Bible Question:
Was marriage between an Israelite man and Moabite woman allowed? I had thought, from reading Ezra, that marrying foreigners was prohibited, but I've been told that these Moabite marriages were okay. Can someone explain to me who the Isrealites were allowed to marry and why. Thanks |
Bible Answer: Scripture ... Deut 23:3 "No Ammonite or Moabite shall enter the assembly of the LORD; none of their descendants, even to the tenth generation, shall ever enter the assembly of the LORD" ... God's day to you, Diomede It doesn't say they couldn't marry ... only "shall enter the assembly of the LORD" ... and for ten generations. Searcher |
