Bible Question: I am struggling with my devotionals. I've grown up in a christian home, christian school, and also continuing my education at a christian university. I have been kept in a christian "bubble" which is not necessarily a bad thing. It is just that most devotionals topics have lost their effectiveness. I feel bad but when you have been exposed to christianity as long as I have; the feeling just kind of happens. I am really tired of always talking to God but never hearing Him. My question is simply that I need a devotional topic that will get me into doing research, which will help me dive into God's Word. Does anyone have any good topics? (I love topics that challenge me to think and study) |
Bible Answer: Greetings and welcome to the forum. Here is a topic that will challenge your knowledge of Bible doctrine but might shatter some previous beliefs in the process if you take it serious. The topic of discussion is eschatology which takes basically four different avenues of deliberation. All four of these directions can’t be right yet the four “different” aspects are held by some of the most devoted individuals in the faith of the past several thousand years. Using all of the Scriptures that are dedicated to this topic try to come up with an answer where one of the four works in all cases within the realm of all the verses contained in God’s Word. The four basic versions are as follows, pertribulational, midtrib. posttrib, and prewrath. They can’t all be right! You better do a lot of praying and exercise the use of 1st Jn. 1:9 before each study cession. Yours in Christ, CDBJ |
