34182 | in Revelations."You should beat your chi | Rev 2:23 | Charlotte34 | 138020
I have a serious problem that I need answers for. My grand-daughter is far too hard on her children. she doesn't spank on the bottom, she hits on the legs, arms, bottom or whatever. When I told her this was unreasonable, she told me it says in Revelations you should "Beat your child" I fine it very hard to believe she is interpreting this right. Can you point me to verses in Revelation that speaks of beating children? She has gone away from the family's religion, which is Lutheran, and joined a rather radical group, that advises her to stop her medications, and to instead pray to God to help her handle her rages. she is Bi-Polar, and has been off her medications for some time. It is showing. She flies into rages at the drop of a hat. Her husband sits by and doesn't try to help her.He says he can't interfere with her beliefs. I fear for the safety of my great-grandchildren. Can some of you help me please. I an not as versed in the bible as I maybe should be, but I try to live by god's teachings and I believe understanding is the best way to handle a 3 year old that says a bad word, that he surely MUST have heard from his mother. She possesses a goodly store of them. I cannot sit by while these children are being abused. I am thinking if I can point to the verses she isreferring to, I can make her see they do not mean it the way her pastor (not an ordained minister) has told her. Thank you for any help you can give me. Charlotte |

34199 | Everyone origianlly in the Book of Life? | Rev 3:5 | shortstop45us | 66921
I was always under the impression that once we recieved Jesus as our Lord and Savior our names were added to the book of life...Rev 3:5 reads to me as if everyone is in the Book of Life to begin with but we could have it removed (erased or blotted out) by God. If this is so it would seem to be an answer to some who ask how can babies be saved since they can't accept Jesus as Savior...But if their names are written in the Book of Life to begin with, as babies they can do nothing to have their names removed so they would be saved...Just a thought...What do you think?
