Subject: Are there any Prophets or Apostles today |
Bible Note: Hello sisterbaby, Welcome to the Forum. Reformed theology would hold that Apostolic authority does not get passed on. We have a doctrinal succession, not eclessiastical, so there are no more true apostles. Scripturally, believers are called "saints"- those who are in Christ. (Rom. 1:7, 1 Cor. 1:2, etc) In Jer. 1:4, Jeremiah was consecrated- the primary meaning of this word being 'to consecrate, sanctify, dedicate, prepare'- and it certainly does convey 'to be holy'. I think the far more common term for Christians- at least scripturally- is saints or brethren. Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |
