Hi Doc, Words to comtemplate "church tradition." Renaldo is not offering "gospel" any more than our esteemed scholars of old. He is just offering perhaps a fresh view of the scene in question. When it comes right down to it, we won't know many of these things for sure till our Lord tells us in person. Yes, the Holy Spirit does give revelation to us today, but He still has to deal with our feeble human brains. I bet the old scholars had to fight through a lot of opposition too, for their views at the time were probably contrary to "church tradition" of the time. blessings cheri |

Hiya Tam, I don't dispute the Holy Spirit was indeed working in OT but Messiah said himself that if He didn't "go away the comforter would not come" so I don't see Peter or the ancient saints having the Holy Spirit ALL the time as we do. Salvation comes from the blood of the Sacrifice Lamb, the blood had not yet been spilled. Peter was saved in that he most likely partook of the sacrificial system. But the salvation provided by Messiah had yet to be fulfilled. The ancient saints were saved by trust in the Promise of what Messiah would do and we get saved by trust in what Messiah did do. Peter would be of the first group. Like I said it's a very easy thing to blurt out what satan may speak in your ear!! If you said that she got healed, I missed that part and pardon me. If you didn't, don't rail on me if it wasn't a medical problem after all. You asked. :-) Shalom Cheri |

regarding 2 Tim 3:16-17 Just WHAT scriptures was Paul speaking about? The NT HAD NOT been written yet!! Could it be the Tanach? And if you limit yourself only to the NT, you're losing 2/3 of God's word. |

Matt. 24:14 And this gospel of the Kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. That verse states all will know and make a decision. Matt. 7:21-27 also tells of those who have known and made a choice. My reasoning may be somewhat flawed but I don't think I'm totally wrong either. Cheri |

Chuck, The Tanakh is the Old Testament, I guess you were thinking of the Talmud which is the Jewish commentary of it. Cheri |

Shalom OK, now down to some serious Bible delving!! :-) You brought up the passages about the wide and narrow ways from Matt. 7:13-14 and I don't think He's changing direction in the middle of a breath, instead He goes on to explain the wide and narrow and explains about the good and bad trees and fruit and then ends with the passages I gave you. If those people (in vv.22-23 and vv. 26-27) do not enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, where do they go but to hell, and yet it's quite apparent that they know the Lord (to a degree, that is, in their minds). Hello again, If you knew what the Tanakh is then why did you write this: Why would I need the Tanach? Do you think there is something mystical about the 24 books of Tanach that would make it more accurate then the translations we have available to us today such as NASB? Cheri |

Chuck, I didn't write the words: Not everyone who says to Me, "Lord, Lord," shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. (Matt.7:21) 22: Many will say to Me in that day, "Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?" 23: Then I will declare to them, "I never knew you, depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!" These people clearly KNEW the NAME of the Lord. Cheri |

Happy Thanksgiving John, Hope and pray your day is marvelous! I started the whole conversation with that story. I don't know if you followed the thread or not but thank you anyway, whether you intended to or not you backed up what I said, at least about that passage. :-) This is the day the Lord has made, rejoice and be glad in it!! Thank you John, Note taken to heart in love and gentleness as given in love and gentleness. I will try really hard not to use the term again (after this post). But, again, Chuck said 24 books, the Tanakh is the Old Testament, all 39 books of the Old Testament. The word is an acronym for the Law, Writings, and the Prophets, nothing spiritual about it. Forgive me if I seemed to be trying to "appear" spiritual for that is not me at all. Cheri |

John, Shalom, What a blessing you shared with Kingfish. Just exactly the answer that would soothe one's heart and remind them of Abba's love for them!! You're such a dear brother. Cheri |

John, You know it happened to me!! But once the Holy Spirit gets inside you, you can't keep running away. Yeshua prayed in John 17 for those Abba had given Him that He had kept them and none of them were lost (except the son of perdition) - we, each one of us who bless His name, belong to that group of "them." I think every believer has the capacity to drift away (and many do because we forget that we must "take up our cross daily") but if we are truly His, we will be found and brought back into the fold. Shalom Cheri |

Shalom Mike, Welcome to the forum!! You don't have to be a pastor or scholar to be used of God. All input is welcomed and sought here at SBF as long as it is biblically based. You never know what the Spirit might show to someone else thru your words. :o) By the way, I checked out your mypage space and see that you're also an Ohioan (Elyria for me) but I wanted to tell you that your names is spelled as Mike Abra,s and I almost missed you. Rholliday, good morning, I don't know, you got me on that one. I just know that in the story about the rich man and Lazarus, Jesus said there was a gulf in the place of the dead that could not be crossed, and He called the place of the righteous dead Paradise. Maybe New Jerusalem is going to be something like the Garden of Eden, And we'll get it right this time. There are many others much more knowledgeable then me on this forum, I'm sure they will set us straight on this one. Blessings Cheri |

Hi PP, shalom, I just had to jump in here. Keith Moore DOES sound very good, BUT he is not, (whether he or not he's aware of the deception, I don't know), but some years ago I would have given anything to be able to be a part of Eagle Mt. Tx and all the crew that deals with K. Copeland, that includes Moore. PLEASE, throw your faith out there like a blanket and just accept from someone who was trapped in it for many years - it's NOT what you need, NOT what your King would have for you. He has so much more than what these folk can offer - before you get hooked (and you will) RUN far and fast, straight to the unadulterated Word. Alot of it, you can find right here on SBF from some of the folks who've been here for 7-8 years. Just glory in what is here and leave WOF alone. PLEASE. Cheri |
