Mass confusion? Your post as follows, in part: “In Revelation 9:1-6 the fifth seal, God is instructing Satan what he can and can't do durning his five month tribulation here on earth) I’m not quite sure what translation you are using but in my NASB the fifth seal is opened in the 6th chapter in verse 9. Revelation 6:9 (NASB) 9 When the Lamb broke the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God, and because of the testimony which they had maintained; I also can’t find in chapter 9 where Satin’s name is even mentioned; and are you confused between the seals and the trumpets? I also wasn’t entirely clear where the tribulation is only five months in duration: I can’t find that at all! Please advise, it’s not clear, CDBJ |

562 | Will God forgive and accept me again? | NT general | CDBJ | 238747
Greetings and welcome to the forum. The main question is, do you believe what God says in His Word? You would best start off with, 1 John 1:9 (AMP) 9 If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously] cleanse us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action]. The next step would be to memorize the following. 1 John 5:10-13 (AMP) 10 He who believes in the Son of God [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Him] has the testimony [possesses this divine attestation] within himself. He who does not believe God [in this way] has made Him out to be and represented Him as a liar, because he has not believed (put his faith in, adhered to, and relied on) the evidence (the testimony) that God has borne regarding His Son. 11 And this is that testimony (that evidence): God gave us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12 He who possesses the Son has that life; he who does not possess the Son of God does not have that life. 13 I write this to you who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) the name of the Son of God [in the peculiar services and blessings conferred by Him on men], so that you may know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that you [already] have life, yes, eternal life. It seems as though you are having a hard time believing what God says. What is truth, your feelings or what God says? Ephesians 1:13-14 (AMP) 13 In Him you also who have heard the Word of Truth, the glad tidings (Gospel) of your salvation, and have believed in and adhered to and relied on Him, were stamped with the seal of the long-promised Holy Spirit. 14 That [Spirit] is the guarantee of our inheritance [the firstfruits, the pledge and foretaste, the down payment on our heritage], in anticipation of its full redemption and our acquiring [complete] possession of it—to the praise of His glory. Read the Gospel of John and trust in the promises that God presents! I hope you enjoy the forum and gain confidence in what the Word of God is telling you! CDBJ |

563 | ye are the salt of the earth and if the | NT general | CDBJ | 240267
Greetings, All that the forum members can do it communicate Scripture. It’s the responsibility of those hearing God’s Word to be receptive to the teaching of the Holy Spirit who is the real teacher. You should be asking the Father for understanding if you are one of His. John 6:45 (NKJV) It is written in the prophets, 'And they shall all be taught by God.' Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me. (JESUS) Those that aren't controlled by the filling of the Spirit while witnessing of the works of the Lord are operating in the energy of their flesh, i.e. the old sin nature, and have lost their effectiveness as it were like salt that fails to preserve. John 3:18 (AMP) 18 He who believes in Him [who clings to, trusts in, relies on Him] (JESUS) is not judged [he who trusts in Him never comes up for judgment; for him there is no rejection, no condemnation—he incurs no damnation]; but he who does not believe (cleave to, rely on, trust in Him) is judged already [he has already been convicted and has already received his sentence] because he has not believed in and trusted in the name of the only begotten Son of God. [He is condemned for refusing to let his trust rest in Christ's name.] CDBJ |

564 | Where is MOAB today? Isaiah 16 | Genesis | CDBJ | 40102
MO´ABITE, MO´ABITES (mo4´a-bi3t). Descendants of the elder of Lot's two surviving daughters, as the Ammonites are of the younger. The starting point of both was in the vicinity of Zoar. Thence the roving Ammonites went to the NE (see Ammonites), whereas the more peaceful Moabites remained near their ancestral home, displacing the Emim (Deut. 2:10-11; cf. Genesis 14:5). Territory. According to Smith (s.v. “Moab”), the territory of Moab at its greatest extent included three parts: (1) The “land of Moab” (Ruth 1:1-2), a tract enclosed by natural fortifications; on the N by the chasm of the Arnon, on the W by the cliffs that rise almost perpendicularly from the shore of the Dead Sea, on the S amd E by a semicircle of hills that opens only for the Arnon and another Dead Sea torrent. (2) The “land of Moab,” the more open country from the Arnon north to the hills of Gilead. (3) The so-called “plains of Moab” (Numbers 22:1), “the sunk” district in the tropical depths of the Jordan Valley. Before the arrival of Israel, Sihon, king of the Amorites, had taken from “the former king of Moab,” very possibly Zippor the father of Balak (Numbers 22:2), all the land “from the Arnon to the Jabbok” (Numbers 21:26). Thus Moab was penned up in the closely fenced “land of Moab” mentioned above (no. 1). Coming up from Egypt the Israelites approached Moab through the desert facing Moab, outside the bordering circle of hills on the SE. They were forbidden to molest the Moabites in the enjoyment of the land that they had taken from the Emim (Deut. 2:9-11). They therefore applied for permission to pass through the territory of Moab and, being refused, went around its borders. From (Ungers Bible Dictionary) |

568 | Languages spoken after the Flood. | Genesis | CDBJ | 235568
Greetings and welcome to the forum. This might help your understanding; It’s from, “Hard Sayings of the Bible”. Genesis 11:1-9. One Language Before Babel? Genesis 11:1-9 is the record of the departure from one language and common speech to a plurality of tongues in the human race. This event took place at the tower of Babel, where mortals had decided that they would "make a name for [them]selves [lest they be] scattered over the face of the whole earth" (Genesis 11:4). A recently discovered Sumerian tablet also tells for the first time from an extrabiblical perspective the story of a time when all languages were one on the earth. The problem therefore is this: why does Genesis 10:5, 20, 31 describe each of the descendants of Noah's three sons as having differing languages when this was not supposed to have happened until the next chapter? Isn't this a mistake (called by scholars an anachronism) on the part of the writer of Scripture, in that it is a misplacement in time and space? The Bible does not represent itself as always desiring to present its material in a strictly chronological sequence. Often it prefers to present it in a topical sequence. For example, the three temptations of Jesus in the Gospels are found in three different arrangements because the aim of the author was to present them so as to make the preaching and teaching point of theology that each had in mind. Likewise, the writer of Genesis jumps ahead of himself for the moment to describe what happened to the descendants of Noah's three sons, even though it outdistanced the story that he would resume in Genesis 11. This technique is typical of the writer of Genesis. There is another clue in the text itself that demonstrates that this is so. In Genesis 10:25 it mentions "one [who] was named Peleg, because in his time the earth was divided." Here is a clear allusion to the confusion of languages at the tower of Babel that will be described in the next chapter (Genesis 11: 8-9). Since Peleg in Hebrew means "to divide" or "to split," it is more than likely that he received his name in memory of this event. Hard Sayings of the Bible. 571 | Sin to Smoke? | Gen 1:1 | CDBJ | 150815
There isn’t an actual verse that says that smoking is a sin as such, but the following could be applied. Romans 14:23 (B) for whatsoever is not of faith is sin. 1 Cor. 6:12 All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. 1 Cor. 10:23 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not. I once heard a fellow say, in order to overlook his inability to quit smoking, “smoking doesn’t send a person to hell”, and someone else quipped, “no but it makes you smell like you’ve already been there!” I used to smoke 40 years ago and I could never seem to kick the habit, no matter how bad I knew it was for me or how hard I tried, I was hooked big time! Shortly after believing in the Lord Jesus as my personal Savior I realized that smoking didn’t fit into my new life style, that I wanted to live for the Lord. I decided to quit smoking cold turkey and every time the urge hit me I would pray to my new found help, the Lord, that the craving would go away and after “many” weeks it did; that is one more thing I that I praise Him for! Ephes. 3:20-21 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, [21] Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. Have a great day, CDBJ |

573 | time lapse between Gen 1:1 and G | Gen 1:1 | CDBJ | 239772
Greetings and welcome to the forum. Your question is in regards to Gen: 1:2 and the length of time. Genesis 1:2 (NKJV) 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. This is a highly controversial subject in some Christian circles. “The earth was”, is actually translated from the Hebrew words, (tohu wabohu), which suggest that it became something different then how it was created. It literally became a garbage dump that stinks. This would explain what the agenda was of Satan when he was cast out of heaven along with one third of all the angles. What most refer to a six day of creation, with this theory in mind, would actually be six days of restoration so the earth would be sufficient for the life of mankind. Along with this thesis is what is called the concept of the angelic conflict as a means of settling the assumption by Lucifer, that a loving God couldn’t send any of his creation to a place of fire and brimstone for an eternity. The creation of mankind being lower then the angles, more or less, settles this misconception with out any doubt, which the following confirms about Satan’s useless rebuttal; Matthew 25:41 (NKJV) 41 Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: When ever an unbeliever believes in the finish work of Christ on the cross it resolves the angelic conflict and clarifies that God is not only a God of love but a God of absolute righteousness and justice, i.e. the essence of God’s Holyness. “What the righteousness of God demands the justice of God must execute!” Lucifer’s stay of execution is drawing to a rapid close when he and one third of the angel will be cast into the lake of fire along with all unbelievers at the white throne judgment. 574 | measure day\night no sun or stars | Gen 1:3 | CDBJ | 72329
You might want to try this on for size? This is for you not for them! Genesis 1:1-2 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. [2] And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. If you have water with no light there is a absence of heat and thus you have what we call Ice. The word moved in the KJV is from the Hebrew word, RACHAPH, a primitive root; to brood; 1 John 1:5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. Tie this with Hebrews 12:29 For our God is a consuming fire. Now the results are light and a lot of heat that will melt the icepack that is surrounding the earth as the Lord moved around and brooded over it. God was brooding over the earth just like a mother hen would do for her chicks to warm them up and He was the first light mentioned in Gen. 1:2. Now to maintain this equilibrium of heat to sustain the earth God uses the sun and the rest of our universe to hold it all in check. It all adds up to a fantastic plan and he is still in control weather your scientific friends want to believe it or not! You can never convince someone of anything unless they want to know the truth and even then it is the Lord who will reveal it to them. They don’t need proof to understand the Bible they need Jesus Christ. 1 Cor. 1:18-21 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. [19] For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. [20] Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? [21] For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. Have a nice day, CDBJ |

575 | Where did this light come from? | Gen 1:3 | CDBJ | 74539
This is a copy from post #46903 The light was very God himself. Genesis 1:2 B And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. He actually brooded over the waters, thus from a sovereign decision his glory was found above the waters. i.e. the light. 1 John 1:5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. |

576 | Did the day or night weigh less? | Gen 1:5 | CDBJ | 166492
Greetings dawntarver. The Bible doesn’t make mention of either one. I personally don’t think it’s pertinent in a Bible study. But here is something that works for my own personal satisfaction. You can try this on your own and it OK to do it at home. Take the width of the mass of dark times the height squared, divided that sum by the speed of dark; adding this to the cube root of the speed of light. This should result in a factor of 3.08673 that can be used to calculate the dispersion rate of dark from the onset of a suggested 1,000,000 lumens of light, but this only works with a number base of ten and in zero gravity. Now if you want to figure it at a constant atmospheric pressure at sea level, which is 14.7 inches of mercury and a mean temperature of 92.2 you will have to change your number base and find the differential of light refractions that are in operation on any given day; this is due to pollutants and the absorption rate particulate matter. The moisture content of the air usually changes faster then I can work the problem where I live so I decided to walk to work instead of taking my lunch. Have fun, CDBJ |

578 | 'Dying you shall surely die'? | Gen 2:17 | CDBJ | 198807
Greetings Royfish316 and welcome to the forum. I was taught the meaning of Gen 2:17 exactly the same way you have it listed. I think if my memory serves me right, that the words “'Dying you shall surely die”, comes from the Hebrew construct and I would like to find that translation as well. I believe the English form of that would be as follows: Because of their disobedience, i.e. eating the forbidden fruit, their spirit died that very day and it set in motion and action that would result in their finally dying physically. Genesis 5:5 And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died. I was taught this when I was a young Christian close to forth years ago while listening to tapes from a pastor in Huston Texas, who was very well versed in the Hebrew language. The end results are that Adam, through procreation, wasn’t able to pass on a living spirit; that part of man that communicates with God and understands His message; thus the need to be born again. 1 Cor. 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. Couple that with: John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. The word (SEE) or (EIDO) in the Koine Greek could be literal or figurative and mean understanding. I sorry I can’t help you further but I hope you enjoy the forum. CDBJ |

You don't accept Ezk. 28 as describing the fall of Satan yet you say that he was made in the six day period of creation. Where do you find that Satan by name was made during this period? (With all due respect, I don't accept your unpopular interpretation of when he was made.) Is it in your way of thinking that the king of Tyre was an anointed cherub? By the same train of typology, do you not think that Psalm 22 is in reference to Christ? It was always my understanding that Satan was Lucifer at one time, Isaiah 14: 12-16, or don't you accept this either? How could the sons of God shout for joy, at the creation of the Earth, if God created them the same time that He created the Earth, Job 38: 7. Please inform, as this is a strange view that I have never heard of before. CDBJ
