Bible Question:
In the New Testament it appears that Sabbath Worship was always the day of Worship. When, where, what, and who made the change from Saturday to Sunday for worship? I know the reason we say we worship on Sunday, but under what authority was the change made? |
Bible Answer: Hi, Justme... The primitive church adopted this practice under the auspices of the Apostles. We have solidly received this to the present day in our orthopraxy. The Scriptures themselves give us indirect references as to why. For example, I find Hebrews 4 to do just that. For further study, you might find the 22 chapter of the 1689 London Baptist Confession helpful.
