Bible Note: The Hebrew word for evil means useless because it is broken. Other words mean useless because worn out etc. The word for evil is translated wicked when used of breaking the marriage covenant and temple prostitution. It is translated evil when breaking a covenant with God or a business contract. The sin was learning to break covenants, specifically the covenant with God not to eat of the fruit of the tree. |
