Greetings and welcome to the forum. John 10:24-28 The Jews therefore gathered around Him, and were saying to Him, "How long will You keep us in suspense? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly." 25Jesus answered them, "I told you, and you do not believe; the works that I do in My Father's name, these bear witness of Me. 26"But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep. 27"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; 28and I give eternal life to them, and they shall never perish; and no one shall snatch them out of My hand. 204 | Compare Creatures Ezekiel Revelations | Ezekiel | CDBJ | 211266
Greetings and welcome to the forum. Here is the subject from the (Bible Knowledge Commentary) with reference to Ezekiel Ezekiel 1:10 As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle. CF Ezekiel 10:14 And every one had four faces: the first face was the face of a cherub, and the second face was the face of a man, and the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle. (BKC) 1:10. In recording more details of the cherubim (vv. 10-14), Ezekiel first described their faces. The front of each cherub was the face of a man, and on the right side was the face of a lion. The left side was the face of an ox, and the face of an eagle was apparently in the back. Some interpreters feel that these represent intelligence (man), power (lion), service (ox), and swiftness (eagle). However, it seems better to see the faces as representing the highest forms of life in God’s created realm. Man was mentioned first because he was the acme of God’s creative work. He was followed by the lion, “king” among wild beasts; the ox, one of the strongest of domestic animals; and the eagle, the “lord” of the birds. 10:14. Ezekiel then described the faces of the cherubim a second time (see comments on 1:10). However, an apparent discrepancy exists between these two descriptions. In chapter 1 the cherubim had the faces of a man, a lion, an eagle, and an ox; but in chapter 10 they had the faces of a cherub… a man… a lion, and an eagle. Some have suggested that a later scribe mistakenly copied “a cherub” in place of “face of an ox.” A second view is that the face of an ox was, in fact, the normal understanding of the face of a cherub. In Akkadian literature the (cognate of “cherub”) appear to have nonhuman faces I sure hope you enjoy the forum, CDBJ |

205 | the world will be destroyed by fire | 2 Pet 3:7 | CDBJ | 210405
Hi Joycee and welcome to the forum. Here are some more verses that you might want to add to your collection, they also give an approximate time when it will occur. 2 Thes. 1:7-10 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, 8In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 9Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; 10When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. 206 | Does Christ come into our hearts? | Rom 10:9 | CDBJ | 210298
Greetings Meta, I have no doubt that you were saved when you asked Jesus to come into your heart. The not so obvious situation lies in the fact that what you suggested doesn’t describe “how” you were saved but “when” you were saved. The ONLY means of salvation is by grace through faith, Ephes. 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9Not of works, lest any man should boast. Jesus doesn’t come into ones heart just because they quote some magical phrase as it were, but because they believe and trust in who He is and what He has done for them. The truth be known, you were probable saved minutes before you even opened your mouth because mentally you were trusting in Christ and believed in Him or you wouldn’t have been asking Him to do something for you in the first place. I know what the verse in Romans says about with the mouth confession is made etc. but relying on that verse alone would suggest that a mute couldn’t be saved and we both know better. You quoted the following verse. Ephes. 3:17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, The following verse plainly states that Christ dwells in our hearts by asking him in there right? I jest but I think you see the point? 2 Tim. 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Have a great day, CDBJ |

208 | difference of wisdom and understanding | 1 Kin 3:28 | CDBJ | 209912
Greetings and welcome to the forum. The Bible says, Proverbs 4:7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. (Bible Knowledge Commentary) 4:7-9. As stated in 3:13-15 “nothing” can compare with wisdom. Therefore it is supreme, well worth all the effort and cost involved in acquiring it. As wisdom is valued and loved (cf. 4:6), she gives honor (3:16), and an attractive life, pictured as a beautiful wreath (1:9) and a crown of splendor (used in 16:31 of gray hair, or age). The opposite is also implied: a foolish, unwise life is dishonorable, unattractive, and shameful. Solomon experienced both wisdom and folly and therefore both kinds of results. Psalm 119:104 Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way. Psalm 119:125 I am thy servant; give me understanding, that I may know thy testimonies. Psalm 119:130 The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple. Psalm 119:144 The righteousness of thy testimonies is everlasting: give me understanding, and I shall live. Psalm 119:169 Let my cry come near before thee, O LORD: give me understanding according to thy word. Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. These are a few for a start; I hope you enjoy the forum. CDBJ. |

209 | Where is 'Be in the world not of the wor | John 18:36 | CDBJ | 209910
Greetings, You might be looking for the following. John 17:15-18 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. 16They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 17Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. 18As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. 1 John 2:15-17 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. 210 | speaks against the Holy Spirit | Matt 12:32 | CDBJ | 209872
Greetings Jack5505, What Jesus said is 100 percent correct but the question should be, what does blasphemy of the Holy Spirit entail? Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is actually refusing the working of the Holy Spirit which is taught in John chapter 16. John 16:7-9 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. 8And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9Of sin, because they believe not on me; If anyone refuses this work of the Holy Spirit, which is convicting the world about who Jesus is and what He did for their sin, there is no hope for them be it in this life or the one to come. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. God tells us that we can know for sure that we have eternal life before we die and that’s by fully having faith and trusting in what Jesus has done for us on the cross. Everyone that doesn't completely trust “only” in the work that Jesus did for them is actually condemned already and they don’t have to die to find out. John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. That means right here and now. If one doesn’t know for sure that they have eternal life right now means they aren't "truly believing" in Jesus and look at the category that they fall into. The witness in the following verses is the Holy Spirit Himself who enters the one believing in Jesus at the very moment they fully trust "ONLY" in Christ. 1 John 5:10-13 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 11And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. I hope this clears things up, CDBJ |

211 | What is the purpose ? | Mark 10:15 | CDBJ | 209749
Greetings, You post is one that doesn’t figure out properly. All “real believers” of today, and or any day have already been born again or they wouldn’t be “real believers”! One who isn’t born again is doomed to an eternal lake of fire. John 3:3 Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." John 3:5 Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. John 3:36 He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him." 1 John 5:10-13 He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. 11And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. 213 | How many Gods | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 209733
Greetings and welcome to the forum. What does it mean when the Bible says God is one? (Excerpts from pastor R.B. Thieme Jr.) i.e. the “oneness” of God. From Name the characteristics of God; God is: 1. Sovereignty, -- superior will, i.e. over and above all others. 2. Righteousness, 3. Justice, - God’s Righteousness and Justice make up His Holiness. 4. Love, 5. Eternal Life; “Technically speaking”, no beginning or end as compared to everlasting life that is provided by God for man. 6. Omniscience, Omni - meaning -- “all knowing” 7. Omnipresence, ----------------------- “all present 8. Omnipotence, ----------------------- “all powerful 9. Immutability, -- Constancy or the ability to never change. 10. Veracity, ---- Absolute truth, always trustworthy, without error. This list isn’t complete but it pretty well explains what God is like in essence. In this sense the Bible tells us that God is one. There is no one else in existence, other then God, that has ”all of these special” characteristics! We can say therefore, that “in essence”, God is one; there is no other like God. i.e. God is the only one that exist that has these essence, if anyone could display all of these essence, they would in fact be God, plain pure and maybe not so simple, but true. The Bible points out that there are in fact actually three “distinct” and “separate personalities” in existence, and “each personality” exhibits “all” of these essences or characteristic, as God. The Bible describes them as, “first person” or The Father, “the second person” or The Son, and “third person” or The Holy Spirit. When the Bible speaks of God as being “One” it’s a reference to His essence, but when it expresses “Three” it’s a reference to the distinct and separate personalities that contain all of these exact same essence. I hope you enjoy the forum. CDBJ |

214 | what does the Bible say about suicide? | Matt 22:37 | CDBJ | 209592
Greetings and welcome to the forum, The act of suicide is a violent act of one superimposing their will over and above the will of a loving God. The moment that the Lord is through with his saints on this Earth He is fully capable of taking them home to be with Himself, but as long as we, as believers are still residing on this miserable Earth be assured that God has a plan for them. But if one chooses to eliminate themselves form God’s plan for their life that means they will miss out on the blessings that He had planed for them in time as well as in eternity, i.e. being a faithful servant. There are no problems that the Lord can’t handle if one is willing to trust in the Lord’s provision. Romans 8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. Philip. 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. It is a tough thing to go against difficulties in this life but it is worst to carry them into the next life and miss out on the blessing that could have been theirs for eternity. Christ fought temptation with Bible doctrine, one needs to claim God’s sure promises and be a winner believer. Ephes. 3:20-21 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, 21Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. CDBJ |

215 | Is a good conscience enough for salvatio | Rom 2:7 | CDBJ | 209287
Greetings Finder, Be assured that no one will ever be saved because of their “good works”. The payment, or wages, for works done by those that are lost are pronounced in the following. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Religion focuses on a person trying to gain God’s approval as dead works. The work that Jesus did on the cross completely finished all that is needed for man’s eternal relationship with a Holy God, i.e. eternal life. Where the problem comes in is that most aren’t willing to completely trust in God’s solution for sin which is God’s Messiah or Christ, that’s why Jesus said what he did in John 14. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. The key to eternal life is found in the person of Jesus the Son. John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: The word believe, is PISTEUO in the Greek and it means to have faith and trust in and rely on the person of Jesus. Once a person puts their undivided trust in the person of Jesus, Christ Himself comes into that person and indwells them. Notice what takes place when that happens! This is the best news on Earth to those that have undivided trust in the one God provided, Jesus. Have a great day, CDBJ |

216 | what is meant by Jesus reply to Luke 17 | Luke 17:34 | CDBJ | 209244
Greetings, GITS and welcome to the forum. The answer that was given by Jesus in LK 17:37 is what’s know as a Hebraism, i.e. and old Hebrew saying as it were. It actually means that, “Where justice is needed justice will be metered out.” In this case to follow in swift chronological order the wrath of God will be quick in coming upon those left. 2 Thes. 1:6-10 Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; 7And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, 8In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 9Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; 10When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. 218 | the law on eating pork | Matt 15:11 | CDBJ | 207908
Greetings, I’ve got some great news for you! Jesus has fixed everything so well that the only thing that will send a person to hell is failure to “completely trust” in Him. “Believe” means to have an undivided trust in the work that Jesus did on the cross. John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Ephes. 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9Not of works, lest any man should boast. Once a person puts their undivided trust in God’s Son, Jesus the Christ, God sends His Spirit into that person so they know they have eternal life as a sure thing because it all depends on Jesus. John 20:30-31 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: 31But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. To know these truths is to have peace with God and the blanking out of all fear of hell. Study the book of the gospel John and ask God to show you what God promises to those that believe in His Son. This might answer your question. Matthew 12:40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. By adding these verses together it informs us of the location of Hades. 1 Peter 3:18-19 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit, 19by whom also He went and preached to the spirits in prison, Matthew 12:40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. Luke 16:19-24 19"There was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously every day. 20But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who was laid at his gate, 21desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table. Moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. 22So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham's bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. 23And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24Then he cried and said, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.' That is kind of a round about way of finding the location but I think the guy who said it is really fishing to say the least!! Have fun on the forum, CDBJ |

220 | who is truly saved? How can we be sure | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 206676
That sounds like a legitimate question from a human view point but tell me this; what sin didn’t Jesus die for? The only thing that can condemn a person is failure to have complete trust in Jesus and what He did on the cross for us! John 3:18 He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:36 He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him." John 1:11 He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: Keep trusting in the finished work of Christ. John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. Ephes. 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9not of works, lest anyone should boast. Have a great day, CDBJ |
