1401 | Is habitualy working out acceptable? | Gal 5:13 | CDBJ | 112736
Hi David H, Here is what the Bible says about it. 1 Tim. 4:7-8 But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness. 8For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. It doesn’t say that exercise is of no profit but that it profiteth little. CDBJ |

1402 | How to follow, walk in the Spirit? | Gal 5:16 | CDBJ | 211363
Greetings, At the very moment we are saved we are both indwelt and filled with the Spirit. We as believers in Christ can never loose the indwelling of the Spirit, Hebrews 13:5 (B) I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. But the filling of the Spirit is another subject, we can loose the filling. Ephes. 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; The word filled in the Koine Greek is the word “PLEROO” and it's in the imperative mood which is a command, meaning we must do something. PLEROO carries the conation of filling up a “deficiency”, i.e. The deficiency is in the control of our bodies, the same way that wine takes control when one has had more then they should. What puts God out of control and grieves Him is when we commit sin and put our old sin natures in charge or control. The only way to put The Spirit back in control and be filled is to exercise the option of, 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. This filling of the Spirit last only until we sin again and it is best to keep short accounts because, outside of Him we can do NOTHING. John 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. This is being filled and controlled by the Spirit. Paul had this battle in Romans Chapter 7:15-25 Have a great day, CDBJ |

1403 | How to follow, walk in the Spirit? | Gal 5:16 | CDBJ | 211469
The Koine Greek word for filled of Ephes. 5:18 is the present tense, passive voice, imperative mood of PLEROO. We are command, as believers to be constantly filled with the Spirit. The passive voice means we receive the action of the verb, i.e. we do something then God does something for us when we confess or sins. Ephes. 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; If we confess our known sins God is faithful and just to forgive us! John tells us of fellowship, and darkness, this is being in a state of carnality or under the control of our old sin nature which is a condition of sin in our lives. 1 John 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: As a child of God we “can’t” loose our salvation but we can sure be out of fellowship as a result of sin in our lives. Everything that we do while in a state of carnality, under the control of our old sin natures, falls under the catagory of human good and it will turn out to be wood hay and stubble at the judgment seat of Christ. All that we do while under the control of the Holy Spirit will be gold, silver and precious stones. Often time’s people are dictated to by their emotions more then they are sound Bible doctrine and as a result they fail to hear the truth of God’s Word after responding to the message of the gospel. As a result they log more time in carnality then they do in fellowship or being filled with the Spirit. This type of condition expresses it’s self with wide emotional swings. They go from emotional highs to depressing lows due to a lack of residual doctrine residing in their soul. They end up, even as believers, being an emotional wreck and they wonder why! Have a great day, CDBJ |

1404 | khuck ... thanks for your answers .. | Gal 6:17 | CDBJ | 103152
Hello Khuck, So what dose all of this have to do with anything? Is it supposed to be more effective then the Word of God or what? What, biblically speaking, have these thing done for the individuals who experienced them? All of the thing that Jesus suffered, before the sins of the world were poured out on him, brought no response from him until God the father forsook him and then he cried out. Isaiah 53:7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. Matthew 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? People have let themselves be crucified to try and experience what Christ went through on the cross, but no person, other then Jesus himself, will ever know what the pain was when our sins were placed on him and he paid our debt. If people want to know what that feels like they will have to spend an eternity in the lake of fire separated from God’s presence! The only ones who know what the suffering of Christ was like are those who have refused to trust totally in Jesus and what he did for them on the cross and it’s to late for them to do anything about it because God’s condemnation is being poured out on them for rejecting His Son. Have a nice day, CDBJ |

1405 | Serious "option" for believers! | Ephesians | CDBJ | 194499

1406 | Serious "option" for believers! | Ephesians | CDBJ | 194542
Hello Michael, Grieving the Spirit and quenching the Spirit are two sides of the same coin. Ephes. 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. 1 Thes. 5:19 Quench not the Spirit. We, as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, all have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit but that doesn’t insure us that He is always in control. Even as a new creation “in” Christ, with a new nature, we still have an old sin nature residing in our bodies. When we give in to the dictates of our old sin nature, and sin as a result, the Holy Spirit is not filling us in our new nature’s spiritual walk; thus the need to be filled with the Spirit; He resides always but He doesn’t always fill. Ephes. 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; The exercise of 1 John 1:9 accomplishes this task and causes the believer to function under God’s perfect protocol. Any believer at any moment of time is either filled with the Spirit or they are out of fellowship and under the control of their old sin nature and they need to “constantly” use 1 John 1:9. God is “always faithful” and He will do the same thing every time “IF” we will name our sins to Him. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. It is “possible” for one to be in and out of fellowship, or filled with the Spirit, hundreds of times a day! One is indwelt but once for always and that at the point of faith in Jesus at salvation by the grace of God. CDBJ |

1408 | Predestination | Eph 1:4 | CDBJ | 41779
Scribe, you said a mouthful there, I am inclined to agree with you. I think that most of the leaders of the churches now day are so busy with things that should be attended to by the members that they don't have time to study the Bible and preach the word as Paul commanded in 2 Tim. 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. A lot of churches put on the so-called dog and pony shows just to get people in. If ministers would start preaching and teaching sound Bible doctrine, with exegesis, combined with the original language, they would fill their churches and the parishioners would end up doing the work that the pastors are doing now. In order to do this though takes a good foundation on how to study and a good understanding of the original languages, which is hard for one to get without a the proper collage background. I have to admit though, a layman wrote one of the best and most informative books that I have ever studied and it covered the doctrine of eschatology. Again I must say you made some interesting comments! CDBJ |

1409 | Unforgiveable Sin? | Eph 1:7 | CDBJ | 166527
Greetings Luke, The object isn’t getting everlasting or eternal life as it were. I think a lot of people loose sight of the object of Faith, Jesus. Eternal life is only a fraction of what one receives when they have the Son. John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. Once a person has the Son they get it all; not just eternal life. People are always trying to get eternal life, which they can’t do. Eternal life is a free gift, or if I may so bold as to say, a by product, that comes automatically when one puts all their faith in Jesus and they receive the Son. John 14:6 “In part for emphasis” Jesus saith unto him, I am the life: 1 John 5:12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. I believe the big problem, once in the family of God, is staying in fellowship, i.e. exercising the function of I John 1:9. “Grieve not and quench not.” We are to keep a very short log time while out of the control of the Spirit. In other words we “aren’t supposed” to let the old sin nature rule the house! God says; Hebrews 13:5 (B) I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. God wants to be in charge of of us and Paul says that’s where the battle starts because after we receive a new nature we still retain our old one, sin nature, and sometimes it wants to be king of the hill. Romans 7:19-23 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. [20] Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. [21] I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. [22] For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: [23] But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. Our old sin nature has a battle plan, lust of the eye, lust of the flesh and the pride of life. God has a counter attack plan but, it “MUST” start with I John 1:9 and then orders of the day can start to function, residual Bible doctrine that we have stored up in our frame of reference applied to the problem area or the breach in the line of our defense. 1410 | Unforgiveable Sin? | Eph 1:7 | CDBJ | 166590
Hi Luke, The writer of Hebrews hit the nail right on the head with regards to those that you referenced in your previous post. Hebrews 5:13-14 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. [14] But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. That brings back memories of my working days when someone would brag that they have 20 years of experience. I would say that it’s more like 1 year of experience, 20 times! Some Christians never seem to grow even after years of being a believer. Hebrews 6:1-3 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, [2] Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. [3] And this will we do, if God permit I blame this inpart on the miserable excuse that we have today for churches. They are more interested in programs then cranking out the Word; line upon line, precept upon precept here a little there a little. 2 Tim. 4:1-2 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; [2] Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. Doctrine, doctrine, doctrine!!! Clear cut Biblical doctrine just isn’t being “categorically” taught now days! After we sing for thirty minutes, seven verses, of the same song, eleven different times, then we receive a 25 minute sermonette from a preacherette. The saints of today don’t have enough sense, biblically speaking, to come in out of the rain, but they sure can sing! It would appear that someone rewrote a verse of scripture. 2 Apostasy 2:15 (Sing to show thyself approved unto God a singer that needeth not to be ashamed, properly singing in the right key.) I guess you can tell this is a pet peeve!! My local church is “very big” and very shallow and the constituents all need copious amounts of milk! We have looked for a church within a twenty mile radius of our home and the scenario doesn’t get any better. Ephes. 4:11-12 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; [12] For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 2 Tim. 4:1-5 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; [2] Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. [3] For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; [4] And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. [5] But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. Enough soap box for today, CDBJ |

1411 | Unforgiveable Sin? | Eph 1:7 | CDBJ | 166601
Greetings ebrain, Sorry about the confusion on the post, sometimes I get my tongue in front of my eye teeth and I can’t see what I’m going to say. Let see if I can be a little more to the point. The question -------------- what is---------------- "The unforgivable sin" Matthew 12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. Well it’s pretty obvious what the “unforgivable sin” is, blasphemy against the Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit. The question should be: What is meant by the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit? This has been a hotly debated subject for years, especially in the charismatic circles. It has been my understanding that Scripture is the best interpreter of Scripture; I would like to start with the following Scripture. John 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. The him, in the previous verse, is the one called alongside to help. i.e. the Holy Spirit of God or what we as Christians refer to as the Third Person of the Trinity, or The Revealer. Notice the work of the Spirit, the one not to reject or blaspheme againt,--------- revelation. John 16:13-14 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. [14] He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. Compare the previous verses with John 16:8 just using only, if I may, the first part. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin. The “big question is”, what sin, there is only one sin, singular, that will make any difference in eternity and that’s because it’s the only sin that God’s son wasn’t able to pay for on the cross. The Answer: and the unforgivable sin is. John 16:9 Of sin, because they believe not on me; Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is when anyone continually rejects the convicting and reveling work of the Holy Spirit. It is God the Holy Spirit that is shows mankind exactly who the person of Jesus the Christ is and what He did for them as an individual. And if you understand this, it’s only because God has revealed it to you, praise the Lord! CDBJ |

1412 | Satan is not here on earth did you know? | Eph 2:2 | CDBJ | 140751
There are many that would try to convince believers that Satan stays in heaven putting blame on believers and much of this is drawn from the following, Rev. 12:10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. What they don’t stop to realize is the Satan is not ubiquitous, as is God. Satan has to be here at least part of the time unless he gets his information from the chain of command, that he has established, which is a possibility, but there isn’t conclusive evidence to prove it either way. Ephes. 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Again this verse speaks of the accuser being cast down. Rev. 12:10-12 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. [11] And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. [12] Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. This doesn’t say that Satan has never changed his location or that it is a permanent situation or that it ever was, or that he can’t come back. It is my firm opinion that Satan or the devil or what ever name he goes by, is in a time awaiting the execution of God’s verdict. Matthew 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: Once Satan is in the Lake of fire his traveling days will be over!!! Job 1:6-7 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them. [7] And the Lord said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it. CDBJ |

1413 | Satan is not here on earth did you know? | Eph 2:2 | CDBJ | 140789
Hi Janae, That’s very interesting; the verses that you have chosen to prove your point, has disproved you point. You stated, “My Bible tells me that Satan's domain is on the earth:” Then you use the following verse the disproves it; Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out." (John 12:31) What are you trying to say that cast out means?? Then the next verse doesn’t prove anything either way with regards to the subject. The subject was; which I didn’t start; “Satan is not here on the earth did you know” You suggested, "Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me." (John 14:30) Then you finished with the following, "Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: (Ephesians 2:2) So the thesis of your post is what; are you saying that you don’t believe that Satan still has access to the Earth or that he is restricted to the Earth and that the verse in Rev. 12:10 isn’t so or pertaining to the age that we live in? Rev. 12:10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. I am confused as to what position you are trying to convey?? CDBJ |

1414 | Satan is not here on earth did you know? | Eph 2:2 | CDBJ | 140792
Hi Doc, That’s a good response, and here is one that goes with it! 1 John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. This tells me that the adversary can walk around this Earth until he is blue in the face but we, as believers in Jesus Christ, are under God’s protection! Satan can’t beat us in this walkathon, he is already beaten and the Lord did it for us! Romans 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. CDBJ |

1415 | Satan is not here on earth did you know? | Eph 2:2 | CDBJ | 140841
Are you suggesting that since Satan was cast down that it means he can't return? Has his access to heaven been denied? He was cast down before the claims of Job 1:6-7 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them. [7] And the Lord said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it. Satan has been back to heaven since he was cast away. His trial must have been before there were people on this earth yet look where he shows up and who he is accusing. Rev. 12:12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. This tells me that Satan has just been given notice that his time left to raise havoc is likely his last 3 ½ years, so he is on his way back to Earth and is going to kick his vengeance into passing gear! Matthew 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. CDBJ |
