Greetings Teppie2007 as another newcomer to the forum. The actual word “church” as found in the New Testament didn’t actually begin until the day of Pentecost. Christ made first mention of it though in the following. Matthew 16:18 (NASB) "And I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades shall not overpower it. CDBJ |

324 | There are a few righteous in the Bible | Rom 3:10 | CDBJ | 188762
Greetings INRI and welcome to the forum. The salvation message has be the same since the beginning of sin by man. God in His matchless love will provide the solution in His chosen one the Messiah. The Old Testament saints looked forward to Messiah’s coming and we of the New Testament look back; we are privileged to know that it is Jesus. Romans 10:1-4 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. 2For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. 3For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. 4For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. I hope you enjoy the forum, CDBJ |

325 | second try on luke 12 thur 15 law. | NT general Archive 1 | CDBJ | 188705
Hello justsombody, A partial answer to your question might reside in the original language of the New Testament. Luke 14:3 And Jesus answering spake unto the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath day? The word “lawyers” in the Koine Greek is the word, NOMIKOS pronounced, nom-ik-os. Here is the meaning from “Strong’s Hebrew and Greek Dictionary” Greek 3544, Strong’s from Greek 3551 (nomos); according (or pertaining) to law, i.e. legal (ceremony); as noun, an expert in the (Mosaic) law - about the law, lawyer. This might get you started, CDBJ |

326 | Why would he leave his servants? | 1 Thess 4:17 | CDBJ | 188685
Greetings M.Royal, Good question: The end times of the gentiles and the return to Israel all takes place in the 7th chapter of Revelation. Romans 11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. The 144,000 is the main body of repopulating force the God will use when His grafts back in the natural branches. The 144000 are sealed “against God’s wrath” just before the angels release their destructive powers on the earth. This repopulating group will start the population process along with a small remnant in the days following the cleansing acts of God. Rev. 7:2-4 And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, 3Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. 4And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel. I think a lot of people get confused while reading the book of Revelation because it’s “not written as a progressive” book. There are lists epics mentioned, Example: Topics A, B, C, D, and E, then it may go back and explain the details of A and B at length and then move to C and how E fits or ties in with A and B. Rev. 12:6 And the woman (Israel) fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. Rev. 12:14 And to the woman (Israel) were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, (3 ½ years) from the face of the serpent. Have a great day, CDBJ |

327 | What is the differance? | 1 Thess 4:17 | CDBJ | 188644
Hi M.Royal, The tribulation, as it were, is satanic vengeance against God people. Luke 21:22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. The Lord will remove His loved ones and as soon as He does He will pour out His wrath on the one left that have refused His grace message of the gospel. The day of Christ and the day of the lord are two different events but both taking place on the same day, once we are removed up to safety. God is literally going to hammer those that are responsible for making our lives miserable in the last days. Those believers that endure the worst persecution that God’s people have ever endured since will be delivered, i.e. saved from the hideous working of Satan’s man the antichrist. Matthew 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) 2 Thes. 2:1-5 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 5Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? Speaking of Jesus and when He comes for His own. 2 Thes. 2:9-12 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. The big problem is that believers “are being deceived” into thinking that they won’t have to endure any persecution so as a result they won’t be ready for what’s going to befall them. But will pour out His wrath on the tormentors and it will be on the very same day that Jesus come to be glorified in His elect. 2 Thes. 1:8-9 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 9Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; Just like it was the day Noah was put safely in the arc and just like “the day” that lot left Sodom. 2 Thes. 1:10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. 329 | defiling bodies by eating meat? | Bible general Archive 3 | CDBJ | 187951
Greetings Angel72 and welcome to the forum, Would the following verses suggest, with your train of thought, that the voice that Peter heard wanted him defiled? I realize that isn’t the primary interpretation but it would reflect a practical application in view of the command to kill and eat. Acts 10:10-16 And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance, 11And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth: 12Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air. 13And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat. 14But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean. 15And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common. 16This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven. 331 | in rev 7:9 what significance do the palm | Revelation | CDBJ | 187825
Hi Shantrell and welcome to the forum, Here is a section from the Revelation Commentary, which is a great help and it's free. a good one to save as a favorite. http://www.revelationcommentary.org/ 8. Palm branches in their hands immediately reminds of us of the Lord’s entrance into Jerusalem days before His death. The palm frond is an ancient symbol of victory. That these individuals are no doubt waving them before God the Father and God the Son suggests a celebration is taking place. John 12:13 records a similar event. The multitude waved palm fronds before the Lord as He rode into Jerusalem. They said, "Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord (God the Father), even the King of Israel." 333 | Why do we teach otherwise? | 2 Thess 2:3 | CDBJ | 187793
Hi MR What “most believers” don’t realize is that the word “coming”, with reference to Christ and the rapture, isn’t a verb, which designates action. The Koine Greek word is “PAROUSIA”, it’s actually a noun describing an event and the length of time involved starts at the moment that Jesus appears in the clouds and ends when He establishes His earthly kingdom. Just as the first advent of Christ covered a total of aprox. 33 years so the second advent of Jesus will be a period of time with different epochs of doctrinal being fulfilled within that time frame. The point in time that most believers know as the rapture just get it all started. 2 Thes. 2:9 Even him, whose coming (PAROUSIA) is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 2 Tim. 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. You might want to pick up a book called, “The Sign”, (ISBN 1-58134-067-2) It is the most informative book that I’ve ever read on eschatology and it’s so easy that even I can understand it. Have a great day, CDBJ |

336 | Christianity vs Churchianity? | Matt 7:21 | CDBJ | 186505
Greetings, That's an easy one for me. I use to ask myself that same question many times; then one day it dawned on me, every day I found myself praising the Lord for who He is and what He did for me in the person of Jesus and I love His Word, the Bible. Doing something like that just isn’t normal for a guy like me and it’s been going on now for over 40 years! Some how the Lord changed my thinking habits and my life has changed when I put “all” of my future in Jesus hands and trusted in Him. 2 Cor. 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. How do you fit into the picture with regards to the following verses? John 20:30-31 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: 31But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. Read it again ---------- “Why” was it written??????? Wow, that’s eternal life! 1 John 5:10-13 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 11And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. 2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. Church doesn’t have anything to do with having eternal life its all “Jesus” and what he did and who He is that matters. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Have a great day and believe what the God that created this whole universe is promising you in His Word the Bible; if you can’t believe God and trust Him then who can you trust?? CDBJ |

337 | The importance of Christian Doctrine | Bible general Archive 3 | CDBJ | 186428
Greetings and welcome to the forum. If that’s a question, here is what God thinks about His Word. Psalm 138:2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. Before anyone can assimilate Bible doctrine, the written Word, they must first have a personal relationship with the incarnate living Word Jesus Christ. John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. I hope you enjoy the forum, CDBJ |

340 | HOW DO I GET GOD TO TALK TO ME TOO!! | Bible general Archive 3 | CDBJ | 186338
Greetings and welcome to the forum. If you are looking for feelings I think you might have entered the wrong forum. This Bible form is dedicated to the study of God’s Word and what the Bible teaches which is pro on promises and low to near extent on feelings. The way one feels isn’t the criterion for truth, what the Bible affirms is truth whether one feels it or not. 2 Tim. 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; Emotional highs are usually followed by emotional lows but God’s truth remains constant forever! Have a nice day, CDBJ |
