AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Samuel 18:10 ¶ Now it came about on the next day that an evil spirit from God came forcefully on Saul, and he raved [madly] inside his house, while David was playing the harp with his hand, as usual; and there was a spear in Saul's hand. |
Bible Question: How can "an evil spirit from God" be when there is no evil in God? |
Bible Answer: The NKJV says that God sent a distressing spirit to Saul. There is a verse says that God is the father of spirits. He created everything John 1:3. That includes evil. HE does this to show HIS power and to show people that He is in controll. Look at the story of Pharoah and Moses. That spirit was sent to Saul probably because Saul angered God and God wanted his attention for repentance. |
