601 | When you have finished setting aside a t | Deut 26:1 | CDBJ | 176282
Greetings KP and welcome to the forum, Your statement in part, “I know we are give a tenth of our wages”. It’s interesting that you use, Deut. 26:1 "And it shall be, when you come into the land which the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, and you possess it and dwell in it, I take it that you are an Israelite left over from the days of Moses? Just kidding but if you reread the verse I think you will get my drift. The ten percent that “was given” was the same as a tax so that the nation could survive. We are under a different set of obligations, 2 Cor. 9:7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. Some give over eighty percent and some less then one percent and the Lord loves it. There is no set amount and it would behoove one to brake down the previous verse as to what it actually says. The missed conception that God will bless a person because they give X amount of dollars is antithetical to the message of grace and the sooner one learns it the better off they will be. We can't buy a blessing from God, as it were. Some people give to the point that their family members actually have to suffer need because the parent doesn’t know enough doctrine to come in out of the rain. They have done more harm with their giving then they have good and Paul defines their action. 1 Tim. 5:8 But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. I have heard people say that their father was a “Bible believing man” and they virtually starved when they were younger because of their father's giving to the church, and if that’s the Bible message they want nothing to do with it. It sure makes it tough when trying to convey the gospel message to them and that God loves them. I remember our old pastor saying that God isn’t broke and he doesn’t need our money, and if God doesn’t support a particular church it’s going to go under no matter how much a person gives. That’s a different message then we get now days isn’t it? God loves a “cheerful giver” and enjoy the forum, CDBJ |

602 | The Wrath of God, real or imagined | Deut 32:4 | CDBJ | 174663
Hello Pukalanian, I’ve read all of your posting so why don’t we just cut to the chase! You evidently don’t believe what the Bible says, but regardless of how we as humans got in the mess that we find ourselves in, how do you propose the situation be corrected? Since we are all on a collision course with physical death and the judgment of God, what is the recommended action needed to solve the problem or don’t you believe we even have a problem? Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: CDBJ |

603 | Absolutely perfect? | Deut 32:22 | CDBJ | 18481
Lanny, are you saying that you have no sin? Give I JOHN 1:8 a good hard look before you answer this. If your answer is yes, why did God have John pen verse 1:9? You are a new creation in Christ if you trust in Jesus you receive a new nature but the old one is still in existence till the day you die physically. The apostle Paul didn't even have a walk that was sinless, are you saying in effect that you are doing better then the apostle Paul, I am just curious
604 | Eternal Fire | Deut 32:22 | CDBJ | 19249
Johnny, I think that the passage that you pointed out, Jude 1:7 is a lot clearer in the NASV. If you would think about it, the verse isn't talking about a city as a place but the constituents of that city, because a city can't commit fornication or go after strange flesh. I hope this helps, CDBJ
605 | day and night at the same time | Joshua | CDBJ | 168231
Greetings Joyis and welcome to the forum, I think you might be looking for the following. Joshua 10:12-13 Then spake Joshua to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. [13] And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day. Have a great day, CDBJ |

606 | Where is David finding hidden daggers at | Judges | CDBJ | 163894
This might be what you are looking for? Judges 3:16-24 But Ehud made him a dagger which had two edges, of a cubit length; and he did gird it under his raiment upon his right thigh. [17] And he brought the present unto Eglon king of Moab: and Eglon was a very fat man. [18] And when he had made an end to offer the present, he sent away the people that bare the present. [19] But he himself turned again from the quarries that were by Gilgal, and said, I have a secret errand unto thee, O king: who said, Keep silence. And all that stood by him went out from him. [20] And Ehud came unto him; and he was sitting in a summer parlour, which he had for himself alone. And Ehud said, I have a message from God unto thee. And he arose out of his seat. [21] And Ehud put forth his left hand, and took the dagger from his right thigh, and thrust it into his belly: [22] And the haft also went in after the blade; and the fat closed upon the blade, so that he could not draw the dagger out of his belly; and the dirt came out. [23] Then Ehud went forth through the porch, and shut the doors of the parlour upon him, and locked them. [24] When he was gone out, his servants came; and when they saw that, behold, the doors of the parlour were locked, they said, Surely he covereth his feet in his summer chamber. Judges 3:25-28 And they tarried till they were ashamed: and, behold, he opened not the doors of the parlour; therefore they took a key, and opened them: and, behold, their lord was fallen down dead on the earth. [26] And Ehud escaped while they tarried, and passed beyond the quarries, and escaped unto Seirath. [27] And it came to pass, when he was come, that he blew a trumpet in the mountain of Ephraim, and the children of Israel went down with him from the mount, and he before them. [28] And he said unto them, Follow after me: for the Lord hath delivered your enemies the Moabites into your hand. And they went down after him, and took the fords of Jordan toward Moab, and suffered not a man to pass over. Have a good day, CDBJ |

607 | Cultural issues/difficult issues | Judg 19:24 | CDBJ | 168732
Greetings Joanne, Those are interesting issues alright that you have suggested. But the big leading issue and one that was brought up by Jesus and found in Matthew needed to be settled with the disciples before Jesus could work with them or with us today. Matthew 16:13-16 Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, He began asking His disciples, saying, "Who do people say that the Son of Man is?" [14] And they said, "Some say John the Baptist; and others, Elijah; but still others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets." [15] He said to them, "But who do you say that I am? Once this issue is settled in ones life the other issues seem to fall right in place. So with that in mind, who do you personally say that Jesus is? Have a nice day, CDBJ |

609 | difference of wisdom and understanding | 1 Kin 3:28 | CDBJ | 209912
Greetings and welcome to the forum. The Bible says, Proverbs 4:7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. (Bible Knowledge Commentary) 4:7-9. As stated in 3:13-15 “nothing” can compare with wisdom. Therefore it is supreme, well worth all the effort and cost involved in acquiring it. As wisdom is valued and loved (cf. 4:6), she gives honor (3:16), and an attractive life, pictured as a beautiful wreath (1:9) and a crown of splendor (used in 16:31 of gray hair, or age). The opposite is also implied: a foolish, unwise life is dishonorable, unattractive, and shameful. Solomon experienced both wisdom and folly and therefore both kinds of results. Psalm 119:104 Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way. Psalm 119:125 I am thy servant; give me understanding, that I may know thy testimonies. Psalm 119:130 The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple. Psalm 119:144 The righteousness of thy testimonies is everlasting: give me understanding, and I shall live. Psalm 119:169 Let my cry come near before thee, O LORD: give me understanding according to thy word. Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. These are a few for a start; I hope you enjoy the forum. CDBJ. |

Hi Sakura and welcome to the forum, The verse that might answer your question is as follows. 1 Chron. 15:16 And David spake to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brethren to be the singers with instruments of musick, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding, by lifting up the voice with joy. I think this might come close to answering your question. 2 Chron. 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. CDBJ |

614 | When were we a Christian Nation? | 2 Chr 7:14 | CDBJ | 107864
Hi justme, Much to the shock of many, there is no such thing as a Christian Nation. People aren’t saved just because they belong to a certain nation or even a particular family group. Exhibiting and adhering to Christian principals doesn’t make a nation Christian, just as doing things that Christians do doesn’t make one a Christian. Just because my wife and I have been saved doesn’t mean that our children are saved. God doesn’t have any grand children only children, and they become that way only by personal faith in God’s Son. Galatians 3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. This is all done on an individual basis as God reveals truth to those that have a desire to know Him. Have a great day, CDBJ |

615 | The Angel of the Lord Protect Believer | Job | CDBJ | 239666
Romans 11:33-34 (NKJV) 33 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! 34 "For who has known the mind of the LORD? Or who has become His counselor?" I will answer your question if you can answer the one that I have that leads to the one you have asked. God is omniscience, which is part of His essence; that being the case, that He is all knowing, why did God create Lucifer who God knew would become Satan and start the ball rolling with regards to all sin evil and deception? By answering my question yours will fall into place, CDBJ AGAIN: Romans 11:34 (NKJV) 34 "For who has known the mind of the LORD? Or who has become His counselor?" |

616 | Why does God respect Satan's opinion | Job 1:8 | CDBJ | 233066
Greetings, It’s God’s way of showing Satan that he is barking up the wrong tree and with it he is able to bless Job beyond measure while still in this life. Now you can answer a question for me, one of the same nature. Why did Christ give those spirits in prison a lesson on the failure of their intended mission? 1 Peter 3:18B-20 but quickened by the Spirit: 19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; 20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. The left their first estate in order to corrupt the seed of mankind so that the Messiah couldn’t come in the flesh from the seed of a totally human woman, but why did Christ have to show them that the weren’t successful in their endeavor ; they didn’t deserve to know? 617 | Verification of Ps.83:1-18 being fulfill | Psalm | CDBJ | 174973
Hi Vilmain3 and I hope you enjoy the forum, Many verses of Scripture have types and antitypes and I am sure that this verse could be applied to some degree. I know one thing for sure, I fully agree with the author of the Psalm! I doubt if those spoken of in Psalm 83 were as cowardly as those assaulting Israel to day. Brave warriors don’t hide in amongst a woman and her children and innocent people for their protection. Have a nice day, CDBJ |

618 | five verses in Psalms 119 | Psalm | CDBJ | 199755
Greetings and welcome to the forum. I was told that there were only three so I went through is very carefully and I thought there were five as well when I was finished. The key to remember is the different ramifications of the Word, such as law, statutes etc. How many did you find? CDBJ |

619 | In Heaven a-way from pain | Ps 23:4 | CDBJ | 34889
Grace7044, I write poetry and here is a poem that I wrote for a Christian that lost a loved one in the Lord. I am not sure how the format will come out on the forum but I hope you can read it. A Voice From Beyond IIve passed into a better place of which there is no pain. So loved one keep your grieving short, your loss has been my gain. My state is far much better then the one that you behold. It's the hope that I've been looking for in the days when I'd grow old Though grief may oft consume you with thoughts about our past, Life must go, so please be strong, this grieving will not last. This place is awe inspiring, with much array to view. I've been so overwhelmed with it, I've hardly thought of you. My first day on location I was anything but bored, My first known recollection, I was looking at the Lord. The colors are fantastic, beyond your wildest dreams. Ensuing from His throne on high, an emerald rainbow streams. Enough about my bless for now, the problem's you're forlorn, And how to rectify the day, from which our love was torn. The secret to life's happiness is not all that absurd. It's found with-in the Mighty Script of God's Eternal Word. So keep yourself in hope I ask, make the Bible your main quest, And the Lord will surely comfort you, and put your heart at rest. Make sure my love of which you trust, in abundance of profession. It must be Jesus, not the church, to support your strong confession. Finally love with much ado, use not your loss for scorning. Weeping may endure the night, but joy cometh in the morning. I hope this helps, CDBJ |
