Personal profile for user screen name: John Hames GreetingsI trusted in Jesus Christ at the age of 12, now 47. I have a tremendous desire to learn about: 1. Creation 2. The age of the Earth 3. Pre Adamic people, (if any) 4. The rise and fall of SATAN I feel a lack of understanding of such matters is a hindrance to really understanding the whole bible. And consequently, that lack of understanding might lead to either a fear or lack of confidence to lay out the plan of salvation when confronted by a pragmatist. Pragmatist, such as myself, might easily and rightly so, believe that this old earth on which we trod, has to be older than a few thousand years. Trying to explain such without an understanding could lead to disaster. Even though I have studied (on my own) now for about eight years on this one topic, I feel as if I have only just begun. Churches of today, only preach new testament, its like they have no idea what the old testament is. Other than a few stories, like Christmas and the prodigal son, they have little use for it.
