Subject: OT saints went Paradise when they died |
Bible Note: Hi, Jalek... The idea that there are different ways in which men may be saved is an alien notion to the orthodox Christian beliefs built from Scripture (John 5:45-46; 12:32; 14:6; Acts 4:12). From the very first declaration of the gospel in the protoevangelium (Genesis 3:15), to the preaching of the gospel by God to Abraham (Galatians 3:8), to the final assertions of Revelation 22, all are solidly rooted in the historical event of the atonement of Christ alone. We are blessed to view that atonement as occurring in the past, while the Old Testament saints still looked to its future fillment as promised by God (Hebrews 11:1-3; 1 Peter 1:10). What a marvelous thing that our Lord built the redemption of all of His own past, present, and future, on this incredible work. Those who drink from the water of life (Isaiah 55:1-3; Revelation 22:17) will praise God for His redemptive work through nothing but the blood of the Lamb (Revelation 15:3). We are creatures of time, in which we exist and think. Time is an artifact -- something created by our God -- and something that He is not subject. In Him, Doc |
