AMPLIFIED 2015 | Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more crafty (subtle, skilled in deceit) than any living creature of the field which the LORD God had made. Bible Question: At this point in the account, do they have the knowledge of good and evil? |
Bible Answer: Upon thinking about this discussion and all of its import, I also have to say the following. This first ocassion of disobedience of God's strict instructions is certainly a reflection of the sinful nature of human kind. You might say, it's basic in our nature to "set our own course" or "have our own way." I realize this might sound like a reversal of my previous statement but I guess it's a little confusing like when a parent first starts slaps a two year old's hand for touching things that the parent doesn't want touched. The child has no clue as to why. All he/she knows if he touches it, he experiences pain. So slowly but surely, the child learns right and wrong. I hope this helps and doesn't confuse the issue. Regardless, God bless. --Rowdy |
