Bible Question:
Please help me understand. This is not an attempt to counter doc's answer but a true desire to know the format here. I see this question to be one that can be biblically answered, Starting with Proverbs 3:5,6 With a Sincere desire to help others that struggle in different ways and beginning by pointing the focus on Jesus. I believe that handling this is within the TOU. The fact that the question appears not to be biblically motivated OK not under TOU, to me, doesn't discount that believers and non-believers struggle daily with how to conduct their actions. In this question one may see: pride, ego, fear and apprehension or, can be straight confusion on what God is doing in his life. How should we biblically approach questions like this within the TOU from those who, being sincere, would ask questions to better their walk with Jesus? I agree with doc that you should see a Godly man and find counsel from one who knows you best. However, I know men that search constantly to find one that they can trust. I also however think that if this is strictly an intellectual and theological forum, It is missing the point of the Gospel. Let me ask the question differently. "Were in the bible can I find how to make life changing decisions while keeping Christ first in my thoughts?" If the objectives of this forum are misunderstood by me, please give me guidance. . In Christ, Thank you |
Bible Answer: I think these verses are a good place to start. Matthew 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Ecclesiastes 12:13 ¶Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. Matthew 25:40 And the King (CHRIST)shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Colossians 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. Matthew 12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. |
