Bible Question:
Hi, A Church member after having received services from the Pastor of the Church decided to give a gift/donation.Such gifts/donations should be directed to the Church or to the Pastor? Is it proper for a Pastor of a Church to accept gifts/donations given by a Church member ,for himself? Your comments will be much appreciared. FytRobert. |
Bible Answer: Greetings FytRobert! As a pastor, I would like to tackle this question. It is only proper (and legal) for a pastor to receive gifts or donations if those funds were designated by the giver for that purpose or if the governing body of the congregation has designated those funds for that purpose. A pastor cannot simply take money from an offering. But, if that money has been designated for that purpose, then if would ethical to receive it. I hope this helps!
