Bible Question: Thank you for your answer but im still not satisfied with answer, in that you did not present your evidence of the hymns that are or have secular tunes. This brings about my second question, why do we sing the songs we sing? |
Bible Answer: Pwadumdi: Fanny Crosby worte many of the words to such Hymns, in the nineteenth century. She wrote so many songs that she had to use a different pen name to get them published. Look in a Hymnal and look at the information and see who wrote the music and then look to see who wrote the words. Many of the songs that were done this way 175 years ago, are a little hard to identify at this time. A good book of hymn history is in most libraries. This does take some effort on your part, but the reward will mean more to you if you do the research. One song that has been used in churches is "He's My Brother". There has been a slight change of the words. Many love songs have been choosen by couples as "their song" "Wind Beneath My Wings" happens to be the song my wife and love very much. I hope this helps a little more. Blessings. justme |
