NASB | 1 Samuel 27:1 Then David said to himself, "Now I will perish one day by the hand of Saul. There is nothing better for me than to escape into the land of the Philistines. Saul then will despair of searching for me anymore in all the territory of Israel, and I will escape from his hand." |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Samuel 27:1 But David said in his heart, "Now I will die one day by the hand of Saul. There is nothing better for me than to escape to the land of the Philistines. Then Saul will give up searching for me inside the borders of Israel, and I will escape from his hand [once and for all]." |

Bible Note: Bowler, are you OK. Haven't seen you post in a while. Hope everything is alright. I have been studying Hebrews. Here are some verses for encouragement. Heb 13:1 Let love of the brethren continue. Heb 13:2 Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it. Heb 13:3 Remember the prisoners, as though in prison with them, and those who are ill-treated, since you yourselves also are in the body. Heb 13:4 Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge. Heb 13:5 Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, "I WILL NEVER DESERT YOU, NOR WILL I EVER FORSAKE YOU," Heb 13:6 so that we confidently say, "THE LORD IS MY HELPER, I WILL NOT BE AFRAID. WHAT WILL MAN DO TO ME?" Heb 13:7 Remember those who led you, who spoke the word of God to you; and considering the result of their conduct, imitate their faith. Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Hope you have a good day in the Lord. Blessings Val |
