621 | Have they been chosen | NT general Archive 1 | CDBJ | 140103
Greetings naenae33, and welcome to the forum. The verses in Rev. 7 use the word sphragizo in the Koine Greek and sealed in the English, is also used in with reference to believers in Ephes. 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Ephes. 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Reason follows that God would only call those whom he knew would fit into His plan; even though I don’t think there is evidence, that at the time, Rev. 7, the 144,000 were believers yet, even though they were sealed. Romans 8:29-30 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. [30] Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. Scripture informs us that even before we believed in Jesus that God still knew we would believe in His Son so from the foundation of creation we were chosen us in Christ. Ephes. 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: No one but God knows why but who argues with the reasoning of God? Col. 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: This includes the 144,000 that God has sealed; so from all indications I would say that they are chosen. Hi Kalos, The verse that speaks of the Eagles, Luke 17:37 And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together. The verse is nothing more then Hebrew Idiom and all it means is the following. Where ever people are, there justice will be handed out. Have a great day, CDBJ |

623 | when will the rapture take place | NT general Archive 1 | CDBJ | 139810
Greetings speedypena04 and welcome to the forum, The rapture won’t come like a thief in the night with regards to the believers. 1 Thes. 5:4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. I don’t believe it will occur until after the peace and safety guy shows up to proclaim his message of deception; but believers are warned that this will take place and are told not to fall for deceptive stories form any one, whatever the means! 2 Thes. 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; The “theys” and “thems”, or unbelievers, are going to fall for this guy hook line and sinker; the line, will be the peace and safety ploy and the sinker will be the 666. 1 Thes. 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. The adversary is going to have his last fling or vengeance toward the Jews and Christians but since we know its coming we will be ready. Rev. 12:12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. Unbelievers are going to be having hay days, but for those that trust in Jesus it’s going to be rough; but we are given a promise of deliverance. Matthew 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. Check out the following web site, http://www.solagroup.org/ Have a great day, CDBJ |

624 | What Pentecostal am I? | Bible general Archive 2 | CDBJ | 139685
Greetings and welcome to the forum, In all of that testimony I didn’t read where you were a child of God and or a believer in Jesus. There are no tags on me, other then the fact that I am a son of God by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Why do you feel that you have to pigeonhole yourself; isn’t just being in the family of God and knowing for sure that you are secure in Christ, by the work of God through His Son enough? What are you looking for and why is it important unless you aren’t secure yet in Christ? CDBJ |

625 | a time for every purpose under heaven | Eccl 3:8 | CDBJ | 139645
Hello “He-man”, Very interesting case and point and I am glad that you brought up Rome as the example. Rome in the days of their popularity or glory was better known as SPQR All of the history records will show that the fall of SPQR was due to their military infra structure breaking down. The best defense that a country can have is a great offense. No body wants to end up on the short end of the stick and as a result nobody wants to mess with a country that has a strong and powerful military. No one has ever won a war defending something; all they are doing is postponing defeat. The only way to win a war is, historically explicit, attack, attack and attack! Jesus told us what the future would be like and in order to be a survivor it was obvious what was needed to be done. This has been the life history of the Jews. Mark 13:7 And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet. The peace doves are very delicious when prepared right!!!!!!!! Have a nice day, because some brave American has paid the ultimate price in battle so that you can have a nice day! CDBJ |

626 | War and the Bible | Eccl 3:8 | CDBJ | 139600
Hello He-Man, I think that when a “true Christian” is called on to representing his country, as well as the Lord in battle, that he should be the best killer in his division!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1 Samuel 29:5 Is not this David, of whom they sang one to another in dances, saying, Saul slew his thousands, and David his ten thousands? Psalm 144:1 A Psalm of David. Blessed be the Lord my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight: One of the most decorated heroic military types alive today is a born-again “he-man” by the name of Captain Howard! 627 | What is Matthew 6:25 refering to? | Matt 6:25 | CDBJ | 139544
Greetings Toughbeans81 and welcome to the forum, I learned a good rule of thumb from a pastor teacher, who was a real student of the original languages, with over 30 years experience in the Koine Greek; he was a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary (Summa Cum Laude). He suggested one could derive a good meaning from the word, “therefore”; try substituting the words in your mind, “as a result”. CDBJ |

629 | Levitate, go to heaven, or the City? | Rom 11:25 | CDBJ | 139441
This particular verse doesn’t tell us where we shall be, as you have stated, but this we do know. John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. This is a pretty safe assurance, don’t you think; whether we are levitating or gravitating, if it good enough for the Lord its good enough for us CDBJ |

You are absolutely right; I didn’t understand the question then nor do I yet understand the pertinence of the question even now, with respect to the Bible! Why should we have to know all of the ramifications of hypnosis in order to understand and study the Bible? Do you suppose that the Apostle Paul disseminated the message of hypnosis along with the message of the Gospel? 1 Cor. 2:1-5 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. [2] For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. [3] And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. [4] And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: [5] That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. 634 | Does the Lord still heal people today? | Phil 3:10 | CDBJ | 138653
Hi Chaser and welcome to the forum, There should be no doubt in any ones mind that the Lord can do anything that He sees fit, that is in compliance with His master plan, be it healing or anything else for that matter! The one thing that people should realize is that any healing that takes place in these bodies, that we reside in temporally, isn’t going to last like the healing that God has provided for our souls through His precious Son; that healing last forever! I have heard of many believers being healed of one thing or another but according to my recollection they all died sooner or later of one thing or another; some sooner then others. It’s kind of like curing someone of a chest cold while they have the bubonic plague. Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Have a great day, CDBJ |

637 | Did Jesus have brothers and/or sisters? | NT general Archive 1 | CDBJ | 137925
Greetings joelno1rb and welcome to the forum, Since this is a Bible forum let the Bible be the final word. John 7:5 For neither did his brethren believe in him. Galatians 1:19 But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord's brother. There are certain denominations that would argue this fact to protect a fallacy that they have concocted as church doctrine even though Scripture says differently. They claim that the Greek word for brother is misconstrued and it could be a cousin. Have a great day, CDBJ |

638 | Christian Berating Evangelism | NT general Archive 1 | CDBJ | 137686
Greetings KathylnKY and welcome to the forum, With regards to your post the following comes to mind. Philip. 3:14-19 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. [15] Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. [16] Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing. [17] Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. [18] (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: [19] Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) I remember when I first became a Christian that I would Bible whip people to death, almost. That’s just about all my wife heard for two months, after I trusted in Jesus, until the Lord revealed the truth to her about Christ and she then also believed! In my early years as a believer my enthusiasm sure turned off a lot of people and I muddied up a lot of water but on the other hand many came to faith in Christ also. I think, now that I am older, that many times we have to win the opportunity to speak to people about the Lord and be in a position as stated in the following verse. 1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: People must see something in one’s life that cause others to want to know more about what the believer has, to the point they, the unbeliever, will ask questions; when that happens the Lord will have them prepared for the message of the gospel. I am always looking for a subtle way to introduce God’s Word into a conversation with others, with out being obnoxious in the process. Matthew 10:16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. One must remember the following, of which I still stumble on some times, Matthew 16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. All of our effort of trying to push the gospel message down people’s throats doesn’t mean anything, unless God “reveals” the truth to them; then they can have a personal relationship with God through Jesus His Son. Many times believers try to do their best at a job that actually belongs to the Holy Spirit. John 16:8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Have a great day, CDBJ |

Isn’t it great that today we have the revealed Word of God in writing, the Bible! 2 Tim. 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 2 Tim. 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Psalm 119:160 (ASV) Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever. Some of the people that claim that they actually hear God speaking in an audible voice might want to consider a compentant Doctor before something bad happens to them! Have a great day, CDBJ |

640 | How to teach people to hear God's voice? | John 10:4 | CDBJ | 137345
Greetings Bodie, 1 John 5:10 (A) He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: John 6:45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me. People that are taught of God don't have to be convinced, they know! To say other wise whould be like explaining the color red to one who has been blind all of their life! Have a great day, CDBJ |
