			Josh 8:3 ¶ So Joshua³⁰⁹¹ rose⁶⁹⁶⁵ with all³⁶⁰⁵ the people^5971a of war⁴⁴²¹ to go⁵⁹²⁷ up to Ai⁵⁸⁵⁷; and Joshua³⁰⁹¹ chose⁹⁷⁷ 30,000⁷⁹⁷⁰^,⁵⁰⁵ men³⁷⁶, valiant²⁴²⁸ warriors¹³⁶⁸, and sent⁷⁹⁷¹ them out at night³⁹¹⁵.
			Josh 8:9 So Joshua³⁰⁹¹ sent⁷⁹⁷¹ them away⁷⁹⁷¹, and they went¹⁹⁸⁰ to the place of ambush³⁹⁹³ and remained³⁴²⁷ between⁹⁹⁶ Bethel¹⁰⁰⁸ and Ai⁵⁸⁵⁷, on the west³²²⁰ side³²²⁰ of Ai⁵⁸⁵⁷; but Joshua³⁰⁹¹ spent^3885a that night³⁹¹⁵ among⁸⁴³² the people^5971a.
			Josh 8:10 ¶ Now Joshua³⁰⁹¹ rose⁷⁹²⁵ early⁷⁹²⁵ in the morning¹²⁴² and mustered⁶⁴⁸⁵ the people^5971a, and he went⁵⁹²⁷ up with the elders²²⁰⁵ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ before⁶⁴⁴⁰ the people^5971a to Ai⁵⁸⁵⁷.
			Josh 8:11 Then all³⁶⁰⁵ the people^5971a of war⁴⁴²¹ who⁸³⁴ were with him went⁵⁹²⁷ up and drew⁵⁰⁶⁶ near⁵⁰⁶⁶ and arrived⁹³⁵ in front⁵⁰⁴⁸ of the city^5892b, and camped²⁵⁸³ on the north⁶⁸²⁸ side⁶⁸²⁸ of Ai⁵⁸⁵⁷. Now there was a valley¹⁵¹⁶ between⁹⁹⁶ him and Ai⁵⁸⁵⁷.
			Josh 8:12 And he took³⁹⁴⁷ about 5,000²⁵⁶⁸^,⁵⁰⁵ men³⁷⁶ and set⁷⁷⁶⁰ them in ambush⁶⁹³ between⁹⁹⁶ Bethel¹⁰⁰⁸ and Ai⁵⁸⁵⁷, on the west³²²⁰ side³²²⁰ of the city^5892b.
			Josh 8:14 It came¹⁹⁶¹ about when the king⁴⁴²⁸ of Ai⁵⁸⁵⁷ saw⁷²⁰⁰ it, that the men³⁷⁶ of the city^5892b hurried⁴¹¹⁶ and rose⁷⁹²⁵ up early⁷⁹²⁵ and went³³¹⁸ out to meet⁷¹²² Israel³⁴⁷⁸ in battle⁴⁴²¹, he and all³⁶⁰⁵ his people^5971a at the appointed⁴¹⁵⁰ place⁴¹⁵⁰ before⁶⁴⁴⁰ the desert⁶¹⁶⁰ plain⁶¹⁶⁰. But he did not know³⁰⁴⁵ that there was an ambush⁶⁹³ against him behind⁴⁴⁸⁰^,³¹⁰ the city^5892b.
			Josh 8:17 So not a man³⁷⁶ was left⁷⁶⁰⁴ in Ai⁵⁸⁵⁷ or Bethel¹⁰⁰⁸ who⁸³⁴ had not gone³³¹⁸ out after³¹⁰ Israel³⁴⁷⁸, and they left^5800a the city^5892b unguarded^6605a and pursued⁷²⁹¹ Israel³⁴⁷⁸.
			Josh 8:18 ¶ Then the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ said⁵⁵⁹ to Joshua³⁰⁹¹, "Stretch⁵¹⁸⁶ out the javelin³⁵⁹¹ that is in your hand³⁰²⁷ toward⁴¹³ Ai⁵⁸⁵⁷, for I will give⁵⁴¹⁴ it into your hand³⁰²⁷." So Joshua³⁰⁹¹ stretched⁵¹⁸⁶ out the javelin³⁵⁹¹ that was in his hand³⁰²⁷ toward⁴¹³ the city^5892b.
			Josh 8:20 When the men³⁷⁶ of Ai⁵⁸⁵⁷ turned⁶⁴³⁷ back³¹⁰ and looked⁷²⁰⁰, behold²⁰⁰⁹, the smoke⁶²²⁷ of the city^5892b ascended⁵⁹²⁷ to the sky⁸⁰⁶⁴, and they had¹⁹⁶¹ no³⁸⁰⁸ place³⁰²⁷ to flee⁵¹²⁷ this²⁰⁸⁸ way²⁰⁰⁸ or that, for the people^5971a who had been fleeing⁵¹²⁷ to the wilderness^4057b turned²⁰¹⁵ against⁴¹³ the pursuers⁷²⁹¹.
			Josh 8:21 When Joshua³⁰⁹¹ and all³⁶⁰⁵ Israel³⁴⁷⁸ saw⁷²⁰⁰ that the men in ambush⁶⁹³ had captured³⁹²⁰ the city^5892b and that the smoke⁶²²⁷ of the city^5892b ascended⁵⁹²⁷, they turned⁷⁷²⁵ back⁷⁷²⁵ and slew⁵²²¹ the men³⁷⁶ of Ai⁵⁸⁵⁷.
			Josh 8:23 But they took⁸⁶¹⁰ alive^2416a the king⁴⁴²⁸ of Ai⁵⁸⁵⁷ and brought⁷¹²⁶ him to Joshua³⁰⁹¹.
			Josh 8:24 ¶ Now when Israel³⁴⁷⁸ had finished³⁶¹⁵ killing²⁰²⁶ all³⁶⁰⁵ the inhabitants³⁴²⁷ of Ai⁵⁸⁵⁷ in the field⁷⁷⁰⁴ in the wilderness^4057b where⁸³⁴ they pursued⁷²⁹¹ them, and all³⁶⁰⁵ of them were fallen⁵³⁰⁷ by the edge⁶³¹⁰ of the sword²⁷¹⁹ until⁵⁷⁰⁴ they were destroyed⁸⁵⁵², then all³⁶⁰⁵ Israel³⁴⁷⁸ returned⁷⁷²⁵ to Ai⁵⁸⁵⁷ and struck⁵²²¹ it with the edge⁶³¹⁰ of the sword²⁷¹⁹.
