121 | Are they the same God | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 235739
Greetings, Just to set the record straight: God didn’t say what is written in “most” of our English translations of God’s Word. Exodus 20:13 (KJV) 13 Thou shalt not kill. The more exact translation for kill, in the English, is taken from the Hebrew word, “RASAH” and it should read as it is found in the NASB or New American Standard Bible. Exodus 20:13 (NASB) 13 "You shall not murder. Murder is used with reference to a civil code where as to kill is referring to the function of military forces in a time of war and believers are supposed to be the best at it while under God’s instruction. Psalm 144:1 (NASB) 1 Blessed be the LORD, my rock, Who trains my hands for war, And my fingers for battle; CDBJ |

The best translator of the Bible is the Bible it’s self. Matthew 16:28 (NKJV) 28 Assuredly, I say to you, there are some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom." Matthew 17:1-3 (NKJV) 1 Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves; 2 and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light. 3 And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him. Suffice to say with the exact dates in question, that the original Word of God wasn’t divided into chapters and verses. The Bible was divided into present-day chapters by Stephen Langton about 1200 CE. Verses were separated and numbered by Robert Stephanus in 1557. What I am trying to say is, when Matt. 16:28 is connected with Matt. 17:1-3, i.e. no chapter brake, the situation makes sense. It tells who the individuals are and what they saw. Text taken out of context is usually for a pretext! CDBJ |

124 | which cult dREW Christianity baPTISM | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 235749
Greetings and welcome to the forum. There are some who would contend that baptism was first practiced by the Egyptian cults and it was also practiced buy the Israelites of old but the actual facts are as follows. The word baptism is actually a transliteration from the word, “BAPTIZMA” and it was “first used” by Homer in his infamous Homeric Epics the Iliad and the Odyssey. The first use of baptism was depicted by a sword being plunged into a blood bath, this was a tempering process that hardened it and it gave it an association with the blood from that point on. We, being those that have put the entirety of their faith in the Son of God and the work that He finished on the cross, are "then" plunged into water. A ritual, like an oath, "to show" our eternal association with Jesus Christ our Saviour, God the Father and God the Holy Spirit from then on. It’s interesting to note that the Bible revels two types of baptism, one being wet, which is a ritual and the other one being dry, which is real. Matthew 3:11 (NKJV) 11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, (i.e. a change of thinking about the person of Jesus the Christ) but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, (because He is the Lord God all Mighty) whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. (One and or the other as a believer or an unbeliever) I hope this helps and that you enjoy the forum, CDBJ |

125 | Are they still alive | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 235759
Then the answer is: yes they are still alive, it was Peter, James and John and yes they saw Christ in His glory and kingdom and yes they did "taste" of death, i.e. absent from the body and face to face with the Lord. No biblical verses to prove it at this point, since that isn't what you say you wanted, CDBJ |

127 | What season was Jesus born in. | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 235778
Greetings and welcome to the forum. The correct answer to your question isn’t actually expressed and this has been a hot topic for years. Just trying to determine the actual year is hard enough. Extra biblical efforts place it around 7 to 4, will say BC and it had to be fairly warm for the trip to be plausible so likely spring sometime but again no one knows. Sorry I couldn’t be of much help but I hope you enjoy the forum. CDBJ |

First point under the rules of terms of use. The Forum is not intended to provide or be a source for answering test or homework questions of those that are students. 129 | what is grace | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 236146
Greetings and welcome to the Forum. Grace is all that God is free to do for mankind on the basis of what Jesus Christ did on the cross. It can not be earned or worked for, if it could be then it wouldn't be grace. There is a play on the word GRACE (God's Riches At Christ's Expense) Grace is actually the plan of God for mankind since Jesus was here the first time. Have a great day, CDBJ |

132 | what does the name jesus mean | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 236467
Greetings and welcome to the forum. The name Jesus was first used, though in a different form, back in the Old Testament. The one who delivered the people of God from their wonderings in the desert into the promise land, Joshua. The proper Hebrew spelling is yehoshua, pronounced, yeh-ho-shoo-ah. The meaning is the same in Hebrew and Greek, “God is salvation”. When looking at the word in the Koine Greek of the New Testament it is Iesous and pronounced, ee-ay-sooce, which when used in the English we pronounce it Jesus. Notice what it says in the following: Isaiah 7:14 (ASV) 14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. This not a so much a name as it is a title. In proper English format it would be, “with us is God.” Luke 2:11 (ASV) 11 for there is born to you this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord. This verse is telling us the same thing that is said in Isaiah 7:14, i.e. the one born to the human race this day is none other then the very Lord God Himself. This was determined from the divine decree from eternity past, when it was decided by the God Head that the second person of the trinity would voluntarily become a human being. As God He can’t die because God is eternal life but as a man could die. By doing this the Second person of the Trinity would be the anointed and appointed one, for the payment of the penalty for man’s sin. This isn't imputed to anyone until they have total undivided faith in the work trhat Jesus accomplished on the cross. From the time He became Jesus the Christ, at that point in time He became the most unique individual in existence. He is different then God the Father and God the Holy Spirit in that He is a man. He is different then any man in that He is God; He is the God Man. He is 100 percent God and at the same time He is 100 percent man; He is the God Man. Hebrews 1:6-8 (KJV) 6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him. 7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. 8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. 133 | what does the bible have sorragate paren | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 236523
Hello and welcome to the forum, I hope you enjoy it. There is no specific biblical information in the Bible regarding these exact terms but I can tell you that the old sin nature has been passed down to all of us through the male of the species having originated through dear old Adam. 1 Corinthians 15:22 (NASB) 22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. Jesus Christ is the only one that has ever been born without an old sin nature because His mother was Marry and His Father was God Himself therefore no old sin nature. 2 Corinthians 5:21 (NASB) 21 He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. Now there is a deal that one doesn’t want to pass up! Have you come to the place yet in your spiritual experience where you can say that you’ve acquired the righteousness of God? Matthew 5:20 (NASB) 20 "For I say to you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven. Have a great day, CDBJ |

134 | In what year did Jesus die? | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 236527
Greetings and welcome to the forum. The exact day that Christ died has been kicked around for years. I can tell you this much; where people really get mixed up and confused is due to the fact that the Jewish day starts in the evening 6:00pm. Now where the religious factions gets it all balled up is due to the mentioning of the next day being the Sabbath, which when it happened, the day after the 14th of Nissan on the Jewish calendar, they all assume that to be Saturday but the fact is the day after the 14th of Nissan isn’t a regular Sabbath or Saturday but a High Sabbath due to the feast of unleavened bread which that year fell on a Friday and not a Saturday. This being the case, and without having to perform all of the mental gymnastics, it makes it easy for Jesus to have been in the grave three full days and three full nights. You can have the internet figure it out for you using these parameters to determine the exact year that Christ paid our penalty, as a substation for our sin. Have you totally trusted in and relied on what Jesus did for you that day when He personally died on the cross for you? When you do God will place the Son in you as a gift from the Father and you in Christ causing you to become a new creature. 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV) 17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 1 John 5:10-13 (KJV) 10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. I hope you have a beneficial Easter, CDBJ |

135 | where does the soul go after death | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 236534
Greetings and welcome to the forum. Since Jesus Christ, as the appointed lamb of God, has paid the total price demanded for the penalty of sin, man if free to be escorted into the very presence of God. 2 Corinthians 5:6-8 (NKJV) 6 So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. 7 For we walk by faith, not by sight. 8 We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. In the Koine Greek of the New Testament it is (PROS in the accusative case which informs us that God actually causes us to be face to face with the Lord) Here is a promise you can take to the bank. John 3:18 (NKJV) 18 He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. I hope you find the forum useful an a blessing, CDBJ |

136 | KIJ Only? | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 237851
Your question: (Is the rest really just a back seat and not worry too much about this?) For starters the NASB is about as close as one can get to the original language of the Koine Greek. Now doing what you suggest is like letting a baby fend for its self after it is born! We are commanded to study God's Word on a daily basis. 2 Timothy 2:15 (NASB) 15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth. It’s impossible to know the will of God apart from the Word of God. CDBJ |
