Subject: Can you continue to sin an go to heaven? |
Bible Note: Greetings and welcome to the Bible Forum. I enjoyed your personal profile but there is one part that puzzled me. You stated, (any person who wants to become a child of God must be BLAMELESS and HARMLESS -- FIRST -- and THEN -- he can be a child of God.) That’s almost like a sick person becoming healthy before they go to the doctor, that's how I see it from my perspective. How exactly does that line up with what the Apostle Paul recommended and Jesus as well in John 1:12? Galatians 3:26 (NASB) 26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. John 1:12 (NASB) 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, (believing and receiving are synonymous) My believing in Jesus Christ for my so great salvation came about in just the opposite way as yours. I believed and thoroughly trusted in Jesus and what He did for me on the cross for my salvation and then the Holy Spirit cleaned up my life. He gets all the credit I was nothing but a lost sinner and I didn’t deserve anything but to be separated from God for the rest of eternity. The fact is as long as I’m still in this old body of sin, I’m still a sinner but one that has been saved by grace through faith! Titus 3:5 (NASB) 5 He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, I sure hope you enjoy the forum and again welcome aboard, CDBJ |
