AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Samuel 2:1 Hannah prayed and said, "My heart rejoices and triumphs in the LORD; My horn (strength) is lifted up in the LORD, My mouth has opened wide [to speak boldly] against my enemies, Because I rejoice in Your salvation. |
Bible Question:
what genre is this |
Bible Answer: My inclination would be to call it a prayer. I'm not averse to thinking of prayer as a literary genre. Prayers by their very nature have structure. In this particular case we have a prayer repeated as part of a narrative. |
