I neglected to mention the other verses that say the same thing as Matthew 24 29-31and Rev. 6:12,13, that are in the Old Testament. Joel 2:31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come. Amos 5:20 Shall not the day of the LORD be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it? Zeph. 1:15 That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, CDBJ |

Hello Aaron, and welcome to the forum. It is a Bible study and to be “consistent” one should back up what they have found using other Scripture. It’s the totality of “God’s Word” that conveys truth. Psalm 119:160 (ASV) The sum of thy word is truth; And every one of thy righteous ordinances endureth for ever. There is an old saying that you have probably heard; “Some take text out of context for a pretext” That isn’t always the case but I assume you can see how that could happen? People come up with some ideas that are really off the wall, if you get my drift? Sometimes it’s better to ask something in the form of a question rather then make an assertion. Many of the folks on the forum know the Bible pretty well and they aren’t really trying to prod you as it were. Don’t be discouraged, your statement was just a bit of a shocker, CDBJ |

What is the light that you would like for others to see in you? Matthew 5:14-16 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. [15] Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. [16] Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. It's your personal profile; what is it that you have personally experienced in your spiritual walk? Have you come to the place yet where you can say “for certain’ that you have eternal life? What, of a spiritual nature, would you like to share with the other members of the forum? CDBJ |

If as you say Jesus is alone with His Majesty, with out the Father and the Spirit, then how do you account for the fact that He is seated at the right side; He would be the only side! Hebrews 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; By your definition there wouldn’t be a left or a right because there would only be one! God is one in essence but reflected in three distinct personalities. For sake of clarification lets say that God, as we know him, has certain characteristics, not all are listed, but these ten are listed for simple clarity; again, this is not a complete list but it's sufficient for the brief explanation. God is sovereignty, righteousness, justice, love, eternal life, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, immutability, and veracity. God is one in unity with all of these characteristics just mentioned. Whoever has All of these attributes is in fact God. It so happens that there are three separate personalities in existence, that have All of these attributes and for sake of accommodation, they are referred to in the Bible as, The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. They have existed Together forever in eternity past and they will continue on forever into eternity future; the three personalities had no beginning, they always were and always will be. Anyone exhibiting All of the listed traits mentioned is God, it so happens that there are only three personalities in existence that posses (All) of these attributes. God is ONE IN ESSENCE but THREE IN PERSONALITIES. God decided in eternity past that one of the personalities, the one we call the Son, would take on the form of a man and be born into the human race, his name as a human, would be Jesus. When God the second person took on the form of a man it is referred to as the hypostatic union. (i.e.) Jesus is a one-of-a-kind being, 100 percent God and 100 percent man; he was the God man. He is different from the other two members of the God Head in that he is a man. He is different from mankind in that he is God. Even though Jesus was walking around on this Earth as a man, he was at the same time holding the Universe together by the power of his might as God. God didn't see fit to reveal everything to the humanity of Jesus at the time of his first coming; an example of this would be the exact day and hour when Christ would return to the Earth to be glorified in his saints at his second coming. Matthew 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. Have a nice day, CDBJ |

I wouldn’t be so blasphemous as to say of the personage of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, as you suggested, “God has multiple personality disorder”. I can do without your disparaging remarks about God my saviour, thanks! My postings to you are over. Have a nice day, CDBJ |

Hi Cuddle, It's a great help if you can write out the verse quoted. EXAMPLE: Isaiah 40:22 It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in: I know its more work but most won’t bother to actually look up your answer and read if it isn’t right there in front of them. Hi Eagle, and welcome to the forum. I liked your post but could you please verify, with Scripture, where the following actually took place, as you have posted? “My Adamic Nature died with Him on the cross” And then if it isn’t too much trouble, explain why Paul had all of the problems that he claimed in the following: “assuming” that he didn’t “still have” an old sin nature “plus” a new nature. If we didn’t retain the old nature in our bodies and let it dictate to us now and then, i.e. by sinning: how would it be possible to grieve and quench the Holy Spirit and sin at all for that matter? Romans 7:21-25 I find then the principle that evil is present in me, the one who wishes to do good. [22] For I joyfully concur with the law of God in the inner man, [23] but I see a different law in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind, and making me a prisoner of the law of sin which is in my members. [24] Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death? [25] Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, on the one hand I myself with my mind am serving the law of God, but on the other, with my flesh the law of sin. It’s obvious that we are all in this same tent; until the “new creation” is delivered from these old messed up bodies, that we are trapped in, up until such time as the soul is separated form these bodies, i.e. physical death or the rapture, which ever come first. Have a great day, CDBJ |

Wow Eagle, am I glad you posted that! Romans 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. The words “should not serve” in the English is translated from the Koine Greek verb, DOULEUO, and it carries the meaning of being a slave to or being in bondage to sin. Praise the Lord; we don’t have to let sin control our lives anymore. Philip. 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. With this in mind we aren’t supposed to get a swell head either, because as soon as we do we get knocked off of our perch and we have to come crawling back to the Lord to have the mess straightened out. 1 Peter 5:5 (B) for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. It’s interesting to note in I John, that we as believers don’t “practice” improving our old sin natures! Have a great day, CDBJ |

Well if what you say is true then you better hadn’t ever die from and ailments or it will prove you are wrong, and don’t ever get a bad disease because that will also prove you are wrong and if you catch a bad cold it will prove your lack of faith. By the way are you still affected by gravity? Paul should have informed Timothy about this but then he probable didn’t know as much as you do. 2 Tim. 4:20 Erastus abode at Corinth: but Trophimus have I left at Miletum sick. God still heals people but it’s not a done deal, some are sick for the glory of God and die as a result. They have turned their bodies over to God for His purpose. Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. You are trading on thin ice and I hope God doesn’t have to kick the props out from under you for you to wake up because you might not like what you will have to face! We still live in a sin sick disease ridden world and the only thing that is certain in this life is eternal life, after these old sinful bodies are dead, if one has trusted in Jesus for that eternal life. Say not what you will do tomorrow, its God will that will be done, not yours, you might make it another day. If it’s God’s will you could die from a hangnail. There are many sick God fearing believers on this forum that are on their last legs and your previous post is anything but encouraging to them. I would rather hear you say that you have had a very effective prayer life and you would be willing to pray for those in need! You think about it.... Have a nice day, CDBJ |

Hi Brad, I attend a very large church in Ohio and there a literally hundreds of believers in our congregation that have incurable problems, quadriplegics, deafness, etc. My wife heads up one of the support groups and her heart truly goes out to these unfortunate loved ones of the Lord. When I see a post like the one that I responded to it breaks my heart that some folks, being so fortunate that the Lord has blessed them, could be so cruel to think they have a special angle on God’s grace; If a dear saint has a health problem the treat it like it’s the persons entire fault for having lack of faith. 1 Cor. 15:10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. Not everything that happens to us in this life is good but God can use these things for His glory and His good. Romans 8:27-28 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. 28And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. When I think of a particular person in this kind of a situation I think of a dear brother in the Lord, who passed away not that long ago, that most all know, Bill Bright. Bill praised the Lord right up to the end. 1 Thes. 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Paul suffered through life with his thorn in the flesh and wasn’t healed but he found that God’s grace was sufficient for his problem. Philip. 4:12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. There are countless believers in the body that have agonized before the Lord for hours that haven’t been delivered from their affliction yet they have been used mightily of the Lord along with their problem. Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. 2 Cor. 1:3-4 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; 4Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. Greetings, I for one believe in divine healing, but not individuals that claim to be divine healers. God is able to do everything that He desires to do to fulfill His great purpose! Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. If one claims healing as a result of their great faith, in a Scriptural promise for healing, please show me the evidence with “one” example of a person, with the so called gift of healing, that has lived through the “centuries” with out succumbing to physical death, if what you say is so? God might have a purpose for that fact that you have been healed, if that’s the case, praise the Lord! Please don’t assume that you are special as a result of it and that other Christians are second class, should they not have the same experience that you did, or that they are lesser for not being healed! Luke 12:48 (B) For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: Have a great pain free day, CDBJ |

Greetings SamtheShocker, Because my Lexus doesn’t even come close to the performance of my Mercedes dose that mean that my faith is faulty, or is God lacking in what He delivers? I hope you know that I am being factious?? James 4:2-4 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. [3] Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. [4] Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. Hi Hank, You probably right about your autos being better. I’m never able to blow the carbon out of mine seeing that they are only used for short trips, back and forth up to the lake, anything over 100 miles I take one of my two jets, depending on the distance and if it’s transoceanic or not. I think my second jet, or what we all like to call the big one, fit right in with the following verse of Scripture. Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. I am glad that the Lord has blessed you so abundantly but your post has me somewhat perplexed, you stated; “Trust me they are not to Christian children starving those that are starving don't belong to God” For starters, why should anyone trust you? Secondly, by your statement, are you suggesting that Paul the apostle wasn’t a child of God? There seems to be a difference of opinion between what you are suggesting and what Paul wrote. Incidentally the word that Paul uses for hungry come to us from the Koine Greek, infinitive, present, active of PEINAO which carries the following conation; to famish (absolute or comparatively); figurative to crave be an hungered. ie. Paul has experienced and it currently in such a condition. This is only a minor part of what the risen Lord said would happen to him! Acts 9:16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake. Paul, getting back to the subject of viewpoints, affirms these conditions. Philip. 4:11-12 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. [12] I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I lean a little heaver on what Paul says when the words “Trust me” are used!! Now you are trying to assure us that these thing won’t happen to a true Christian? You might want to consider the following? Hebrews 12:1-7 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, [2] Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. [3] For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. [4] Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin. [5] And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: [6] For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. [7] If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? Have a great day, CDBJ |

Well my friend I must say you sure haven't heard of what's going on in some of the foreign countries to brothers and sisters in Christ who are being starved!!!! I suppose, “just because you didn’t see it”, the holocaust enforced by Hitler didn’t take place either? When one actually thinks about it all we, as humans, really need is salvation through Christ and when we get to glory we will have everything and God will have supplied it. Romans 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. Enjoy your next meal, CDBJ |

Now there is the epitome biblical distortion if I have ever heard it before. Romans 1:24-32 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 26For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. What do you assume is going to get these eunuchs to heaven in the first place and where does Jesus fit into this picture? Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. CDBJ |
