Bible Question (short): ...liars, shall have their part in.... |
Question (full): I know that my ignorance is only superceded by my love of God and His Word, so will someone please try to put the following into the correct perspective for me? I was reading in 1 Samuel chapter 21, when the following thought occurred to me. Our Lord says concerning liars; Joh 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a --liar, and the father of it.-- And in Pro 6:16 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: Pro 6:17 A proud look, a ---lying tongue,--- and hands that shed innocent blood, And Rev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all ---liars,--- shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. In no way is the sin of lying upheld in scripture. Yet there are occurrences therein where the individual tells “what appears” to be a blatant lie, and is either blessed for the action, or there is simply no more mention of it. My thanks in advanced for your biblically based, Spirit filled explination. In Christ George |
