Bible Question: In Daniel 3:25 in KJV it says God but in NASB is says gods, why the change? In Revelation 8:13 in KJV it says angel but in NASB it says eagle, why that change as well? Other than that NASB is my primary bible reading source, love my NASB bible. |
Bible Answer: Doing some quick research, in Revelation, the term translated 'angel' in the KJV has a literal meaning of one eagle. In Daniel, looking quickly, modern translations all have 'son of gods' or footnote making that a possible translation. Reading the phrase in context, in my mind since King Nebuchadnezzar was the one speaking and my understanding is that their beliefs involved mutliple gods, why would he refer to the Son of God, when in his mind it would of been one of the sons of gods? Does that make since? Typing quickly at work, so hopefully someone can give you more detail answer. Brad |
