Subject: Psalm 20:1-4 |
Bible Note: Ps 20:1 May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble! (Notice in Psalms 19:14 he asks that his thoughts be acceptable to the Lord his Redeemer-he seems to be repenting of his own sins) then in 20:1 he begins to pray for others that they will call on the Lord and receive help from Him when troubles comes their way) May the name of the God of Jacob set you securely on high! (He is speaking of the God of Israel who was called Jacob before God changed his name) Ps 20:2 May He send you help from the sanctuary And support you from Zion! (He seems to be speaking of heaven - see verse 6) Ps 20:3 May He remember all your meal offerings And find your burnt offering acceptable!(He seems to be speaking to Israel because they received the covenants and the laws) Selah. Ps 20:4 May He grant you your heart's desire And fulfill all your counsel! (He seems to be saying he hopes they get what they deeply desire) I hope this helps. |
