NASB | 1 Samuel 28:6 When Saul inquired of the LORD, the LORD did not answer him, either by dreams or by Urim or by prophets. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Samuel 28:6 So Saul inquired of the LORD, but the LORD did not answer him, either by dreams or by Urim [used like lots by the priest to determine the will of God] or by prophets. [Prov 1:24-30] |
Bible Question:
My question is: It appears to me that Samuel only told Saul what God has said earlier. I often read that the statements said by Samuel made were because Saul had went to the medium. "People" say that because Saul went to the medium Samuel's words were essential a curse that was brought about because Saul went to the medium. To me it doesn't appear so. Any thoughts? |
Bible Answer: I would seem that the Scriptures do not agree with your conclusion? NASB 1 Chr 10:13 So Saul died for his trespass which he committed against the LORD, because of the word of the LORD which he did not keep; and also because he asked counsel of a medium, making inquiry of it, AMB 1 Chr 10:13 So Saul died for his trespass against the Lord [in sparing Amalek], for his unfaithfulness in not keeping God's word, and also for consulting [a medium with] a spirit of the dead to inquire pleadingly of it, DBR |
