Bible Question: and 1 samuel 14;1 was saul son jonathan faithful to God and why |
Bible Answer: Jonathan was faithful to David, not because of his love for God, but because of his love for David. (see 1 Samuel 18:1) However, Jonathan was acting according to the will of God, for the Lord had already chosen and anointed David to be king over Israel before the end of Saul's reign. (see 1 Samuel 16:13) God has a plan and purpose for every human being on this planet. Whether we are aware of His plans for our lives, or not. He is, afterall, our Sovereign Lord and Creator. Below are a couple of verses to support what I just wrote: "For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, "FOR THIS VERY PURPOSE I RAISED YOU UP, TO DEMONSTRATE MY POWER IN YOU, AND THAT MY NAME MIGHT BE PROCLAIMED THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE EARTH." Romans 9:17 "for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure" Philippians 2:13 |
