have experienced. The older should be assisting the young believers with their struggles and even the more so as times will get tougher, just before the Lord returns. Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. The word in the English “exhorting”, come to us from the Koine Greek word, PARAKALEO, and it infers coming along side to help out by bolstering others up. That’s pretty hard to do without being in the same location, i.e. the local assembly. Have a great day, CDBJ |

878 | rest v. work | Philippians | CDBJ | 112300
The particular person that you suggest must be further along then the apostle Paul. Philip. 3:12-14 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. 13Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. It sounds to me like they are getting their salvation mixed up with rewards. Hebrews 4:1-6 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. 2For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. 3For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. 4For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. 5And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest. 6Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: The key words are in verse 4:2, the gospel mixed with faith. This is referring to salvation not rewards! Have a great day, CDBJ |

879 | confused by Acts 2:34 | Phil 1:23 | CDBJ | 221871
Greetings MMBE, While waiting for Brad I could interject something that might help clear the air, if that’s OK? Man in his original state as created in Adam has a body, a soul, and a spirit. When Adam sinned his spirit died that very day, Genesis 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. What is being spoken of in Acts 2:29 and 34 is the bringing back to life the function of the BODY as in the resurrection, when a new eternal body designed to last forever will be issued. 1 Cor. 15:23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. David’s body is still in the ground but his soul is with the lord. This is possible since Christ emptied Abraham’s bosom or the place of the departed dead; i.e. the ones who had trusted in God’s Messiah that was to come. Ephes. 4:8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. Those that died in the Old Testament had to be kept there until their sins were completely removed by the finished work of Christ. Up until then their sins were only covered and waiting for the removal, by the perfect Lamb of God, that would take away the sin of the World, i.e. Jesus the appointed one. The spirit of man is that part of man that perceives the things of God and since we all die or are dead in the spirit from birth we can’t understand the things of God. 1 Cor. 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. That’s why man, in order to see the things of heaven, must be born again. John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. I hope this helps, CDBJ |
