1321 | John 1:13 born,not of natural descent, | John 1:13 | CDBJ | 62277
Hi John, I have a great idea why don’t you get off of this kick and you and I can take up the subject of God creating something so big that he can’t lift it. Whichever side you take I will take the other. Or maybe we could discuss an irresistible force running into an immovable object, it would make about as much sense as this post has accomplished over the past however log it’s been. You are trying to reinvent the wheel, let it go brother and lets get on to something that doesn’t create so much DISCORD. Proverbs 6:16-19 These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: [17] A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, [18] An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, [19] A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth DISCORD among brethren. I tell you this in Love, CDBJ |

1322 | Peace and safety or great tribulation? | Luke 17:26 | CDBJ | 62235
If the portion mentioned in Matthew 24, that speaks of all the terrible problems, is only for the believers, since the unbelievers are saying peace and safety, where do some come up with the idea that the elect won’t have to go through the tribulation? CDBJ |

Hi Kalos, I know that you didn’t mean anything by what you said and the only reason that I answered their question was because it was their first question on the forum and they were probably testing the waters. I think that they must have gotten scared off because they didn’t reply to my thread, I hope that isn’t the case though. Even as nasty as I am I like to cut new comers some slack now and then, hang in there partner. CDBJ |

1324 | Peace and safety or great tribulation? | Luke 17:26 | CDBJ | 62142
So maybe the problems that Christ is speaking of in Matthew 24 only applies to Christians because the unbelievers in the world are saying peace and safety. This is the point that I am trying to convey. Matthew 24:9-14 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. [10] And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. [11] And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. [12] And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. [13] But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. [14] And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. It sounds to me like the world is going to try and to get rid of the all the Christians because verse 9: say for my name’s sake. Christ even say that something will be done for the believers of that time. Matthew 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. Christ pointed out that those that endure these problems will be delivered. Matthew 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. CDBJ |

1325 | Peace and safety or great tribulation? | Luke 17:26 | CDBJ | 62139
Who said anything about God’s love? Please show me where the children of God are found in Luke 17:26, the next verse clearly points out that they were destroyed therefore they were unbelievers. That sure isn’t Noah and the other seven believers. The peace and safety crowed are unbelievers just as 1Thess. points out. 1 Thes. 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. The believers are found in the following verse. 1 Thes. 5:4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Paul makes it sound like we will know when the day is approaching. But ye, means the believers that are alive at that time. CDBJ |

1326 | Heaven is our home. | Mark | CDBJ | 62137
He will sit (until) his time to rise up and return. The verse that is in Acts shows that he wasn’t seated yet; but that was not my point. Psalm 110:1 A Psalm of David. The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. My point was the closeness of the third heaven to the point that Stephen could view it from here on Earth once he was permitted to see it, it wasn't that far away. CDBJ |

And may I add to that verse also? Paul was speaking in 2 Cor. 12:4 How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter. This same Paul having seen some pretty impressive things came out with another verse of interest. Philip. 1:23 For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: CDBJ |

I think it would be advisable for you to read 1 Thess. 5:3 again I think you have your groups mixed up. 1 Thes. 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. This doesn’t sound like the people of God to me? |

You won’t get any negative response out of me on that one, I agree with you 100 percent. I like the following verse. 1 Cor. 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. |

My question was, how far away do you think that a person could be recognized with the naked eye? The answer is probable in the neighborhood of say from 75 to 100 yards. With this in mind look at the following verse and tell me what one might be able to conclude about the location of God’s abode, i.e. heaven. This verse is talking about the first martyr of the New Testament, Stephen. Acts 7:55-56 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, [56] And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God. Stephen’s statement was heavens, plural? The 1st. and the 2nd. heaven right up to the third. Psalm 110:1 had not quite started yet with reference to Christ sitting down as he is standing. Psalm 110:1 A Psalm of David. The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. Actually the realm of God’s abode, or the third heaven might be all around us but we do not have the ability to see it. I am not truing to prove anything, I am just pointing of what it says. CDBJ |

How far away do you think that a person could be recognized with the naked eye? Believe me this isn’t loaded question I just want to point out something that I noticed in the Bible that is strange, at least it seemed that way to me.

EdB greetings, you mentioned in your post, Rev. 21:21 The twelve gates were twelve pearls: each individual gate was of one pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass. It would appear that you were disputing Aspilos and saying that Rev. 21:21 is a reference to heaven. I think if one were to search it out that there are actually 3 different heavens mentioned in the Bible. The way I see it Rev. 21:2 say that it is a city, coming down from God, out of heaven. Rev. 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. I believe that this is the city that Abraham was looking looking for but never found. Hebrews 11:9-10 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: [10] For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God. What do you think? CDBJ |

Hi EdB, you know if people would look at this question of Cain and who he married from a numerical stand point I think it is pretty obvious that he married one of his own relatives. I had 5 kids with my wife by the time I was 32 years old. Now we have Adam, who lived to be if my memory serves me right, for 930 years and with the most perfect woman in the world. Hear we have two of the most perfect people that have ever been husband and wife; I am sure that they had more children then they could count even if they both took off their sandals. I wasn’t even commanded to populate the Earth and look what I started in only 18 years of marriage! If one would start compounding the little feet running around in just the first lets say 500 years it would blow your mind. This is a good one for some of the mathematicians out there. CDBJ |

1336 | fruit of the spirit | Galatians | CDBJ | 61810
Hi Ladyzee14, I think if you check out the Scripture on the fruits of the Spirit that you will find that it is singular, i.e. fruit. Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, The fruit of the Spirit is like a cluster of grapes the main cluster as we might call it is LOVE the rest are the individual manifestations of that cluster of Love. 1337 | What makes a christian an unbeliever? | 1 Cor 7:15 | CDBJ | 61808
Hi JuanMas, I am a late comer to this post and not having read all the threads before this I won’t know if I am repeating what others have said or not. I will tell you right up front that there is no sin that a true born again believer can’t commit. I will tell you though that when they do it that they are defiantly out of fellowship with the Lord and they won’t get back in fellowship until they use I John 1:9. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If any Christian persists in any particular sin the Lord will take them to the wood shed, if you get my drift. Here is a zinger for you, the Lord know every sin that we will commit even after we are saved yet he still saves us. Wow, what a Savior!! It doesn’t pay to stay out of fellowship very long, so one should keep short accounts. Believe me when I tell you this because I have been taken to the wood shed many times in my 37 years of being a Christian. Hebrews 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. This verse is about me because it seems that I have to learn some thing the hard way. I try to do my best but sometimes I slip over the edge and as a result I usually get clobbered for it. I sure am glad that the Lord loves me though even when I dumb things. I would like to meet your neighbor who you say is a pastor. He must be absolutely perfect or heading for a rude awakening! Proverbs 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. CDBJ |

That is why God gave us the command to study His word in order to determine what part of His word is for us today. 2 Tim. 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. According to your answer you don’t believe in this doctrine, and by the way how are you making out on your ARK? |

1339 | Should we bias our religious studies? | Lev 18:22 | CDBJ | 60720
The fact that Jesus rose from the dead should be proof enough for anyone that he was telling the truth. There is no need to look any further or to base ones hope on superstitious supposition; we believe in a living Savior.
1340 | Should we bias our religious studies? | Lev 18:22 | CDBJ | 60689
Hi Hank, your post mentioned a quotation that Jesus made in John. John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. This is where a lot of people come up short by not acting on the next verse. John 5:40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. This is where the reading stops and the reality must take hold if one is to be a child of God by actually going to Jesus our Savior. The precious part is that we all have to come the same way and there is a genuine bond with true believers without any mention of a denomination. (JUST GIVE ME JESUS) Maybe it is not given to them of the Father, I don’t know but it sure is a burden that I have with some of the people in my local church. John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. I have been off line for quite a while, my PC got very sick for a while; it is good to hear from you! CDBJ |
