NASB | Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, "Indeed, has God said, 'You shall not eat from any tree of the garden'?" |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more crafty (subtle, skilled in deceit) than any living creature of the field which the LORD God had made. And the serpent (Satan) said to the woman, "Can it really be that God has said, 'You shall not eat from any tree of the garden'?" [Rev 12:9-11] |
Bible Question: At this point in the account, do they have the knowledge of good and evil? |
Bible Answer: Naturally I assume you're referring to Adam and Eve and I would have to conclude from the first two chapters that they DO NOT have such knowledge. I guess they could be compared to a small child before he has learned about right and wrong. We notice that God is on a very intimate, face-to-face basis of relationship with them, therefore there is no trace of sin in their lives prior to this point. Seem pretty straight forward to me. Is there any question in your mind about their condition? God bless. --Rowdy |
