Bible Question: how did paul received news of the church in ephesus? |
Bible Answer: I used to wonder this as well. Paul was not in a conventional type of prison. I would say that his confinement was probably comparable to house arrest. His friends were able to tend to his needs and he was able to send and received mail. Acts 28:16 and 28:29-31 seem to illustrate this point. Those passages follow Paul's first imprisonment in Rome, during which he wrote Philemon, Colossians, Ephesians, and Philippians. He was eventually released and continued his ministry for another four years or so before being rearrested, imprisoned, and executed. |
