Ps 48:7 With the east wind You break the ships of Tarshish.
Ps 48:8 As we have heard, so have we seen In the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God; God will establish her forever. Selah.
Ps 48:9 ¶ We have thought on Your lovingkindness, O God, In the midst of Your temple.
Ps 48:10 As is Your name, O God, So is Your praise to the ends of the earth; Your right hand is full of righteousness.
Ps 48:11 Let Mount Zion be glad, Let the daughters of Judah rejoice Because of Your judgments.
Ps 48:12 Walk about Zion and go around her; Count her towers;
Ps 48:13 Consider her ramparts; Go through her palaces, That you may tell it to the next generation.
Ps 48:14 For such is God, Our God forever and ever; He will guide us until death.
Ps 49:1 Hear this, all peoples; Give ear, all inhabitants of the world,
Ps 49:2 Both low and high, Rich and poor together.
Ps 49:3 My mouth will speak wisdom, And the meditation of my heart will be understanding.
Ps 49:4 I will incline my ear to a proverb; I will express my riddle on the harp.
Ps 49:5 ¶ Why should I fear in days of adversity, When the iniquity of my foes surrounds me,
Ps 49:6 Even those who trust in their wealth And boast in the abundance of their riches?
Ps 49:7 No man can by any means redeem his brother Or give to God a ransom for him--
Ps 49:8 For the redemption of his soul is costly, And he should cease trying forever--
Ps 49:9 That he should live on eternally, That he should not undergo decay.
Ps 49:10 ¶ For he sees that even wise men die; The stupid and the senseless alike perish And leave their wealth to others.
Ps 49:11 Their inner thought is that their houses are forever And their dwelling places to all generations; They have called their lands after their own names.
Ps 49:12 But man in his pomp will not endure; He is like the beasts that perish.
