Bible Question:
Is there an example or instructions in the Bible concerning a person in authority and how they are to treat those they are in authority over? I M Searching |
Bible Answer: Hi: this is these are the cardinal rules: 1 Pet 5:1 Therefore, I exhort the elders among you, as your fellow elder and witness of the sufferings of Christ, and a partaker also of the glory that is to be revealed, 1 Pet 5:2 shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising oversight not under compulsion, but voluntarily, according to the will of God; and not for sordid gain, but with eagerness; 1 Pet 5:3 nor yet as lording it over those allotted to your charge, but proving to be examples to the flock. Bible does indeed say that we should be loyal and subject to our pastors, but it also mentions the way they should behave. I'm a pastor myself and believe me it is not an easy job. God has to guide you to know when to be firm and when to be tender, but the goal is to always, always draw the person nearer to Christ. Remember those who led you, who spoke the word of God to you; and considering the result of their conduct, imitate their faith. Heb 13:7 Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with grief, for this would be unprofitable for you. 13:17 I hope this information is valuable for you, God bless you and remember you are valuable to God! |
