I am a female married for 47 years who is 66 and teaches Sunday school to 6 children from first grade - fifth grade. I have 2 sons, of which the youngest at age 41, died in 2011 of cancer. We have seven grandchildren, 4 granddaughters and 3 grandsons. We take care of my mother, 93, and live rurally outside a small town in southern Mississippi.
I am an artist and paint in oils and love painting seascapes, landscapes, mountains and lakes and have painted quite a few animals..a horse at pasture, two Elephants, dolphins leaping from the ocean and love painting Thomas Kincade's paintings. Of course, I am not Mrs. Thomas Kincade and they wouldn't favor too much because once I get the basic design of the painting down, my mind takes over and I create them in quite different colors.. Painting gives me such comfort and I can lose myself in them for 3 hours at a time without ever hearing another word from any source. Anyone that can hold a paint brush can paint...It just takes knowing the basic techniques of painting. Search the Internet if you are interested; it has some really great artists who teach online. Much more reasonable than art classes and you can paint along with them, pausing them when you need to.
I am a devout Christian and I've loved God nearly all my life. Was convicted of being a sinner when I was twelve and accepted Christ and was baptized. I grew in love with everything about Him and the Father and even though when I married and got out into the world and even got off track before I realized the things that were happening around me were not from God but Satan. I got back on the path to Him again. He has been so good to me, blessing me in the midst of our greatest sorrow; our son's last child was born 3 1/2 months before he died. You want to get God's attention?? Ask Him to lead you to a church where you can serve Him more. He delivers on those every time and I am so very thankful He hears and answers prayers. Just have to be careful how you word it; the church I was led to was a church who had very few workers and there was ample places to serve. When I said I wanted to serve even more HE opened the doors that needed to open for me and I became my happiest in being His faithful servant. I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!!
