Bible Question: What if both parties want a divorce - isn't that abandonment by both? Also what if one spouse has a problem with anger that doesn't improve? Why is it that God would force you to remain in a relationship that doesn't reflect Christ and the church? |
Bible Answer: gatoiz: Welcome to the forum. Your question has had sound Biblical answers. May I add that by what you say and by what Jesus said, you BOTH have hardness of your hearts. Unless one of you see's you both are braking a Covenant you both made to your Holy Father and to each other. This is the biggest mistake you will ever make in your life! Scripture does say to live apart is better than to destroy each other. Because you both are Christians you have no scriptual reason or basis for divorce. Most every couple has some very hard times. The very damaging thing to your testimony is to divorce when Jesus said the the failure because of hardness of heart can be overcome, and you will be more in love than at first.
