Bible Question: Hi,I am studying the identity of Jesus our Lord.In Mark 16:19 it says He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.Also in Acts 7:55 and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. I Know our God is one so how would you explain these verses to someone? The bible shows us that Jesus is the "I AM" of the Old Testament and he is YHWH.Please explain Him sitting at Gods right hand. |
Bible Answer: So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. (Mk 16:19) He sat at the right hand. To say He sat means that He was at rest, that His work was completed. This was a posture of authority, as He was sitting down when He began to speak at the sermon on the mount. To sit on the 'right hand' explains soveriegn rule, -it does not mean that God has a right hand. -does the Bible ever mention the left hand of God? Going by that logic, the Bible must mean that God is monodextrous. But it never says that God created the heavens and the earth 'single-handedly' ((o: son |
