243 | once saved, always saved-Bible location | NT general | skccab | 206521
Shalom all, I haven't really thought about the "once saved, always saved" theme too much, cos my question is why would one want to be unsaved? But what do we do with the warning in Rom. 11:17-22? Especially verse 22. That's to the wild branches isn't it? Cheri |

Shalom WOS Thank you for your response, I do understand about the natural and wild branches. But that one verse in particular (22 I believe) talks about being cut off if one doesn't stay in the faith. "Cut off" when used in OT almost always is one of two things - either physical, literal death sentence or being removed from Israel. So, doesn't that mean that the "osas" view is faulty? Either you are a part of the tree or you are not (and in these verses we are talking about people (gentiles) that have at one time believed and then left the faith, right?). Not arguing with you, WOS, just trying to understand - once saved, always saved or no. Even M. Henry says the same thing, as I read it - "... That which ruined them was unbelief, and by faith thou standest; therefore thou hast no faster hold than they had, thou standest on no firmer foundation than they did...that is, continue in a dependence upon and compliance with the free grace of God..." 251 | How does one win grace? | Genesis | skccab | 196176
Good morning TC, Just a little hint if you want it :-) Before you click on a title bar to add a note you can click on the poster's screen name to the right of the question title bar and that will take you to their profile. Very often that will give you a little bit of info about the person: their gender, marital status, Bible college or not, a parent, how long saved, etc., just a little help in knowing each other better!! Isn't it great to know what a large family we're a part of? And how many wonderful people there will be to meet?!! Have a wonderful day Shalom Cheri |

252 | In the beginning God Made Adam and Eve, | Genesis | skccab | 211141
Keliy, afternoon, I can say good morning and good evening in Hebrew but I don't know the word for afternoon - maybe I should go back to sleep!!! lol Actually, I usually use the picture of marriage for the bible, as it begins in Genesis with a marriage between God and man, and of a man and a woman, then we see a picture of a marriage between God and a people, and it ends with the marriage of all marriages in Revelation. Thank you for the encouragement. Much to my chagrin, I sometimes fail to realize that salvation is not a given with everyone, I'm trying to remember this more :o) I did say it was the story of our redemption???? Cheri |

Dear Marigee, I'm assuming this was for me, since I'm the Torah lady :o). (For some reason, I'm not getting email notifications, haven't in almost 2 weeks.) You're right, you're finding this forum was no accident. There are no coincidences in God's world. You are now among some very godly, knowledgeable, spirit-filled folks. Stay with them and they'll make your journey quite joyful. In other words, stick around and learn with all of us!! It's a pleasure to have you here. Cheri |

254 | Are we all descendants of Adam and Eve? | Genesis | skccab | 212912
Shalom Idrive, No, that's not it....But when you make statements that no one here can remember reading in the Bible, we do like Book, chapter and verse so we can go read it. This is a STUDY Bible Forum, we study the Bible. If I make the statement that the ancients, 3000 years ago, knew that the earth was round and not flat - I'd need to back up that statement with Isaiah 40:22a. I could be understanding that verse amiss and someone else could help me to better understand what it means. Or, maybe that's a completely new piece of true information for someone else and now they have a reference for it. That's why we ask for references...so we can ALL study God's wonderful Word together. :o) Cheri |

255 | gap therory | Gen 1:1 | skccab | 188066
Thanks Mark, I'll check out the link you gave, never heard of the fellow though. I really don't lean one way or the other on that particular theory - there are alot of questions about geology and such. Guess we'll understand it all by and by :). And won't it be neat hearing about it all from the Master Himself? blessings cheri |

Hi Mark, I downloaded a few of those seminars, only had time to listen to (most) of one of them, but I liked him - he made me laugh and think. It's always a good thing when someone can get both the tickle bone and the brain working. blessings cheri |

Hi Gary, I hadn't really thought much about the "gap theory" before just recently. But now I think the gap theory was invented to explain the "millions" of years that the earth is supposed to be. We have this thing called "carbon-dating" that is supposed to be able to tell us how old really old things are. But we conveniently forget that the determing factors with this process was also invented by man. What makes us think that man is right and God is wrong? I think if there was indeed a "gap" we would have more than a little bit of white between verses 1 and 2? You think? just some thoughts blessings cheri |

Hiya sis, No problem. I meant to wish you a happy new year but I thought of it too early, then I must admit that I forgot it.... :o( So - A belated Happy!! I can't give anymore ideas on this. Since MJH mentioned the Hebrew wording, maybe there's something there. I'll bring it up to my pastor (we're going thru the book of Genesis anyway). He teaches Hebtew, so maybe he can enlighten us? I'll let you know what he says this weekend. :o) Cheri |

Gen. 1:7 man is created Gen. 1:8 Garden is created Gen. 1:15 God put man in the garden Gen. 1:20-21 God made woman from man's side Man was created outside the garden, woman created inside the garden of perfection!!
