Bible Answer: There were two creations. The rebellion of Satan and the demons was responsible for the devastation of the earth. The Hebrew words "without form and void" are "Tohu and Bohu". These mean confusion and waste. God never creates confusion and waste! That is what Satan did. And probably to show the other angels just where rebellion leads. |
